View Full Details of Alexander HouseMy dad had a short stay at Alexandra House after a long stay in hospital. The care team were fabulous. He really enjoyed the food during his stay. My dad wanted to go home, and the staff supported him to be independent again. Great care great team.
My dad has dementia and was so confused when he first went into Alexander House, but after 6 weeks he had settled down and seems to enjoy it. The staff are amazing with him (he can be difficult at times). The food is great and also the snacks that they are always eating. I can't thank them enough, it makes me feel a lot better knowing he's in good hands. There's always things to do during the day, the ice cream van came the other week and also baby lambs came. The manager always has time for a chat, so a big thank you to everyone for looking after my dad.
Mum has now been in Alexander House for 18 months, the manager and her wonderful staff are nothing short of angels on earth. Not only do they cater to the resident's needs, but also take time out of their busy schedules to help and reassure the families of those who live there. The addition of a member of staff recently is a bonus! Mum loves the pamper sessions, the games, the crafting, the visits from the chicks and the lambs. Keep doing what you’re doing #Team - you’re doing a great job!
My husband was taken to Alexander House temporarily after a fall, he struggled to walk without assistance mainly because of dementia. The facilities and staff were first class and each day there was a different activity to keep the residents active, sadly he had to leave as a permanent place became available at another care home, I would highly recommend Alexander House to anyone looking for a care home!
My dad initially went into Alexander House for 3 weeks of respite care whilst I was on holiday. On my return, Dad asked me if he could stay permanently as he felt much safer with 24-hour care. At home, he was very anxious about falling. This told me that in the initial 3 weeks, he was happy with the environment there. The staff are very friendly, they make everyone feel welcome and it is evident that the ethos is one of care and dignity. Sadly after another three weeks, my Dad fell very ill and he passed away at the home. I cannot praise the staff enough for the way they cared for him in this difficult time and also for the care and respect they showed to my family, nothing was too much trouble. Dad slipped away peacefully, he could not have been better looked after.
My 95 and 89 year old parents were booked into to Alexander House for 2 weeks respite while we made alterations to their house. My Father has very limited mobility and poor eyesight and his needs well perfectly catered for. The staff are first class. Very professional, friendly and couldn`t do enough to make their stay as comfortable and as safe as possible. Visitors were welcomed and always offered tea or coffee on arrival. I would have no hesitation recommending Alexander House as a safe and caring environment for the elderly.
