View Full Details of Springbank Care HomeSpringbank Care Home creates a homely atmosphere for residents and family members. It has excellent care staff and are always greeted with a smile and excellent service. The manager and deputy manager are always on hand to help and support. It provides a safe and comfortable residence for the residents.
My dad is so very well looked after by every single member of the team at Springbank. They always spend time chatting and having a laugh with him which he thoroughly enjoys. When I go to visit him the vibe at Springbank is always a calm and happy one. The team are very professional and friendly and make themselves readily available for a chat about any concerns I may have regarding my dad's health. I always receive a follow-up call or email if appropriate e.g. after a GP or district nurse visit. The three monthly reviews are very useful and a good opportunity to discuss all aspects of Dad's care. The trips out in the minibus and visits to the church rooms are greatly appreciated and I have seen residents occupied in activities doing artwork whilst singing along with the activities coordinator! Great fun! I couldn't be happier with the care my Dad receives.
This review relates to the past year my husband has been cared for at Springbank Care Home during which he was extremely ill and admitted to hospital. Following his return his care has been excellent and he has improved immensely. Everyone who has been involved with his care has shown patience and compassion which has been much appreciated by me. He thoroughly enjoys the healthy nourishing food provided.
My mum has been a resident for 18 months. The management and all the staff are really professional, caring, competent and run a happy home. Mum had a few health challenges recently and these were addressed well. The residents are treated as individuals eg. they all received a Christmas stocking with 4 gifts which were personally chosen and suited to them as well as a personal Christmas card. On Valentine's day they will again 'feel loved' as they receive heart biscuits and are taken out on the minibus to a garden centre. Later on in the week is an external singer. The residents selected their individual pizza toppings last week and these were then cooked for them for their tea. Everybody works hard to run a well managed home with a variety of entertainment. A resident has her own choir which they join in with and Race Equality Week was celebrated with flags, pins, sharing customs and food from the countries the staff come from. I volunteer at the home and sometimes escort residents to appointments.
Having cared at home for my mother along with other family members, it was a real upset when Mum broke her leg and required an operation. Post-operation, it was obvious that the care plan had to change. Springbank Care Home has made this transition so much easier than expected. Mum is happy and we are happy thanks to all the staff at the home.
My mum was in Springbank for just under a year and passed away in June this year. I cannot praise too highly every single person in this wonderful home. It is in every sense a home, not an institution, and all residents (and their relatives) are treated like family. Every member of staff treated my mum as if she was a loved friend or relative. With respect, kindness and gentleness, with her well-being, comfort and happiness at the heart of it all. They have so many activities for those residents who want to take part, with two dedicated entertainment coordinators. The manager and assistant manager are warm and caring and just can’t do enough for everyone. You can’t go wrong if you entrust your loved one to these lovely people.
The following comments are about the last two years at Springbank. My other half is so settled - my daughter says - “we cannot believe how well it has all turned out”. This is after all the trauma of the previous years. All staff are very caring without exception. The food is exceptional. Senior and office staff are very approachable. Activities are carried out with great thought about the interest and enjoyment of all involved.
Springbank in Silsden is flawless. Can’t praise everyone enough who works there - a true team with a fantastic leader at the front. So welcoming, helpful, and inspiring to be shown what a good care home looks like. We would not hesitate to recommend Springbank. The care, love and hard work are very visible when you visit. Keep making a difference; it is very much appreciated.
The staff at the care home have been amazing - caring, compassionate, patient and hardworking. They have spent time with Dad to help him through and always take time to make the family feel welcome and informed - communication is very good.
My 94-year-old mum came to Springbank Care Home from the hospital after a fracture initially for respite. The home has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are welcoming and cheerful (we are always greeted with a smile) and have helped her to become mobile again. With their encouragement, she goes to the dining room for meals and joins in the many activities on offer in the home and even down to the local chapel hall for bingo! All the staff from carers, kitchen, laundry and management are very approachable and any queries are quickly dealt with and we are kept informed. Mum's room is always clean and warm.
