My mum has lived at Taptonholme for nearly 2 years and she is very happy there. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and provide very good care for mum. The home is always very clean and tidy and as it is fairly small, it offers a nice home from home atmosphere.
My 96 year old mother-in-law has been a resident in Taptonholme since November 2024. She settled in really quickly due to the kind, caring and compassionate team who work there. The environment is warm, welcoming and very homely. The staff are respectful of my mother-in-laws wishes. Nothing is too much trouble and there is a genuine family atmosphere. As a relative I feel assured that my mother-in-law is very well looked after and happy in her new home. If you are looking for a Care Home, I can 100% recommend a visit to Taptonholme.
My Mum has been at Taptonholme for a few days over Christmas. She can't manage the stairs at our house and Taptonholme was ideal for somewhere to sleep and have breakfast. All the staff were superb. They were friendly and caring. Very considerate. Mum's room was ideal. It was clean and bright. I was pleased there wasn't a minimum time to stay for respite and Taptonholme couldn't have been more accommodating to my needs and my Mum's.
My nan is currently at Taptonholme, she hasn't been there long but we can already see the difference in her, she is back to being her happy smiling self. The home is beautiful, homely and very clean, all the staff are amazing they interact with all the residents and do activities with them giving them a real family atmosphere. Would highly recommend it.
Taptonholme is my mother's fourth home in ten months. Sent to an NHS rehab home after a fall, and then had to move to a secure home from the one we had settled her in, she was not happy. Once off opioids, she was her old self (prescribed after her pelvic break) and needed company as much as care - we moved her to Taptonholme in May, and it was immediately her "home" in her eyes. She loves her room and is very settled. The staff have been amazing with both my mother and the family, and we couldn't ask for a better place for my 98-year-old mum to spend her last years. She is better cared for physically than in the previous home and is helped and encouraged to maintain independence. She also has people chatting with her every day.
Taptonholme is very clean and well-run. All the staff I've come into contact with are extremely caring and friendly. My mother hasn't been in the care home for long but has received excellent care and as far as I can see has been treated with great dignity and respect. Activities are available if required and the garden area is lovely to sit in during the summer months. Thank you to all the staff for making a stressful situation a lot easier to handle. I don't think we could have found a better care home.
I am very satisfied with the excellent care that my partner receives at the home. The staff are very caring and patient. The home is very clean and the food is very good. A well-run care home.
Everyone at Taptonholme gave Mum an enormous amount of love, care, and affection throughout the 5 ½ years she was there. It was clear from the very first days that it was more than just a job and a place of work for them. And it wasn't just Mum who benefited from that love, care and affection - we did as well, as they helped us to navigate and understand our journey through her illness. Like most people, when Mum was diagnosed with her illness, our knowledge and understanding of Alzheimer's was limited. But with the help of everyone at Taptonholme and the various books we found on the subject, we quickly became more knowledgeable. And so, it felt as if they were part of our extended family who we will certainly miss during our regular visits, although we hope to see them again during their fundraising events. A very big and heartfelt thank you to everyone who works there. We couldn't have wished for a better place for Mum to spend her final years. Thank you.
Having looked around extensively for the right place for my mum to move to, we were delighted to discover Taptonholme. As soon as we walked in, we knew it would be the right place. Small and friendly, with the atmosphere of an extended family, Taptonholme is an attractive, welcoming residential home that provides personalised care and support, catering for people with a variety of needs, including dementia. My mum has been treated with respect, dignity and good humour. I am so grateful to all the staff there for their hard work and care for my mum: thank you.
My godmother was 100 years old and lived at Taptonholme for 5 years. Her end-of-life care was excellent and I cannot thank the staff enough for all they have done. Staff are friendly and caring and have become like extended family. I would highly recommend Taptonholme to any prospective clients. You will not find better and such personal attentive care anywhere else.
