View Full Details of Norwood Grange Care HomeMy mum was a resident at Norwood Grange suffering from a lack of mobility due to having had a broken Femur and Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was in her nineties and having been here for a couple of months she sadly passed away. The Care home is very nice well decorated, spacious and bright. I would like to thank NG for the Attentive Care my mum received during her time there from the carers right up to the management staff who are very approachable and hands on. I would definitely recommend NG to anyone looking for a safe caring environment to place a loved one in. Once again thank you.
I contacted the care home manager in need of immediate care for my Father and she came to complete her assessment on the same day which was her day off. She was extremely friendly and engaging with my Dad and myself and was able to organise care within 2 days . Both care home managers were always polite, friendly and helpful. I also found the same to be true of the seniors I had contact with during my Dad's stay . The catering staff and carers were always friendly and helpful . The care home itself it's bright and light and the communal areas I found to be open with plenty of seating for the residents. I have had Previous experience of visiting care homes where the residents just sit around the edge of a closed room , this is not the case at Norwood Grange. I would highly recommend Norwood Grange .
Mum has been at Norwood for 2 years and the care she gets from the Manager and staff is great and they are always approachable to us if we have questions or concerns. Mum has sight issues and they try to do activities that she can take part in and there are always plenty of photos for us to see her enjoying herself. As a family, we are happy as we know she is being well looked after so thank you to all the staff.
Well run with friendly and attentive staff. Good range of activities, which both residents and family members can join in with. Access to a hairdresser and regular visits from a chiropodist. Communication between management and family is excellent.
The Home Manager does a great job managing Norwood. From what I've seen, the care from all staff members towards residents is amazing and there's always plenty of staff on duty. The transition into a care home has been difficult for my grandma, but the staff have helped massively with this and in turn has created close 'friendships' for her. The care home is lovely and clean and homely. Sometimes the smell can be overpowering but understand that this is unavoidable at times. It could possibly be made more welcoming to come into the room by having some natural fragrances on entry? After visiting, I leave knowing my grandma's safe and well cared for.
My mum has been here a while, my mum feels like she lives in a hotel which is nice for her. We enjoy coming to see my mum here. Staff are really friendly, residents always seem to be happy. We are happy with all the care and attention to my mum's needs.
My nan has been here a few months now and she really enjoys living here. The staff are always so helpful and care very much for the residents. They are always happy to support you on your visit. Thanks so much for the care of my nan.
The whole staff team are outstanding. Always happy to help. Each and every member of staff. Every time I visit, they are always very welcoming and kind. The activities are great, including fancy dress and many of the staff get involved. Great staff team. Such a happy home.
I think the care home is nice. The care I get is excellent and the meals are nice. My room is nice and kept clean and nice. The management is good and supportive. The deputy manager is kind and helpful.
My mum has been at Norwood Grange for almost a year now. As much as I would love to be there caring for her (I live in Australia) and love her to be in her own home, sadly she can't! The Manager makes sure I get to video call with Mum throughout the week which is so important to me and mum. I looked at many care homes last year and the minute and we met and we were welcomed by the manager, I just knew this was the place of care for mum. The quality of care is outstanding and that's all staff members from management to housekeeping, kind and caring. The home is beautiful and homely, the food is hearty, good and home-cooked. Whilst Mum still has sad days and wants to go home, I know she is loved and cared for and that's the most important thing for me.
The manager & her team are always on hand to help. My husband has been at Norwood Grange for just over a year now & he's so settled & happy. I can always rely on help from the team if I need it! 5* - Big thanks to all!
Mum had been a resident from October 2022 until March 2024 when we decided it was better for Mum to be nearer to us as it was a very bad drive to and from Norwood. Mum was happy there and the new management made changes and staff came and went in their droves but thankfully the good ones stayed. I found the decorating of the communal lounge that went on for weeks quite unsettling for the residents and noticed the negative effects on the residents and my mum. The care home then decided money was more important and quite a huge increase that for a basic room with only a sink putting the costs up by nearly £500, a little bit annoying because the director assumed Mum would never be leaving so we had already decided to move mum at this stage. Very disappointing to arrive on the day of Mum's departure to find Mum had slept in her bedroom and the staff had bagged and boxed all of her personal belongings up. Few things missing but good luck to whoever kept these! Family would not do that!
My mum went in Norwood Grange in January, the management and staff have all been amazing with my mum and with me and my partner. The manager is always on hand for support and everyone is approcable. I couldn't wish for my mum to be in a nicer place.
The staff here are a credit to the service, and have provided very caring end-of-life service to my father in difficult conditions. I only wish that they were paid to the level of support and effort they have put into looking after him, and if this were the case then they might not need to spend so much time recruiting people. Thank you to all staff.
My Aunt came to Norwood Grange for respite care for four weeks. She was very well looked after by all the team at Norwood. She really enjoyed her meals and rest, she actually put on weight during her stay. Her room was very comfortable, she enjoyed everything socially as well as her own time in her room. We would like to thank everyone involved in her time at Norwood Grange, it helped us a great deal personally as well. We won’t hesitate to take my aunt back if we need respite or permanent care in the future. Thanks.
On entering the property I found the security very good, the areas I entered were very clean. The staff are very friendly and seemed quite experienced in handling and talking to all the residents and gave good reassurance to my Mother who was very nervous about living there. The managers were very good at listening to your worries and concerns and would put in place good practices to overcome the problems. I would recommend this care home.
My dad was in need of emergency care when my mum went unexpectedly into hospital. Norwood Grange Care Home found a room for him and were brilliant from beginning to end. My dad was well looked after, well fed, clean and, despite the usual confusions of dementia, happy. The staff are all brilliant. They got to know dad, took time to chat with him and became his friends. They dealt quickly with a couple of minor health issues - he saw a doctor and got medication for an infection - they arranged a move to a bigger room when one became available and they even got him a TV. He loved his bigger room and commented frequently on how good the food was. Dad left after 6 weeks. I highly recommend Norwood Grange for anyone in the same circumstances.
I brought up the issue of the missing items of clothing with the manager at the care home and was pleased that this was addressed to my satisfaction. I have never had a problem with the staff at the home who are very pleasant and helpful mum is happy there and safe, which was a major concern before she went into care.
We have been delighted with the standard of care given to Mum. All the staff are helpful, kind, patient and giving. They encourage Mum to have a laugh and a joke and she responds well to this. They are aware of the difficulties Mum and her family face dealing with her dementia and increasing frailty and treat her with respect and understanding. The staff have all made an effort with Mum's friends and family and we feel very welcome when visiting. Knowing that Mum is well cared for, safe and comfortable has been a weight lifted off our shoulders. We feel very lucky to have found somewhere that feels like home for Mum, not just a care home.
Mum has been a resident of Norwood Grange Care Home since April. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. Any issues I have had during this time have always been promptly and professionally managed. The home is relatively small and I feel that Mum is treated like an individual and she gets really personal help with her specific needs. I feel I know the majority of staff from my weekly visits and they are all great. I would not hesitate in recommending Norwood Grange to anyone looking at the very difficult decision to entrust the care of a loved one to a third party.
