When my mother suffered a stroke and was admitted to hospital the care and consideration by the staff were incredible. We could not have asked for more. While a resident my mother has thoroughly enjoyed her stay.

I am so grateful to all of the Abbeydale staff for making my mother's 90th birthday celebrations memorable. They always provide superb care throughout the year where any request is met with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. However, they push the boat out for residents' special birthdays and celebration days like Christmas. Mum was absolutely thrilled to receive huge helium birthday balloons, a delicious birthday cake complete with table fireworks, and pretty cards and presents from the owners. Our large extended family was made very welcome at a private drinks celebration set up in the spacious garden room surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was a truly wonderful day and I was very touched by the kindness of everyone at Abbeydale. It truly is a home that cares.

I have physical needs. I have dietary needs. I have early stage dementia. I have lived here five years. I feel all my needs are met. I feel management and staff go above and beyond to support us. We have activities, in house, bus trips to a very interesting variety of venues, all part of the package. Occasionally there may be a trip to a theatre, cinema, or a longer bus trip where one leaves before lunch, where one pays for lunch or tickets but not for transport. I cannot imagine how the service could be improved.

During my working years I was a guest speaker at many companies annual conferences, always staying at five-star hotels, accompanied by my wife and in worldwide locations. However, when my wife and I could no longer take care of ourselves, because of age and infirmity, I did not expect to be able to find a residential care establishment which would not only match our experience of earlier years but, in the case of Abbeydale, exceed in every aspect the level of service we had experienced in the best hotels in the world. In addition, of course, Abbeydale provide a range of personal services, essential to the elderly, that no hotel could even contemplate offering. My wife and I counted ourselves fortunate to have found such a special home in Abbeydale.

My mum is a resident at Abbeydale and I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and the family who run it. My mum had a fall recently and was in hospital. Several of the staff waited with her in A&E and visited her in hospital after her accident. They all showed such kindness, support and compassion, and I can't thank them enough. Abbeydale is a special place, and I'm so glad we found it.

My mother has been in Abbeydale for five years now and has been very happy here and always tells us how lucky she is to be staying in such a beautiful home with caring and attentive staff. They have adapted to her needs as her mobility has gradually reduced, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. It is a friendly environment. The food is amazing and always spotlessly clean. We always enjoy visiting the home to see my mum but also to speak with the staff and owners.

My mother has been in Abbeydale for 13 months. A beautiful residential home, family-run. The care and home are outstanding. My mother is very well looked after. There are a number of activities daily in which she participates. She could not be better looked after. The food is unbelievable and the home is like a 5* hotel.

A very welcoming home, more like a hotel than a care home. Given the attentive and friendly staff and owners. Nothing is too much effort. It has stimulated my mother at 96 to be more active and engage with the many activities on offer.

I cannot adequately describe the care, medical efficiency, companionship and love shown to all residents here. To do it justice, it is all way beyond the call of duty, nothing is too much trouble for the owners and staff members. The food is outstanding and tailored to the individual needs and dietary requirements. Living at Abbeydale is like enjoying life at a 5-star hotel, with care.

I have lived here for 2 years and find only minor 'glitches' in the home. We are a very happy community and would not want to live anywhere else. I moved from another location when I lost my husband and have made a new life here in Abbeydale.

Abbeydale is a Very friendly environment My mum says the Food is wonderful and they are very flexible with the menus There are plenty of activities in the house and also outside Staff are caring and professional and keep me informed of how mum is getting on.

Abbeydale is a safe and welcoming home for my mother. She is very well taken care of and very happy. The food always looks appetising and healthy. The staff go about their duties in an efficient and jolly manner. The home is always very clean and particularly beautiful at Christmas. In the summer the gardens are stocked with colours and scents for the residents to enjoy in the sun.

This is a care home like no other. The attention and care is outstanding. My mother is looked after so well, her settling-in period, was very smooth indeed. I am amazed at all the activities that take place which my mother seems to enjoy.

Mother has been living at Abbeydale for around six years and I can honestly say that there has never been a single day when her care has not been outstanding. The manager's family run an extremely successful care home employing top-quality staff and outstanding levels of professionalism and care. It is really pleasing to see members of this family being present and working in the home but also how cheerful all the staff are. There are many occasions when I hear laughter and cheerful remarks from the staff, both between team members and also between staff and residents. Abbeydale feels like a lovely family home with lots of extra guests! Life in Abbeydale feels safe and caring, with wonderful food and fun. I am also grateful when the staff rang me at home to keep me informed of a particular medical situation. It feels that they care for my mother as if she were their relative. The online system is also really useful and the whole lifestyle feels very transparent.

Abbeydale is a lovely and very well-run residential home where my mother has lived in great comfort for over five years since my father's passing. The staff are all so kind, caring and considerate and my mother is very happy in her room surrounded by her things and in comfort. The owner-managers take a personal interest in the lives and well-being of all the residents, the food is excellent and the house and gardens are lovely and tranquil. All around an excellent choice to spend the years.

Abbeydale is like a five-star hotel. My Mum is very well cared for, the staff are all very friendly and professional. It is great that she can come and go as she pleases, visitors any time of day. The activities and trips out on the bus are excellent and we couldn't be happier that Mum is spending her final years in such a happy environment.

Abbeydale have provided an exceptional level of care to my grandparents since their arrival there in September 2022. They were solicitous and supportive of them both, as well as the family, even more so when my grandmother passed away in November. Throughout the initial weeks after her passing, they helped my grandfather adjust to a new situation with patience and care and ever since they have continued to engage and entertain him and generally ensure he is as happy and comfortable as possible. Knowing the staff are there taking care of him is a huge burden lifted, the family knows he is safe and well looked after and when we visit, we feel so welcomed by the staff, the owners, and the other residents!

Abbeydale, a family-run residential care home and when my parents had to move there they became part of that family. The suites are beautifully furnished, the staff are absolutely amazing, attentive, patient and above everything else so kind. Unfortunately, Mum's health was failing everything that could possibly be done to make sure her last few months were comfortable and pain-free was carried out with great dignity and compassion by all the staff. Chefs preparing special meals, birthdays celebrated with her favourite cake every member of staff popping in for a chat. After Mum passed away, the staff cared for us all and continue to support us. Dad has been given the most fabulous support and care which I am so grateful for, knowing he has a family around him as I live abroad has given me great peace of mind. I looked at several care homes, saw Abbeydale first with my parents and we knew immediately this was the only place where they would be happy. Abbeydale is amazing.

It is difficult to express the respect and gratitude in which I hold the owners and staff of Abbeydale. As you visit your relative the staff greet you by name and with great warmth. If I ask about my mother's health the staff know her preferences, and her nuances (good and bad!) and if they notice any change in her status they contact me to inform me and suggest any helpful ideas. Food is a highlight of the day, especially fish and chips Friday! When possible there are ample trips weekly and staff are always creative in terms of entertainment and activities. My mother is the most content she has been for years and this brings great peace of mind to all our family. Thank you Abbeydale.

Abbeydale is the most wonderful retirement home. It is beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean, and the food is wonderful. The whole place is befitting of a first-class hotel rather than a residential home. The family work so hard to make it a success and the staff they employ are fantastic. They don't change every five minutes like in some places which is settling for the residents.

Abbeydale is like a five-star hotel. My Mum is very well cared for, the staff are all very friendly and professional. It is great that she can come and go as she pleases, visitors any time of day.