Mum admitted for respite, but care so good we decided to let her stay. Covid restrictions have meant that visiting is not as easy, but visits have always been accommodated. Safety of patients is very reassuring. Excellent care is given. Encourage independence and due respect given. Rooms pleasant, food requirements met. Mecial care is very good.
My mum moved into Taptonholme during the Covid pandemic in Sept 2020. She settled in really quickly and was soon at home. Taptonholme is a small, friendly and well-run home that feels more like a family-run hotel/Bnb. The staff clearly know all the residents extremely well and offer very personalised care and support. It's lovely to see that my mum is so happy, safe and well cared for. She has also been involved in various stimulating activities providing much needed social contact. This has been a very challenging time for staff, residents and their families but communication with the home has been excellent. The staff have been amazing and treat the residents with patience, care, dignity, respect and unfailing good humour. They have facilitated a range of visiting options to support/maintain contact with loved ones whilst keeping everyone safe. Nothing is too much trouble and I'm always made to feel welcome. Thank you for all your dedication and hard work - it's greatly appreciated.
My sister-in-law has been a resident at Taptonholme since early 2020, after a stroke and injury to her foot. Throughout her stay the staff have been fantastic, and when the COVID crisis came along they were quick to restrict visiting and lock down before the rest of the country did, they have been scrupulous in their precautions, and the care staff have stepped up and taken on many roles they did not have to do previously. It is a lovely old house, handy for Broomhill centre, and there is a family atmosphere, with the opportunity for activities. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone needing care for themselves or a relative.
My mother-in-law has always been extremely happy in Taptonholme. It is a very well run home. All the staff are very friendly and care for the residents really well. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect. It is always clean and they provide home-cooked meals every day. They have managed the Covid situation extremely well, always keeping us informed during this pandemic. Many thanks to all the staff.
My mother has been a resident at Taptonholme for the past year. The care and love she receives from the staff is exceptional. She has Dementia but because this care and compassion is very happy and settled. The environment is very welcoming and the facilities are excellent. The communication from staff is second to none and a comfort to know my mother is in safe hands. I feel very fortunate to have my mother in such a lovely place as is Taptonholme and would highly recommend to others.
This is a small, extremely welcoming, friendly and caring Home. My mum is so settled here. The staff are a stable team with a great deal of experience, they show great kindness and professionalism in dealing with my mum who has complex needs. Although she has not been here very long, we have seen a huge transformation in her well being and condition, she looks so much better. It is clean both in the home and in the outside spaces. The manager and deputy manager have been so helpful and patient in steering us through the complexities of placements and the general care system. There is an emphasis on care and laughter and my mum loves the staff and the other residents.
Taptonholme is a small home with a family atmosphere. The home is always sparkling clean, the residents seem comfortable and the staff attentive. The staff respond not only to the needs of the residents but also their visiting relatives, often offering cups of tea. The staff are always courteous and pleasant and demonstrate infinite patience with the residents.
My mother has been living in Taptonholme for over a year. It is a very friendly home. My mother is happy and content. The staff are very caring. I am always made to feel welcome and I find the staff very approachable. It is a small home and there is a great sense of community between the residents, staff and family. I am happy with the home.
My mum had Alzheimer's and was cared for by the staff team at Taptonholme for the last four years of her life. The staff remained virtually unchanged throughout that time (which I think tells you everything about how the home is managed) and everyone, no matter what their role, treated mum with absolute dignity and respect. Mum's illness could be very upsetting for her at times, but all the staff had the upmost patience and gave her all the time she needed. My sisters and I had cared for mum ourselves prior to her moving to Taptonholme and we wanted to get that difficult decision right for her. We looked at number of other homes, but Taptonholme was head and shoulders above the rest. It's in a brilliant setting, has a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, it's not too big and it's greatest asset - the staff team. I felt a real sense of comfort knowing that mum was well cared for every hour of the day and I now feel that those last years spent at Taptonholme were the happiest of her life.
