View Full Details of The Borrins Care HomeMum moved in to the Borrins Care home in Oct 2023. She quickly settled in and I can say she saw The Borrins as 'home'. Mum wasn't cared for by staff, she was cared for by 'friends'. Whilst we are a close family, these friends became an extension of her daily social life, with wonderful interaction and humour. The Borrins may not be a modern care home but the exceptional and attentive time given to mum was invaluable. What use are the newest and latest facilities, if it doesn't have compassion. In her last couple of months in poor health, the care went up another level providing end of life care. And she left that home as impeccably dressed and made up, as the first day she walked in. The outstanding care and approach starts with the care home manager and transcends down the line. There are just too many carers to mention special thanks to. We got from the Borrins everything we hoped for and more. Thank you so much for caring for our mum and the friendship you provided her.
My mum was in Borrins Care Home from March 2024. I instantly liked the home and I was made to feel very welcome. Mum's care was very professional and showed genuine love and care for her well-being and indeed my own. Unfortunately, my mum ended up in an end-of-life care situation with the support of the district nurse. This is when I saw even more of the workings of the home and the amazing staff. They cared for both my mum and myself at this time. In my mum's last days, I chose to stay by my mum's side. I'll never be able to thank the staff enough for what they helped me through. These people are just incredible and deserve far more than I'm sure their salaries reward them. They show a genuine love for others. Far more than 'just a job' I'll never forget the staff who cared for my mum and me at this time. I'm unable to put into words enough praise for the team at Borrins but they know what I'm trying to say. Thank you for everything. You're amazing people with hearts of gold. Bless you.
Mum went into The Borrins during Covid following a broken hip. She settled in well and loved all the staff, the food, the company, and the activities. She had a new lease of life. During Covid the staff coped extremely well in very difficult circumstances. Mum enjoyed her time there and had a lovely room overlooking the gardens where she could watch the squirrels and birds. When Mum suffered a series of strokes The Borrins staff gave her the most amazing care, love, and support including helping myself and my family cope. Mum decided she wanted to remain at The Borrins at the end of her life and she passed away peacefully in Feb 2024, she was surrounded by people who knew her so well. She received the most wonderful care, support, love, and attention during her final days. I cannot thank all the staff and management enough for the care she received throughout her time there. It does feel like a special place and one Mum called home.
Staff are top class - they really care, not just tick boxes, and they do a great job for my 91-year-old mum. Extra miles - you bet! Compassionate, professional and very approachable. I travel 250 miles to see mum. I trust The Borrins Care Home.
My sister was admitted to The Borrins in March 2020, just before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns and restrictions on visiting residents of care homes. As a result, this review is based on what has been a uniquely difficult 18 months for Care Home residents, staff and relatives of residents. All have coped remarkably well and staff particularly deserve our fullest praise. My sister was admitted to The Borrins having had several falls over Christmas 2019, for which she was hospitalised in Bradford Royal Infirmary for 3 weeks. Despite a period in a Social Rehabilitation Unit afterwards, she was not deemed well enough to return to her sheltered housing flat in Shipley, where she lived alone.
I visited my cousin again this morning after trying to book a slot previously. The staff are most accommodating and very helpful. The pod is brilliant in that it enables visitors safely. The lounge and dining room look clean, tidy and warm, and I know she is very happy there. All in all, it couldn't be better. Well done to all concerned.
Staff are careful and caring. Only ever had to make one complaint, which was quickly dealt with. Love the efforts made to balance safety with family contact.
Everyone at The Borrins has been kind and considerate both to me and my mother. The food is excellent. The only complaint we have is that the room is cold, and she can't have her electric blanket, so several nights she has complained of being cold, and so cannot sleep.
The staff are wonderful - always willing to go above and beyond to help my mum. I couldn't recommend The Borrins enough.
My mum has been in The Borrins for over three years now. My late father was a resident for around 6-months. The home is very well managed, and the care staff are all excellent. Through an extremely challenging year, care and communication have been consistently good. I would recommend to anyone looking for a care home in the area.
My mother stayed at The Borrins for 3 years and she was very well looked after by all the staff members, not only the carers. I was very impressed by the way everybody treated the residents with dignity. From the first day my mother moved to the Borrins, they all made my mother feel very welcome. She felt very safe and loved. With me living in Amsterdam, it was comforting to be able to phone my mother and speak to staff members. They kept me in the picture and whenever my family and I came to visit we were made very welcome. I am very pleased that my mother stayed at the Borrins.
My mum was accepted into the home in the most difficult times, Covid-19. Yet we were reassured that she was well cared for from the outset by the welcoming, comforting staff who had the most cheery disposition, yet were professional at all times. She enjoyed all of the meals and the chef went above and beyond, baking a cake for her birthday. Family rarely saw her, staff made up for it.
My Aunt is happy at The Borrins. Well cared for and treated with dignity. As visitors, we are always welcomed. Staff are approachable.
The staff were very caring towards my mother and took great care of a woman who was over a hundred years old. They made her feel welcome and wanted.
I have always found staff very welcoming and helpful. I feel that my brother is well looked after and made to feel at home.
My mum and dad were here for two weeks respite and were looked after extremely well by all the staff. Meals were good and very good care. Special thanks to the manager and deputy manager. Nothing was too much trouble and I even brought my dog and could call anytime. Would not hesitate to use again when the time comes.
I wrote a review two weeks ago about the kind care my Grandma received during a period of ill health. Sadly she passed away this week, very peaceful at The Borrins, after living there for nearly 3 years. All the staff at The Borrins should be proud of the work they do, the people that they are and the difference they can make to resident's lives. As a family, we are very grateful for the care our Gran received and the friendships that we made with the team.
My mum has been a resident for almost 3 years and I could not wish for a more caring home. The staff are so kind to my mum and also to myself. The manager is extremely supportive and has the best interest of the residents at her heart. My mum was very poorty at the weekend and I was immediately informed by the day senior member of staff that a doctor had been called for. I sat with mum for many hours on the Sunday and was given privacy in her room and all the staff were so helpful and kind to mum and myself. The senior night staff also rang me at 10:30pm to give me an update. Mum is now so much better and I cannot thank them enough for their dedication.
Came numerous times whilst my grandma was particularly ill. Staff were fantastic, extremely attentive and caring. Made the family feel that she was definitely in the right place to recover.
My wife has been a resident in The Borrins for 18 months. She seems very happy there and I am delighted with the care she receives from everyone at The Borrins. There is a homely atmosphere there and the staff are caring and friendly. I am happy to recommend The Borrins to anyone who needs similar care.
