View Full Details of Highfield Care CentreFabulous staff, caring. Dads been in Highfield for a year and a half.
My mother-in-law entered the home in February 2024. We have noticed in the last 3 months an improvement in all areas of the home, ie cleanliness - every time we visit everything is clean and tidy. The upstairs living area has had new flooring and the seating area is well planned out for visiting and privacy. We have noticed extra staff and all are caring and polite. All the management team and staff work really hard and are always happy to speak to you if you have any concerns.
As a family, we are very happy with the care our family member has received. The staff are friendly and obviously care about the residents, also our family member likes them and they like her so we as a family do not have any concerns.
This review is based on the improvements made over the past three months, moreover, since additional new management assistance was put in place. The overall standard appearance of the home is a massive improvement. The staff appear to be more engaging with the residents, with more staff on hand. Keep up the good work.
Very impressed with the amount of improvements over the past 2 months and their plans for the coming months, seem to be well thought out and achievable. The push to recruit permanent staff for the continuity of the residents is commendable. It is clear that the new culture being built within the home is promoting a happier environment for all. Thank you for looking after my mum for me.
My father was a resident from August 2023 until his passing in March 2024. During all this time our family had no complaints whatsoever, he was clean, well-fed, and entertained. Staff were lovely and caring. We visited on different days/times and had no issues at all, manager and deputy manager always had time to talk to us, hardly any agency workers. His room was spotless, and daily activities. In the end, the staff were so compassionate and genuinely upset when he passed, highly recommended, cannot fault the care my dad received.
My stepfather was really cared for while he was in Highfield Care Centre Leeds until he passed away, what really disappointed and upset me was that no staff showed up at his funeral when I notified them of the church and time, I even made the phone call to the home when I got to the church and was given an unacceptable excuse, my stepfather only had me as his only family and only I and my husband were at his service until 2 of the funeral people came into the church to attend the service which we appreciated, just for future all care homes should have someone at residents funerals.
Mum is happy at Highfield Care Centre, has been here almost six years. I feel she is well looked after and the staff are always pleasant, helpful and caring but once again, I feel the increase in fees to almost £4,000 per month is not justified. Activities is much improved, which Mum enjoys and it is nice to see her doing things more like when she first came here. Food always seems nice. But the clothes problem starting off again, new tops and jumpers disappeared since beginning of the year which is not good.
Staff are excellent, kind and caring. Facilities are very good. Nice atmosphere.
My brother-in-law is well cared for, gets a good, varied diet. He seems frustrated with night staff. We are grateful that he has good care and very safe. We appreciate care he gets with his condition.
Overall happy with the care of my uncle, if he has a fall or any other medical I am informed straightaway and kept informed as to what's happening. He always looks clean and tidy and seems quite content. Staff are all friendly and interact with him, this is very important as he is a very sociable man, when asked he says they are nice and look after him. Meals always look nice and he is offered drinks regularly which is important as he has a catheter. The usual little niggles i.e. missing socks and hankies but otherwise very good.
My auntie hasb een in residence since April 2023 and I am so happy with how she has settled into her new home. All the staff is so friendly and you can see the care that the residents receive by the happiness on their faces. The home has such a homely feel to it and the staff create this pleasant atmosphere. I would s strongly recommend Highfield to anyone looking for care.
Every time I visit my mum, the staff are very helpful and give me updates, but I get so confused when my mum says she hates it there. She might hate it anywhere, but there is a problem with some other residents, one of whom has a big problem with her. I have raised the problem, but it still continues. I am looking for alternatives, at least a bit closer to me.
My grandma has been at Highfield Care Centre since October now and the staff have been amazing with the care they have given to her. My grandma is happy and smiling again and that is down to the care and understanding given to her by the carers. As a family, we have no more worries and know that my grandma is safe. We are updated by the home regularly about my grandma and any changes. The management team are very supportive towards us as a family and understanding. It was a hard decision to place my grandma in a care facility but it was the best decision we have made and especially choosing Highfield Care Centre.
The current management team has turned Highfield around. The team of carers are excellent. Everybody treated my mother with respect and dignity. The building is clean, tidy and well-run. My advice is to look through the decor etc, when choosing a home and concentrate on the way the residents are cared for. I suspect that you would have to go a long way to find a home that treats people better.
Although Mum has only been at Highfield Care Centre for ten days the change in her is amazing. She is smiling and laughing again that have got to be with the excellent care she has received. Thank you everyone.
My grandmother required an urgent placement and Highfield House were a huge support and offered her a bed. The staff are so helpful and caring and the home is a home from home. The managers were so helpful and supportive throughout. My grandmother is very happy and we have noticed a positive change in her health and wellbeing. Thank you so much, a fantastic team.
Mum has lived here for over two years now and is very happy. She is well looked after and all the staff are very kind and caring to her and she is treated with dignity. Staff always make us feel very welcome when visiting.
The staff work very hard to cater for all the needs of the residents. The staff are always pleasant, patient and caring with the residents and welcoming to visitors. The rooms are comfortable and always warm.
Highfields Care is a lovely care home. All staff are very personable and supportive. Mum is very happy and safe living in the dementia wing. Mum is treated with dignity and receives good care.
