View Full Details of Headingley Hall Care HomeI have found Headingley Hall care home to be excellent in many ways. There is ample parking and the grounds are attractive and well kept. It is secure with a good signing in and out procedure and I always receive a warm welcome from the reception desk. The carers are committed and I see their presence in both the lounge and dining area. They are constantly ensuring that the residents are comfortable and give feedback to visitors. The senior staff communicate well with me and there are follow up calls to ensure that I am aware of any issues. The meals are varied and of a good quality. They will provide small meals and snacks at a moments notice when asked. The rooms are light and airy and the facilities are clean and hygienic. I have recommended the care home to friends and colleagues.
The team at Headingley Hall are so flexible and helpful when I want to speak to my mum from a time zone 8 hours away. They are accommodating and friendly and always make it happen. Thank you team, it helps to keep us connected over the miles.
The care and support that my mother received during her time at Headingley Hall was excellent, staff were always ready to help, such a warm and friendly atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend Headingley Hall if asked.
My mother has been a resident since May 2023 in the dementia unit at Headingley Hall. This small friendly unit became her home and we became her family again instead of her full-time carers. The staff are professional, supportive and friendly with no restriction on visiting times. The entertainment and stimulation are excellent for people living with dementia. My mother returned to Headingley Hall in March 2024 after a 2-week stay in the hospital. The staff have gone above and beyond to settle her back into the Home with her increased care needs. I have and will continue to recommend Headingley Hall to other families considering care homes.
The staff at Headingley Hall were all lovely and kind. This includes the care staff but also the kitchen staff and especially the reception staff, who were so kind and reassuring. They went out of their way to ensure that Dad was safe and happy. Very important to Dad’s family, enabling us to sleep at night.
Headingley Hall looked after my mum in the last year of her life. She passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She enjoyed the time she spent there and liked the company of her fellow residents. She had her own comfortable room with en suite facilities and television. The home had a regular programme of activities and musical entertainment. There was a varied menu and meals were home-cooked to a very high standard. The staff dealt with issues in a caring and professional manner at all times. The home was attractively decorated and attention to cleanliness was evident at all times. The management and staff were always friendly and seemed focused on the best interests of the residents.
Dad moved in, in February 2023. I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of care he has received or the facilities. A very friendly place and the location is excellent, with doctor's surgeries and all amenities in easy reach, but based on the largely quiet road.
My dad was in Headingley Hall Care Home for respite care. He was very happy there and we were always welcomed as relatives when visiting. The care staff were lovely - friendly and professional and dad felt completely at home. He is quite a fussy eater but enjoyed the food and was offered alternatives when necessary. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Headingley Hall
My sister first came into Headingley Hall Care Home in mid-February 2023 initially for a three-week trial period of respite care. During that short time, her husband passed away. The staff at Headingley Hall could not have been more kind and caring for her and we are all very grateful to them for that. She is now a permanent resident and has settled in well and has made friends among the others. She loves the food which is nicely served and delicious. If she doesn't fancy the dish of the day then the chef willingly makes her a simple alternative and she regularly says to us how much she enjoys her food. She has a really nice room but is rarely in it because she prefers to spend her time in the lounge with the others. She very much enjoys taking part in the activities which are provided, particularly dancing and bingo. Headingley Hall is well-kept and clean. The laundry system works well and there have not been any lost items. This is a caring care home. She is relaxed and happy and what more could be asked?
My 97yr old mum moved to Headingley Hall in September 2022 with the intention of becoming a permanent resident. As a result of the excellent care she received, she felt well enough to move back to her home in March 2023. Headingley Hall has outstanding staff in all parts of the operation - managers, care staff, admin, housekeeping, chefs and maintenance. They are all cheerful, helpful and kind. Residents have an excellent choice of food and the chefs work really hard to provide creative menus. Headingley Hall has very good links with local health services and any health concerns are quickly addressed. Thank you to you all.
My 96-year-old mum went in for respite for a week. It was her first time and she was looked after so well by the lovely staff. Mum said there was nothing she did not like about the respite and all the staff were so good with her. She said she would recommend the home to anyone else. The food menu selection was lovely. As a carer myself I understand how hard the carer's job can be but they all could not do enough for my mum. A massive thank you to all who cared for my mum.
