View Full Details of Wyndthorpe Hall & Gardens Care HomeMy dad has been in Wyndthorpe Hall for about 2 months now and the care he has received has been first class. The staff are wonderful, kind, caring, polite and nothing is too much trouble. Dad is clean and well cared for with all his various needs met. His condition has improved enormously since he has been in their care. I know he will never get better but his medication has been sorted out and he is far more alert and responsive than when he first arrived. I would thoroughly recommend this home to everyone, it must surely be one of the best in the country.
Mum has been in Wyndthorpe Hall since August 2023. I am writing this review for January but it really covers the whole period my mum has resided there. Although the home is a little tired and dated the care is excellent the cleanliness is really good - always clean and fresh. The staff are always welcoming, they have an understanding of dementia and how to care for mum mentally and physically. I go on different days and times and I have never seen or heard a member of staff speak to any resident out of turn. It is managed very efficiently and professionally and nothing is any trouble. I also like the fact all the staff know mum by name whether it is managers, carers, the chef, or maintenance staff. There are always activities and interaction sessions to help stimulate. I feel content that mum is safe and well cared for and would recommend Wyndthorpe Hall to anyone.
My sister and I have visited our brother-in-law on a regular basis. He has front temporal lobe dementia. We cannot praise the care he is getting enough. The staff all seem genuinely kind and get to know the person they are caring for on a personal basis. The home is clean but basic; however, the meals are all homemade and delicious. I cannot praise this home enough.
We brought along my mother-in-law for her first respite and everyone was so friendly and made us feel relaxed, and they looked after her very well. She has dementia and we know it's not easy. Thank you!
My dad has been a resident at Wyndthorpe Hall now for 6 weeks, all staff have done everything possible to make his transition to residential care as smooth as possible. It’s been a difficult time for all of us, but we are constantly reassured by the staff’s attentiveness, communication with them to support his needs and their compassionate attitude to all residents. A grand, spacious building where Dad can seek quiet and solitude if he prefers. He may never accept or understand his need for residential care, but we feel we have chosen well and a huge thank you to all involved.
My mum was a resident from 10th July 2023 till her sad passing on 20th August. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Always had time to talk to family members and other residents in a professional and polite manner. Mum was really well looked after, fed well and kept clean. While she was in there, it was Mum and Dad's 66th wedding anniversary, and they let Dad have his dinner with her and a bit of a celebration from the staff for them. A massive thank you to all the staff. Love from all of Mum's family.
My mother has been in this care home for several months now and I am really happy with the facilities, the food, and the staff who look after her.
Every time I have been to visit my friend I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. My friend came to Wyndthorpe Hall & Gardens Care Home in January and has quickly settled in which I think has been mainly due to her interaction with the staff. She now considers Wyndthorpe to be her home and the staff to be her friends. I have also seen that they do lots of lovely things at times such as Easter, the Kings Coronation, and St Patrick’s Day and have decorated the home which is really good for the residents.
My wife has been a resident at this home since June 2022. She suffers from severe vascular dementia and I have found the staff and treatment to be excellent. All the staff treat the residents with respect and kindness. I know them all well and they are always very friendly and informative when I speak to them. In my opinion, there is no better place for her to be.
What a beautiful home, my mum has an amazing room, we can also put her furniture in it. She is so much happier here than the last home she was in. The staff are amazing, they can't do enough for you, the food is amazing, they listen to you with the help needed, my mum has staff to chat to which she loves, my mum keeps saying how lovely and quiet her room is, she is being monitored, all health needs met, hygiene met which was a big issue. Thank you everyone for all you do and your kindness towards my mum.
My gran has always been happy at Wyndthorpe Hall. The staff are lovely, always go that extra mile to make the residents swell and to keep them occupied. During this difficult year, it has been a godsend having regular Facebook updates and photos, the video calls and how the visiting has been. I could not wish for my gran to be in a better place.
Friendly and approachable. Although all the staff are very busy, they always make time for a smile and a chat with both residents and visitors. Some of the residents' faces light up when they see certain carers. The atmosphere in the home is relaxing yet organised and never feels negative. A lovely place for my uncle to be. He's happy - I'm happy. Wonderful Wyndthorpe.
Bearing in mind that this review has been written during the covid pandemic, some points are related to when in-house visiting was allowed. Staff are very cheery, completely polite, helpful and caring. General cleanliness is excellent, laundry services seem haphazard (items missing/dressed in someone else's clothes). My mother is very happy there. Other residents as well as staff are very friendly. The contact by staff to me is very good.
Diligent standard of care, good food, lots of entertainment, and all the staff show how much they LIKE the people they are caring for. No Covid 19 cases throughout the pandemic so far, helped by rigid (but sympathetic) enforcement of safety procedures. New 'lobby' to allow for reasonable visiting during autumn/winter weather. I feel lucky to have found such a good place for my wife to be!
I can't praise all the staff working at Wyndthorpe Hall for the dedication, hard work and time they have put into keeping the residents safe over the last very difficult eight months. A very big thank you.
My father was resident at Wyndthorpe Hall from May 2017 until his death in November 2019. My wife and I visited regularly, and other relatives and friend visited occasionally. We all found the residence to be very comfortable, the staff friendly and professional in the way they treated my father and us visitors. Food very good and activities excellent and varied.
I have always been welcomed in a friendly manner and have found the staff and management are really caring towards my husband.
We as a family were wary of our father going into residential care. Our reservations were soon abated. The care and attention from staff is heartwarming, our father is looked after as part of their family. Nothing you ask is too much trouble, if they can they will. You can't ask for more than that. We feel assured our dad is in the right place. Thank you.
The staff have been excellent in settling mum, at what was obviously a difficult and upsetting time for all the family. The staff are friendly and welcoming and always keep us informed of any changes to mum's general condition. The home management has an open door policy and is available for any chats from family. The home provides activities and has encouraged mum to join in and has given her a new lease of life.
This home is good in every way for my Grandmother. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff make her as comfortable as they could. I would recommend it to anyone who would like the best care treatment for their loved ones.
