Always welcoming and organised. Time and patience first class. I've seen staff showing respect for the residents and good listening skills towards them. They are always looking for ways to entertain and bring activities to stimulate.
Since my wife became a resident of the care home, she has been settled and seems happy with herself, especially knowing what health problems she has. She gets round-the-clock attention which is great, the care staff are really good and helpful. I'm happy with the situation.
This care home is excellent, my mum is a resident. They are so caring and well looked after, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I'm always talking about how excellent they all are, thank you Deerlands.
My mum has been visiting the day centre twice a week for the last few weeks. Initially, she was reluctant to go but with the team, (one carer in particular) coming and getting her to go, she has really enjoyed it. She recently had a fall and fractured her arm, I notified a member of staff at the centre and she said to get in touch when Mum was back out of hospital. She was very reassuring that Mum would still be able to come when she was fit enough. I rang this week to say Mum was out of hospital but was having mobility issues, she arranged for her collection today and my sister was there to meet him as Mum has been struggling to move around. It is her birthday and staff came to collect her and said that they have arranged a cake for her! Their kindness and compassion is second to none. The staff are fabulous and so helpful. Thank you for treating my mum with respect and so much kindness!
Mum has been a resident of Deerlands, for a year now. The staff are very caring and very welcoming to family and visitors. On 12th December 2022, we were invited to have a Christmas lunch with Mum. One staff member in particular and the carers involved, made it a most enjoyable event. The chef made an excellent dinner and his yorkshire puddings were made, not bought and would be welcome in any top restaurant. Well done.
My mom went to Deerlands in July 2021. We have always been made welcome and kept updated when things are happening at the home. Mom is very well cared for and she has been on lots of outings. The home is kept very clean. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They always encourage residents and families to get involved with activities. They don't get the recognition they deserve. We are very happy with the care our mom is getting.
I have been a regular volunteer for some time at Deerlands, where I participate in activities with the residents. The staff there are lovely and welcoming, always attentive to the residents. Since starting volunteering, the activity leader has made me feel really welcome and I have participated in day trips and arts and crafts etc. During my time volunteering, it's been lovely to get to know the residents and enjoy their company.
My gran moved to Deerlands early this year and the home has been great with her. They do events, take residents out for the day and offer in-home services like having their nails painted and the usual hair, pedicure etc.
This care home has been a godsend for our family. We all have peace of mind knowing our mum is safe and well cared for. We are a large family and one of us is usually there every day to see her. The staff are always friendly and helpful, more than happy to answer our many questions. Mum is always engaging with someone when we visit, either staff or other residents. She often is involved in activities and especially enjoys the chair aerobics (not bad for a 90-year-old). The place is spotless and Mum absolutely loves the food and always has a hot meal. We take her out regularly and she is always keen to get back in time for dinner! Although it's not the most modern facility, the first-class care more than makes up for this. Well done to all the team for their hard work and dedicated care of all the residents.
My mum went in for respite and is now in full-time care. She has settled in so well. Staff are so friendly and still find time to talk. We are always made to feel so welcome. Could not have asked for anywhere better.
I was a volunteer at Deerlands care home and helped the activity coordinator out with her role, we celebrated many events with the residents such as Christmas, Easter etc. I was made to feel like I was part of a team and I really enjoyed spending time with the lovely staff members and the residents. I have occasionally brought my little girl into the home as I feel like it is a nice, safe and loving environment.
Mum stayed in this home, her room was cold the radiator did not work for 3 weeks eventually moved to another room. It was not clean, your feet stuck to the carpet I was told the carpet would be changed it never was, tv got broke not a problem, it was let on the side, the stand had sharp edges, I was told they had ordered a new stand, they just fob you off. Her room was not clean her clothes where ruined and dirty looking when they came back from the laundry, the home was decorated apart from the corridor. Mum stayed because they have Alzheimer's, they don't matter sometimes there were no staff about, the smell on the corridor was overpowering most of the time when she left we were given another patient drug charts. I have photo proof if the drugs had been given to my mum she would have been very ill or worst could have died. When I told the staff I was fobbed off again like it was no big deal some of the staff were really lovely, some it was just a paycheck at the end of the month.
My dad was a resident for 13yrs but more like a family member to the staff at Deerlands. They are an amazing, caring, wonderful bunch of staff that work there and our family is extremely grateful for all the love support and care including end of life care they gave to our dad I would highly recommend this home to anyone who has a loved one that needs to be taken care of without having to worry about anything thank you all at Deerlands you are all truly wonderful! You gave us peace of mind knowing our dad was so well taken care off!
We started to visit a resident in Dec 2014. We have continued to visit 2/3 days a week for the next 12 months, during this period we have always found the care and hygiene to be of very high standard. Food and food presentation is excellent. Management and staff excellent. During visiting we always speak to as many residents as possible, they are all very content and not a single complaint. We would recommend Deerlands to anyone.
Although my mum is extremely challenging the care she receives is always kind and caring. The home has plenty of outings which she always enjoys. If we have any concerns about mum the staff are always helpful. I could not wish for a better place for my 95 year old mum. We can go home knowing that she is well looked after.
