View Full Details of Longroyds & Pilling House Care HomeMum became a full time resident at Longroyds & Pilling House Care Home during October after no longer being confident enough to remain in her own home. The entire team from the outset have been wonderful, caring, compassionate and understanding. Mum is known and cared for as an individual, not a room number and has settled in remarkably well considering she'd lived in her marital home for almost 60 years. Mum's room is beautifully decorated in a homely style with good views of the leafy grounds full of bird life and squirrels, however she spends most of her time in the lounge and dining room in the company of the other residents. I couldn't have hoped for a better place for Mum to spend her twilight years in the knowledge that she is being well looked after, is safe and has good hearty and varied food. There is always something going on in the home with plenty of arranged activities and it's lovely to see so many smiles on the faces of both the staff and the residents. 100% the right place and highly recommend.
The team at Pilling House provided respite care for my father for 2 1/2 weeks in May 2024. They were wonderful from start to finish. They provided a fantastically high level of care of my dad throughout his stay and made sure he was safe and comfortable. His medication was delivered accurately and on time. His room was very recently redecorated and was a really lovely bright and clean room. Thank you so much to the whole team there and we wouldn't hesitate to use Pilling House for respite care for my father again in the future.
My mother went to Pilling House Care Home last year for respite care but is now a permanent resident due to needing more care. We also knew that after being there before, she was relaxed and happy, so we had no regrets when Mum had to be permanent. The staff are kind and pleasant and very welcoming, this has made my family feel that we have made the right choice.
After my mother-in-law had been a resident at Pilling House for four years I had no hesitation when my mother needed the extra care due to the excellent service. My mother had settled in well with the added bonus of Pilling being her home village and knowing some of the staff. The staff are excellent, very caring, respectful and truly professional.
I live close to the care home and there is always something fun and enjoyable going on for the residents and their families. Each year they plan event days like a summer fayre, which includes different stalls and bake sales, as well as face painting and visits from the ice cream van! - always including the village community where possible. After attending the events myself I can say there is a variety of activities to include the whole family. I am sure the residents enjoy these event days as it encourages their loved ones to visit their home. 10 out of 10 for the effort that goes into the planning and preparation to make sure everyone attending has a great time!
What a beautiful home on pleasant grounds, the welcome from the staff was warm and welcoming which instantly put my mum at ease. Mum was staying for two weeks respite. The care she received was second to none and I would Pilling House to anyone who finds themselves in what can be an upsetting and emotional time.
Very nice old-style buildings in a lovely setting. Wood panels and decor in keeping with the ear of my father-in-law. The staff are lovely with smiles and good humour. Happy to have found this team of staff and home to look after our gentleman. Many thanks.
My dad has been in Pilling House since Christmas 2022. Originally he was at Longroyds. The staff have been friendly and supportive throughout this time, especially as we recently struggled with the death of Mum. Such an upheaval and change in circumstances was bewildering, scary, and unsettling for us all. Dad in particular has taken a long time to calm, feel safe, and stop trying to return to his childhood home. During this phase I cannot fault his management and the kindness and compassion and acceptance he is given.
Excellent 24 hour care, where we know Dad is safe and very well looked after. We are made to feel very welcome when we visit. We are really grateful. Thank you!
My mum has had a lovely Christmas which is down to the staff and care she got in Pilling House. She has settled quite quickly which I also think is down to how she is cared for and looked after. She seems to be getting involved in the activities and looks happy whenever I come to see her. She looks well and is always in clean clothes which is nice to see. Staff are always pleasant and helpful even in the stressful time we are still in because of the pandemic.
The Longroyds Manager was very helpful and caring. He ensured an admittance to the home speedily. He went beyond what could be expected and ensured a potentially difficult situation was avoided. All the staff in the home we have met have been courteous, professional, and friendly.
The staff that we have met all seem very pleasant and know what they are doing.
COVID restrictions have meant we could not go into the home. We had window visits. Until Christmas week then pod visits. Not ideal with a new resident. The care mum received was excellent. She was assessed quickly for things she needed. My only gripe is she didn't have hearing aids in but mum didn't like them, so will have refused to wear them we will never know. Mum has since passed but was well cared for.
The high standard of care and support to my mother gives me peace of mind at a very difficult time in all of our lives due to COVID-19 that she is receiving the very best care and attention that she needs to stay safe.
My father is well looked after and I feel at ease knowing he is being well fed and his needs attended to.
Friendly staff and management. Helpful day to day. Caring.
Father settled in immediately. Staff very caring. Father enjoys the food. Staff always helpful, letting me communicate with my father by telephone anytime I wish to do so. No complaints at all about my father's care.
Placing Dad into a care home was a difficult decision we have to make, but he has dementia, and we had to come to a point where we needed to keep him safe. The start of the enquiry, the assessment and admission, the staff were extremely supportive every step of the way. Dad is very well cared for, the staff always keep me informed if there are any concerns and any activates we can join in with. I would highly recommend this home. Excellent!
My mum became a resident in July 2020. At first, she was very unsettled, but as time has gone on, she seems happy and settled. She always looks clean and tidy and well dressed. A big thank you to the manager and all his team.
I have just returned from my review for my mother with the manager of Longroyd House and a member of staff. She has been there for 6 weeks. I am extremely impressed by the staff's knowledge, professionalism and caring for my mother. The improvement in her physical and mental health is astonishing in 6 weeks. She is socialising with other residents, she is bright, cheerful and her appearance has improved tremendously. Their knowledge of her from the review is remarkable and this is due to their experience working with people with dementia. She is treated with dignity and respect and I cannot fault the staff/home in any way. The food is of a very high standard and she is able to make choices for herself. Her room is extremely clean and homely. The management and staff work well together as a team and this is evident when we visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to friends and family.