I organised a week's respite care for my mum in Headingley Hall, as a trial before I go away for four weeks next year. My mum has lived with me for twelve months and was very nervous and anxious before going in. At the end of the week she told me how kindly the staff had treated her. We were both particularly pleased that the staff offered to organise video phone calls for us while I'm away. I have no hesitation in booking a place for my mum for four weeks next year and I have every confidence she'll be well looked after.
My Uncle spent a week at Headingley Hall for respite to give my Aunt a break. It was his first time in respite so understandably we were rather anxious. From the minute he arrived the staff were fantastic and they made him feel so welcome. He had a lovely room and all his needs were more than taken care of. The staff went above and beyond to make sure he felt well cared for and safe. He absolutely loved it, settled in really well and wanted to stay longer he enjoyed it so much. He loved the food and interacting with all the other residents who also made him feel part of the family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Headingley Hall, all the team do an awesome job. Thank you so much. My Uncle is really looking forward to staying with you again.
If you are somebody thinking to send your loved ones there, I would say think twice. Had my grandma there, she did not like it for many good reasons. Her last words were "this is a horrible place". She was right, when we went to clear her room after death, we found that fridge had expired chocolates and a two-year-old half-eaten cake that the staff did not bother to clean. I took pictures for record. They check all the boxes/paperwork and have very nice buildings etc, but they do not really care. The response rate is very slow and the only thing they care about is the money. Some lower staff members were nice but they did not stay there too long. If you complain about anything they deny it. If somebody is conscious and can feel, then it is not a very nice place. The choice is yours if you want to send your loved ones there or not, but after a lot of analysis and observation, I am saying this is a bad place and do not send anybody there if you care.
When our uncle needed to be taken care of at the age of 97 we chose Headingley hall in Leeds as we heard good reviews of it and we were not disappointed. The care he received there was excellent from everyone. He was settled and happy during his stay there. We are grateful to all the staff for making his last years so happy and comfortable.
I don't understand how Headingley Hall ticks so many boxes, yet gives such poor care - very disappointing. It may be suitable for respite or dementia care but otherwise, not recommended. There is very little stimulation for people who have capacity, and very little consideration of their needs. My friend hated having to live there for the last years of her life. Night staff did not check rooms - she was left lying on the floor for hours, unable to move to reach the alarm. There was very little effort to make her comfortable in her last days - no palliative care or remedial care was offered, so we had to arrange for her to be transferred to the hospital where she died, thankfully with some care and comfort. Management did not keep accurate records - her file said she was a widow with dementia, a serious error that influences medication and treatment. There were half-eaten birthday cakes in her fridge going back over two years. I could go on, but no space left. Don't send anyone you know with capacity to make their own decisions there.
Headingley Hall is a first-class facility. It has the look of a traditional high-class hotel, not a Care Home, the level of appointment of the rooms is second to none and, in the main, the Care Staff are excellent. Administration is very efficient. The laundry does a great job and we have had no lost clothing. Housekeeping keep Mum's room clean and care for her plants. There is a varied programme of social activities every week and the Social Secretary has also signed Mum up with the local library to receive talking books and has spent a great deal of time and effort setting up her Echo dot and encouraging Mum to engage. The food is excellent, the menu varied and the resident chooses what they would like to eat themselves. The kitchen staff will also make things that are not on the menu, such as delicious omelettes if Mum doesn't fancy the selection for the day. Any member of staff passing Mum's room, always greets her as they walk passed. Overall, the family is delighted.
I spent a long time researching care homes prior to my mother moving to Headingley Hall. This included speaking to relatives of residents, one of whom said to me "you won't do better than Headingley Hall". She was right. The staff have shown such kindness, empathy and patience towards my mother; their professionalism and the overall quality of care is outstanding. Mum has made friends, and is enjoying a great social life at 99 years old.
Headingly Hall is fantastic, all the staff are kind, friendly, and caring. All care needs were met. The care home was very clean and welcoming and I found all the staff were easy to talk to and accommodating to any changes. The meal menu is great and again any dietary needs are met. I would absolutely recommend Headingly Hall.
My mother had 11 months at Headingley Hall, where she received the best quality total care, attention, kindness and excellent socialisation and activity opportunities. In the last 10 days, the excellent end-of-life care was from staff she knew and were constant. The family felt valued, well communicated to and listened to and supported compassionately by all staff. Headingley Hall, in all aspects, was the right and best place for Mum to be, and she thrived after a lengthy period of deterioration at her own home during Covid lockdown. We could not have asked for more.
