My grandma has been in Woodlea since the start of this year. She was worried about the change but very quickly adapted and found a new lease in life thanks to all the staff. She feels very much cared for. She loves the food, entertainment and praises the laundry staff for their excellent work. There is lots of thought, care, attention and detail throughout by all the staff. Thank you Woodlea.
I have been in Woodlea Care Home for just over a year and my experience has been good. All of the staff are very caring, my only concern is the wheelchair access to the back garden. I think it could be made easier than it is. Thank you.
The care my mother has received at Woodlea has been excellent. Staff are caring, kind and extremely helpful. Well-being of residents of uppermost, including stimulation as well as care. Activities occur most days and the atmosphere is always happy and pleasant. Visitors are made to feel welcome. It is a pleasure to visit my mother at Woodlea. The friendly atmosphere to residents and visitors is the reason I rate Woodlea as excellent.
Mum arrived at Woodlea as a respite resident while we were on holiday. My sister and I were immediately pleased with the way she settled in and made friends. The carers were really attentive and made sure she had everything she needed and administered her medications when she needed them. She's now decided to stay permanently and is happy, stimulated and cared for. Food is cooked on-site, varied and delicious.
We come to visit our brother every week and find the staff super friendly, brother could not ask for better care, every one of the staff is so helpful and caring would recommend anyone to come here, we can swear by it.
I am happy with the care at the home, the staff are attentive, pleasant and willing to help. Listen to requests and views. Good relationships with residents.
All the carers, cleaners and kitchen staff are so friendly, helpful and caring! The manager and the assistant manager are always there to discuss any concerns about my mother's health and are so understanding and helpful. Nothing is too much for them. I am confident she is looked after. The rooms are pleasant. Two lounges and a dining room are large and comfy. Always clean and nice smelling! Meals excellent!
The staff are very kind and caring. They go over and above their duties, very friendly with all who visit and people they take care of. There is always something to do and they take residents all over, including going for meals at pub.
I can recommend Woodlea Care Home as the staff have been very caring according to my friend resident there. This resident is very happy with most things and especially enjoys the activities and the food, but most of all they feel safe. I recently had a concern about their bed linen not being changed for three weeks and it was dealt with promptly thank goodness. During the last episode of a lockdown, the communication was not always clearly explained so hopefully would be better, if there's a next time.
My Mother has been a resident of Woodlea for 6.5 years. The standard of care I feel is exceptional. Any problems/issues are looked into and dealt with promptly. Staff are always approachable. If there are any concerns relating to Mum I am informed swiftly and updated regularly. There are good activities arranged should residents wish to join in. Trips out are also arranged periodically. The food is good with usually a choice each day.
I have recommended Woodlea care home to everyone I have spoken to. I found the house to be very well kept and the care staff were very caring and supportive of the resents. I was very happy that my friend was being cared for there, as it was being recommended by residents who lived there. Sadly the resident I was friends with passed away in December 2022 and I was asked by the only surviving son to manage his mother's estate. With the son's agreement, I donated an electrically operated standing recliner in January 2023, so the residents could benefit from it as I felt the care staff/ home looked after my friend so well. While I was there I asked the manager if I could have the belongings of my late friend as I was dealing with her estate. She told me she would contact the social worker and safeguarding teams to see if she could pass them on, and would get back to me. I never heard from her until I managed to get her on the phone on 3rd April 2023. Please keep people informed!
My brother-in-law was in Woodlea Care Home for one year and the care, love and attention he received were superb. He was not always easy with the staff but they understood it was his dementia that caused this and were wonderful to him. The staff here are first-class. Food was delicious. I have nothing but praise for this home.
Thank you to the manager and to all your staff for the wonderful care you give to my special mum. Thank you.
My father has been at Woodlea since June 2019. We moved him from Wakefield to be nearer family and we couldn't have picked a nicer home. The staff and management are brilliant, warm and friendly to family. We can rest knowing he is safe, secure and well-fed. He loves where he is and we are happy.
The care given by the staff here is beyond reproach. They are loving, kind, compassionate and helpful. Above and beyond the call of duty to residents and their families. Kitchen staff, cleaners, carers and managers all have the best interest of the resident and their families in their hearts.
My mothers care is excellent. She is clean and tidy at all times. SHe is happy there is always someone checking on her and other residents. They do things to occupy them on a regular basis.
I cannot praise the care my mum receives enough. The home is well managed and no request is too much trouble. Every query is dealt with quickly and efficiently. My mother is treated with love and respect and so much effort is put into making her life fun and stimulating as well as keeping her safe and well.
The home always feels welcoming. Lounges are smart and the whole place is well kept and clean. Rooms are a bit compact but it was adequate for mum. The food was delicious and mum always praised its quality. The care was consistently very good, however, some staff talked very quickly and, suffering dementia, mum found it hard to process what was said to her sometimes. There is a large garden to the rear - not sure how well the garden area is monitored if patients go out there. On the whole, mum settled well there and I feel the care she got there was good.
After much research and visiting other care homes, Woodlea was the only residential care home that we were prepared to introduce our family member to. The standards and care of the staff are excellent, doing their very best to ensure that residents are treated with respect and dignity afforded to them as well as keeping family members up to date with their family member (resident) abreast with their care and daily living activities. We would recommend Woodlea Care Home to any other relatives looking for a place where their family members are treated by staff as their family would wish to be treated.
