View Full Details of Lofthouse Grange & Lodge Care HomeMy relative has lived in the care home for 2 years. We have found all the support staff and carers to be extremely helpful. The facilities at the home are of a high standard and my relative is settled and comfortable.
My husband spent 4 weeks respite at Lofthouse Grange whilst I left the country. He was well looked after and I had no worries at all about his care. I was able to facetime him a few times a week and he always looked happy. Thank you to all the team.
I have previously reviewed this care home, however following my Dad's death, I feel the need to do so again. The love, kindness and excellent care given during Dad's 3 years of living in the dementia unit were second to none. There were some challenges during that time with Dad's behaviour. The team worked alongside outside agencies to ensure that these were managed in both Dad's and other residents best interests. The team knew his interests and his favourite song and encouraged him to participate in the numerous activities as long as he was able. In his final days, the compassion and support we received were exceptional and he couldn't have been cared for better. We were so lucky that Dad lived in such a fantastic environment and was able to die there surrounded by people who cared. When he died, with no input from us, he was dressed in a shirt and tie just as he would have wanted. The feedback we received, not from Lofthouse staff, was that he looked very smart.
Mum was in Lofthouse Grange for 13 months, she was 94 years old when she first went into the home. She was very active and joined in all the activities and made friends with the other residents. For the last 3 months, Mum was on end-of-life care. All the staff and management team have been wonderful during this time. I cannot fault the care she received. They treated her with dignity, respect, love and kindness. The care and attention when she became bedbound was marvellous. They were also a massive support for us, her family. While we visited her every day, knowing she was well cared for when we weren't there was priceless. Thank you for your help and support during her last weeks and days of life.
My husband was at Lofthouse Grange until our home could be adapted. The staff are lovely and listen and care for residents. The room was in need of decoration and the bathroom needed updating.
Poor bedding and beds are rarely made before evening time.
The care that our dad received in Lofthouse Grange & Lodge was excellent, unfortunately, Dad was only in for 4 months before he sadly passed. The management & carers at the home were fantastic, they looked after him with compassion & dignity and catered to his needs, they kept us informed on every aspect of Dad's care and if they had any concerns would get in touch to let us know. Dad was on the Dementia floor, the staff were so caring with the residents making sure they were treated with dignity and respect. I loved how they would take time to ensure their hygiene was at its best even blow-drying their hair. We always felt welcome at the home and as a frequent visitor, it made each visit a pleasant experience. The cleanliness of the home was excellent the cleaners kept the place spotless, as was Dad's room. Dad's room was of a good standard as were his en suite facilities. The food was of a good Standard. An Excellent choice.
What a wonderful place Lofthouse Grange Care Home is, the management and staff were so welcoming and accommodating from the first day my late father arrived. He was treated with such care and dignity right until he passed away, the staff were incredibly professional and so caring towards my father. Nothing was too much trouble and my sister and I were made so welcome when we visited. Also the home was so clean and well-run I would highly recommend Lofthouse Grange Care Home to anyone.
My Mother-in-law has been a resident for 2 weeks now. Staff have been welcoming and are making every effort to know her and understand her needs. She was recently taken ill and staff initiated calling for advice and getting out-of-hours GP to visit. Night staff assisted by quickly getting medication and essential items together for me at 5 am to take to the hospital. Nothing was too much trouble and they have shown genuine concern. Thank you.
I am happy I can approach staff or management if I have any concerns about my mum's care. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The activities are well thought about and they try to involve as many residents as possible. I'm on the website for this care home. It's lovely I can see my mum joining in and looks to be enjoying herself. Once the gardens are tended it will be nice for residents to sit outside and get some fresh air. And family to sit outside also with there family.
Mum has started to settle and as a family we feel more relaxed but not consistently. There are senior carers that go above and beyond, however there are some who just do the basics. I have often found Mum just sat asleep with carers on their phones in the lounge. I shower Mum twice weekly due to this not being instigated by staff unless requested. Communication is very good from two staff members in particular. They really invest their time with the residents. The food recently has been better. On one occasion we had half a chicken burger, half a sausage snash and vegetables which was a really poor quality meal. A choice would also be nice. Bacon and egg for tea every Thursday when this is also offered at breakfast? Clean rooms and communal areas. It would be nice to see options to sit outside. Mum has, a patio door and we were told we could have a key but still don't have one. There is a problem with rats that needs more attention. Entertainment is good and Mum enjoys the exercise and music afternoons.
My wife has been a resident in Lofthouse Care Home for over a year and have been confident that she has benefitted from the care that I could no longer give her. It was a very difficult decision to make after almost 56 years of marriage, but I am satisfied that she is getting the best care. A member of our family visits my wife every day and has built a very good relationship with all the staff. I can sleep easy now knowing she is being well cared for.
Staff are always very helpful, friendly and ready to engage with visitors as the need may be. They communicate very effectively as and when there is a need. Although I wish my loved one, wasn't in a care home, we know she is well looked after and gets the needed care. While ever the staff are well rewarded for the care and service they provide, the place will get even better and will help to maintain a happy environment for the residents.
The home is very clean. The food is very good. The staff are brilliant. You can't ask for better people. They are there for all residents even visitors. Everyone makes you welcome. They can't do enough for you. I can not thank everyone enough for what they do. Thank you all for making my wife happy and wanted. To each and every one of you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Our experience has been mostly good. Some carers are more informative than others on how my dad has been. The home is very clean and warm with a welcoming vibe and my dad seems happy when we visit him.
Mum moved into the home in November 2022 and since then she and our family have received nothing but support, advice, comfort, professionalism, listened to and more. The staff are mostly excellent, and any concerns I’ve had have been dealt with by them in a positive manner, some of the agency staff have been a little less professional in terms of looking bored and not showing interest.
I'm writing this review to testify how wonderful the management and staff are at Lofthouse Grange Lodge. A fantastic 100 birthday party for Mum was amazing. I feel very safe knowing our mother is in such a safe environment. The Lodge is clean and comfortable and has the best staff. My mother feels at home in her relatively new surroundings. The entertainment and involvement with residents is fabulous. Thank you for making me comfortable.
Many, many thanks on the occasion of my mother's 100 years birthday. The manager and staff went above and beyond to provide a party and space for her large family to celebrate with her. A wonderful forever memory day for our beloved mother and six children and multiple grandchildren. So very grateful to The Lodge. We admire your dedication doing a super difficult job.
Very good care given. Everything my mum needs and more. Thank you to all the staff and management.
My dear mum has been at Lofthouse Grange Care Home since June 2023. It was a difficult decision for our family to place Mum in a home. The management team were very helpful with the process. They showed compassion to our family in a time when it was so needed. The carers have been great making sure Mum is well taken care of. They too are supportive and caring individuals who take the time to put smiles on the faces of the residents daily. A special shout out to four members of staff in particular just to name a few. The home recently hired an activity director. Like the other staff she has such a gift for brightening the resident's lives. Games are played, nails are painted, sing a longs with live musicians which everyone enjoys just to name few daily activities. Thank you Lofthouse Grange for caring and enriching my mum's life in her twilight years.