My partner has been a resident at Springbank Care Home for the last 12 months. She has been extremely well looked after by all levels of staff and management. My partner has unfortunately got vascular dementia. The staff understand her needs, are very caring and do everything possible to encourage her to think positively. She is encouraged to take part in the daily activities the 2 dedicated members of staff have thoughtfully arranged. Meals are provided at regular times with a tea/coffee break being given mid-morning and afternoon. My partner likes the food that is offered by an extremely good chef. Residents are asked every day to select their breakfast, lunch and a choice from a menu they are helped to choose from. Yes, I would certainly recommend Springbank not only to those relatives who now find their loved one cannot care for themselves at home but also to those poor family members with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Dad was a resident in Springbank, for just over 2 years. From the first moment (during a lockdown) they met Dad, I knew that the care was individual and sensitive to his needs. Very good, tailored personal care, promoting independence with unobtrusive supervision. Regular reviews give families and residents time to reflect on care. Urgent issues are handled well, communication is excellent between staff and family. The activities are wonderful and varied, and from my experience, the best I've seen in the area. Full assessment on arrival gave staff a good picture of his life and interests. The visiting entertainment is fantastic and varied! I noticed how sensitive they were to Dad and me, staff always cared with respect and dignity. I always felt welcomed and valued. All staff who came into his room were cheerful and engaged in conversation. The building is immaculately clean and the food is outstanding. Excellent management that invests in progressive staff training and recruitment. Well done!
Whilst mum only had a very short stay at Springbank, she was well cared for by the whole team, and when I say the whole team, I mean the whole team. They also made our family feel cared for and willingly gave their time to us too. Mum chose to stay at the home, having visited friends here in times past, and I could understand why, as the facilities for residents and families are outstanding. As a family, we appreciated the kitchen facilities we could use 24 hours a day and the resident's lounge that we could use for that little bit of quiet space, which we very much needed. The care team was incredibly responsive to Mum's needs and worked tirelessly to keep her safe and as comfortable as possible. At times it felt as if Mum was the only resident there and was receiving one-on-one care, but this care extended across the entire home and to all residents. For this, the Springbank team should be very proud of themselves and for what they achieve on a daily basis. Thank you for everything you do.
My mother has been a resident at Springbank in Silsden since August 2022 and has been treated extremely well. Her age is 96 and has dementia. Care at home was becoming unsafe and this care home is wonderful. The level of care, attention especially in respect of personality and character and comfort is excellent. The staff are kind and empathetic and always available to speak to. Springbank is a blessing to me and my family, to know that mum is safe and happy is priceless.
A really impressive care home. High-quality carpets, curtains, furniture, food and staff. Nothing to complain about, if there was, believe me, my mother would have done - dementia or not! Full marks to all involved.
It's unfair to say this review only applies to December. My friend has been a resident since April 2022, although she had spent time here earlier. She has dementia and lives in her own world most of the time, but I am so happy with the care she receives. I don't visit very often as she now doesn't know who I am, but I'm not judged. I know she is safe, warm, well fed and cared for. The staff are all great, and I mean all staff, not just carers; everyone does a remarkable job. Thank you.
Springbank has provided my mum with exceptional care. Since she moved into the home last November, they couldn't have done more to make her feel at home. I know she feels safe, well-fed, comfortable, warm, and above all, happy. They have made her part of the team and encouraged her to join in, which has resulted in her being more like herself than she has in years. As a nurse, who managed three nursing homes, I think she feels part of the team. The care she's been given and the way the home is run have allowed Mum to have a purpose and feel valued. I know she feels at home because when we are out, she will say it's time to go back to Springbank at the end of our trip. Well done to everyone that works at Springbank, and thank you.
My mum has been in Springbank for over a year, and she's very happy. We looked at three others, and we are very happy with the care she gets. They now have a minibus to take them out for trips which my mum has been on two so far.
The moment my sister and I walked through the door, we just knew it was the perfect home for Mum. The staff are all so welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. The home is so clean throughout and has such a warm, homely feel about it. The timetable of activities is wonderful; Mum hasn't had a social life for quite a few years due to being a full-time carer to Dad. She now has friends and is loving going out and about, especially on the new minibus. I feel confident and have witnessed that when Mum is ever upset, the staff deal with the situation with so much professionalism and respect for her. Mum refers to having her meals in a hotel, where the dining room is beautifully presented and having tasted the home-baked cakes - the food is delicious too. My sister and I now have peace of mind knowing Mum is in the perfect home, is looked after and is very safe. If old Mum (before dementia) could have chosen the next best place to home, she would have chosen Springbank without a doubt.
I cannot praise Springbank enough for their care and empathy whilst Mum is at the care home. Nothing is too much trouble, and a smile awaits your arrival re visitations. Things have been tough with Covid, but all the staff conduct a professional well-organised outlook and helpfulness. Thank you!
