View Full Details of Eastwood HouseThis is our second review. We visited at Christmas and were so impressed that when we needed respite for a couple of weeks Eastwood House was our first choice. Everyone is so kind, caring and helpful. The home is spotlessly clean and smells fresh. All the residents are well-presented and look very happy in their surroundings. The meals and drinks were plentiful and tasty. The staff are great and clearly enjoy their jobs, going about their duties with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is treated with respect. If ever we need to return we wouldn’t hesitate.
Mum seems happy at the home, carers look after her well, kept clean and fed. Entertained sometimes, so can't complain at all.
My mother is quite happy in Eastwood House. The carers and other staff are lovely. Mum likes the food which is a compliment as she was an excellent cook when she lived in her own home.
I have visited Eastwood House quite a few times to visit a friend. It is a very homely place, and the staff are friendly and willing to help with anything. On one of my visits, some residents were having their nails cut and painted, which they seemed to be enjoying. The home is clean, and they have a lovely little room where I once sat with my friend; this gave us privacy, but we could have sat anywhere we wanted. I have always been offered tea or coffee on my visits which made me feel very welcome. I would highly recommend Eastwood House.
I have a friend at Eastwood House. When I made my visit this week I found she was really happy. She showed me around her room and she is happy with her view I found the staff kind and helpful I wore PPE on my visit and the staff explained this fully on my visit. I had the chance to see other residents watching TV and saw some in the garden. I sat and had a drink in the conservatory and it was a lovely room. Staff came to check we were ok which I thought was nice. I found a welcoming and lovely place for my friend.
The home is dirty. It is poorly run with both seniors and management more interested in smoking than the residents. The residents spend all day just sat in the lounge with no stimulation whatsoever. Infection control is non-existent with equipment being shared without cleaning even when contaminated with faeces. Laundry is not managed with even underwear going into the wrong rooms. Residents are making sandwiches in the conservatory, not hygienic, at 10 am which are for tea time, unappetising. The toilet is in a wardrobe! and the TV has no socket to plug in plus no ariel or remote! The food is very poor unless you like chips and is more like what you feed to children rather than elderly people. Overall the home is very poor.
The staff and carers are ideal. The staff are very helpful and pleasant.
When I knew I was coming here I felt I was making a mistake. I was so wrong, I was so, so wrong. It is like home. It's great!
I am very pleased with everything in the home.
I'm happy here. They are all ok.
The staff are good at their jobs.
Since my mother has been here, she has been treated with care and respect in a professional way. Very attentive. Now she has settled in, she thinks of it as "home" or on "holiday".
My mother has been cared for at this home for over five years. They have been looked after from day one with extreme care, compassion and patience. They were fantastic with all residents during the pandemic and kept all families informed of any changes. The staff are fantastic and really care, which is very rare.
Care home staff and management are very friendly, efficient and very caring to residents. Always happy to help and answer any queries or concerns relating to Mum.
As a friend of a resident and not a family member, it's very difficult for me to push forward with my concerns regarding care. But, thankfully, the lovely staff have taken time to listen to me and have made plans to make his care personalised as much as possible. Thank you for listening to my worries and concerns regarding the lack of care from the council. It has no reflection on his care at Eastwood House whatsoever. Keep up the good work and thank you for listening to me. I know you all care.
I would like to thank all staff at Eastwood House care home, Rotherham, for their professionalism and compassion in caring for my dad who sadly past away on 02/05/20. All through his time at the care home, they showed love and respect to him. Nothing was too much trouble, they kept me in touch at all times, many thanks.
At first, I didn't want my mum in any care home but when I got to know the staff at Eastwood House and I knew my mum was safe, she settled in fine. The staff are lovely and caring and good at their job I take my hat off to them all. The food is good I always ask my mum what she has had. I know they all get fed properly. All the residents look clean and got clean clothes on. The staff raise money to take residents out on trips which is great. I would recommend Eastwood House to anybody looking to put a loved one in a care home.
