View Full Details of Nesfield Lodge Dementia Care HomeI am really happy with the care and attention that my aunt gets in here. She is very happy here and all the staff go above and beyond. They are very helpful and cheerful and treat all residents with the care, respect and attention they deserve. My aunt has been here for over 7 months now and I can't praise everyone enough.
I visited my mother-in-law today at Nesfield Lodge and joined in the karaoke afternoon. She arrived on Wednesday, so this was a first for both of us. It was a truly joyful experience. Watching the staff engage with the residents was wonderful. Watching the residents engage with the music and sing was very touching. Every member of staff I spoke to was very kind and made me feel welcome and very confident about her being there. The staff singing on the karaoke were really good and made a fantastic afternoon's entertainment. Well done team.
My friend has been a resident here for a few months and I generally visit him weekly for a couple of hours. No matter what day or time I arrive, I can get parked and receive a very warm welcome with offer of any help. His room is private, comfortable and spacious. He compliments the food and looks well nourished with a healthy look. He is always dressed well and very clean, and most importantly he is happy. There is lots of entertainment on offer and fun things taking place. Everyone is well seen to and have all they need. The place is spotless, fresh smelling and good atmosphere. As for all the staff - brilliant! friendly, available, attentive, professional and very helpful !! Nothing is ever too much. It's run like clockwork and everyone is busy in a silent, seamless, stressless way - things just get done with little noise and disruption. I hope I receive this level of care if and whenever I may need it. Thanks for looking after my friend and all the others!!
Nesfield Lodge has caring staff from the manager, care workers, and kitchen staff. Everyone seems to just fit into the one big family that is Nesfield. My family member who is a resident found it hard to adjust, but everyone was very kind and supportive. I feel I can relax and know they are safe and well cared for.
Whilst visiting Mum today, I noticed all the Olympic stuff around the home, and I just have to say how wonderful the staff are and how inclusive they are with everything going on in the world. I know the manager is only with us temporarily, but she has been a brilliant asset to the home, and I wish she could stay permanently.
My mum has been at Nesfield Lodge since 2017 and, although she is declining, is still well looked after by the staff. I would like to add that the manager has been a fantastic addition to the home and has been a brilliant manager with other staff in full support of her. It will be a great shame when the manager's time at Nesfield comes to an end in August. I wish her luck for the future - Orchard - make sure you don't lose her, she is a great asset. The home is looking a little bit 'tired' but there does appear to be some sprucing up going on.
My mum was admitted to this home 4 years ago just at the beginning of covid. It was difficult at times but the staff went above and beyond to make it a more pleasurable visit. I have great admiration for all the staff as they do a wonderful caring job which at times can be difficult. Thank you doesn't always seem enough.
My husband enjoyed his time in the home. I felt he was well cared for and safe. The staff were brilliant with him, always made a fuss of him, and kept him smiling. Thank you Nesfield for caring for him and making him feel so cared for and welcome. I felt at ease knowing he would be well looked after while I was away.
A very friendly atmosphere. Very welcoming. The staff are amazing. Very professional friendly and supportive and accommodating. I felt relieved that Mum was staying in a safe place and she was getting well looked after. I was always kept informed of Mum's being. Very happy that Mum was in good hands.
My mum has been in Nesfield Lodge for nearly three years. I feel she has always received outstanding care. I can’t praise the staff enough; I feel that they go above and beyond to look after all the residents. They treat my mum with care and dignity, and she seems very happy. I always receive a friendly and warm welcome when I am visiting my mum.
Staff always helpful. A job that is not easy sometimes but the staff do incredibly well. A relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming. A range of activities is provided by the staff. Staff try to cater for residents' needs in somewhat difficult circumstances sometimes. Helping people with dementia is not easy. Everything they do for my mum is very much appreciated.
The staff are all very friendly and obviously my mother is very happy with the care she receives. She likes the music sessions and loves singing along with the other residents. The food is good quality and coffee, tea and biscuits are supplied regularly.
Always a lovely welcome from all members of staff. Any queries or concerns are swiftly dealt with. Mum always seems happy, clean and well cared for. Mum recently had a short stay in hospital and I was kept fully informed at all times day and night and can only extend my gratitude for this. Residents are treated as family and this shines through at every visit. Would highly recommend Nesfield.
I have found all members of the staff team at Nesfield Lodge to be friendly and caring. They are approachable and happy to listen to suggestions. Excellent relationships have been built with all staff. They are attentive to residents' needs and arrange activities to support and stimulate residents.
Where do I start - Our mam was put on a safeguarding ring due to neglect from this home. We've had 2 meetings with all professionals due to lies, neglect and the state of the place. Day 1 staff made it unpleasant for our mothers 1st day and family. Week 1 interim manager and deputy manager informed family and social workers our mam had attacked someone. Turned out to be a lie. Food - undercooked food after 12 weeks still not right and the manager had to take pictures from family on how to cook our mam's 'go to meal' as kitchen staff sent out shocking food. The place was filthy and we recorded wiping her room out and I presented the filth at the 2nd meeting at the council offices. Mam dressed in wrong clothes and then back to front/inside out - witnessed by intensive team. Loads more and pictures/videos to back this up. After 12 weeks we got the dreaded call she had fallen and is now in hospital with a broken hip. Avoid this place - the investigation is ongoing and papers involved.
After four years of anxiety and confusion at home, I have never seen my dad so peaceful, content and relaxed. He loves it here and doesn't want to leave!
I was recommended Nesfield Lodge by my father's social worker. I was in need of a week's respite from my 24/7 caring role and was advised that the home is particularly suited to dementia sufferers. I arranged a visit and found the staff to be very attentive and caring. They genuinely seemed to care for their residents and my decision was swayed when one of the residents told me that she used to be a carer herself in the home and now lived there - definitely a great recommendation. The home even has a pet chicken in the garden. It is bright and welcoming but its main asset is its staff and management.
Throughout this difficult time during COVID-19 and not being able to see my mother I have been at ease knowing she is getting all the care she needs. They have done so much to keep the residents occupied and safe. I cannot thank them all enough for what must be very hard work and risking their own health to care for everyone. The staff really deserve a lot of credit. Thank you.
My mum was at Nesfield Lodge for two and a half years and passed away on the 4th of March 2020. I am writing this last review to pay tribute to the outstanding staff who cared for Mum during her time at Nesfield Lodge. I can honestly say that in Mum's time at Nesfield, I did not have a single fault to find with the level of care and compassion shown to Mum and indeed to every resident. The staff at Nesfield treat residents with dignity, and as individuals and their care and happiness is a priority for each and every member of staff. My mum was my whole world, and she deserved the best of everything - she found it at Nesfield Lodge. There are no words to express the level of gratitude I have for the amazing people who have become dear friends.
Lovely home. Friendly, helpful, caring staff. Service outstanding. We consider ourselves fortunate to have found Nesfield Lodge. My mum could not be happier and she loves the food.
