View Full Details of Paddock Lodge Care HomeI was made to feel at home soon after arriving at Paddock Lodge. The staff are very helpful and genuinely caring. The food is excellent and the garden is lovely to walk around. I highly recommend Paddock Lodge.
Prior to arriving at Paddock Lodge, my sole experience of nursing/care homes was dismal. I was extremely apprehensive but I soon found my anxiety was misplaced. I was immediately made very welcome by the manager and staff. It very quickly became apparent that staff are very professional and willingly go the extra mile to meet residents' needs and make them content. Indeed, I have made significant progress due to the excellent care and support I have received. The facilities are very good and the garden is an absolute delight to explore and enjoy. The standard of food is excellent. I cannot recommend Paddock Lodge enough.
Mum needed to move to a care home in December 2022 at the age of 92. This was something she never wanted to do and as a result was non compliant for a while despite us all knowing it was the best place for her, as she was no longer able to manage safely at home. It took her a while to settle but due to the wonderful care, encouragement and attention she has received from all the staff at Paddock Lodge, she is now settled and making friends. My brother and I get regular updates and visitors are welcomed and immediately offered refreshments! Nothing seems too much trouble and my brother and I couldn’t be happier with the professionalism and care shown by all. We hope mum has many more happy years there.
The manager and her team saved my mother's life, by putting her care above any commercial consideration. My mother was re-admitted to hospital because of their belligerence, thus saving her life. Tonight, even though the manager is on annual leave, she placed a call, not only asking about my mother's welfare but asking about our (me and my brother's) welfare and offering further remote assistance if required. The care my mother received at Paddock Lodge was second to none. Hopefully, my mother can recover sufficiently to resume her stay there. Private care is more often than not portrayed in a negative way, this does not apply to Paddock Lodge. I cannot speak more highly of them in terms of my mother's care, honesty, approach and potential aftercare.
I am very grateful to all the staff at Paddock Lodge. My mother was a resident there for a transitional period of three weeks after suffering a stroke and being in hospital for two months. I could find no fault with the service. All staff were super friendly, switched on and couldn't do more for both my mother and me when I visited. The manager is an experienced, dedicated leader and a clear communicator. What my mother enjoyed about Paddock Lodge was the friendly, family-like atmosphere. Unlike new builds that charge twice as much, Paddock lodge, although an older building, has a great family feel and a close-knit community and lacks any clinical or hospital-like feel that other care homes may exude.
After being left with a hard decision due to the sudden and unexpected closure of the home my Mum was previously resident in, I am refreshed to have found Paddock Lodge. The management and staff have been amazing, my Mum has dementia but is still a very loving lady and her needs are met on a daily basis with plenty of hugs and kisses from all, I feel this is very important for my Mum emotional well being. Nothing has been too much trouble for the manageress, she has constantly kept me informed on Mum's social and emotional health which helps me to feel reassured. I am truly grateful that this hard decision was made into an easy one, once Mum was there. The only thing I would complain about as Mum is self-funding I feel the decoration is very dull and outdated. I'm sure a lick of paint by the owners would make the home a far more preferable location.
My mum was at this care home for 15 months and I am eternally grateful to all staff for the care and support they provided for her during this time. Even after my mum passed away, they kept in contact and supported myself and my family through what was a very tough time. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Paddock Lodge to anyone who is in a similar position to the one we were in. And if truth be known, I actually miss seeing the other residents there. The staff are unsung heroes in these testing times of Covid. Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
My Grandmother spent her last few months here and I'm glad I picked it as she enjoyed her final leadup to her passing and we as a family are glad that she did so. Would recommend you do take your loved ones here as the care is to a high standard.
