All of the staff have been incredible at looking after my grandma. They are very friendly, sociable, and caring and they even went above and beyond when I took my little boy to visit. A big Thank you!
Mum is always well cared for and happy. She joins in the activities and goes on trips for lunch. She calls the residents and staff her family. There is a lovely garden to sit in when the weather allows.
I would just like to say thank you to all the care staff and caterers. You all made my mum feel so very special, loved and wanted on her birthday. You always do but made her feel so very much loved. As a family we appreciate all the work you do and we would like to say thank you.
Staff very caring and attentive. Very approachable. They listen. I feel included when social events are happening.
My mother was a resident of Rievaulx House for over a year. Although she missed living in her own flat she settled in well and was very happy with the level of care that she received and the way she was treated. The carers and other support staff were very kind to her and she always enjoyed a joke with them. Initially, she was upstairs but we requested a move downstairs and she was happier as she could sit outside in the garden. She enjoyed doing the crafts with a particular member of staff who works very hard to entertain the residents. The lounge was always trimmed up to fit occasions and my mam appreciated this. As a family, we are very happy with the level of care and kindness that she received and we always found the staff nice and friendly when we visited. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rievaulx House to anybody who were looking for somewhere for a loved one to be looked after.
The manager and staff are and were very helpful when I asked them for something relating to my brother and my mum and another care home. They were very helpful.
Carers are lovely, residents love the staff and I think they are very welcoming. When I first came in, the lounge was sticky, it was cleaned up shortly after. I do understand the staff can be really busy but the lounge is very unclean. The resident's room is great, it's got everything he needs.
Always had a good impression of the facility when I've visited. Staff are always friendly and obliging upon meeting despite working under difficult conditions and hours sometimes. The resident has settled in now and is well cared for which is all we can ask.
This home is always clean and tidy. All of the staff always very helpful and kind. Nothing is too much trouble.
Overall, everything is good, except the carpets, the one in my mother-in-law's room is filthy and stained really badly. I know the cleaning staff go in and do their best to clean it, I've seen them, but it's way past being able to be cleaned and has been that way since she moved into that room, it also bothers her.
My dad is currently at Rievaulx House. He’s okay and still does a lot for himself. There are some really good staff members here. My dad has regular visits from our family, he sees at least one of us every day. The only thing I would like for him is if he could move downstairs, so he could go out more often. The only concern I have is sometimes I feel like if I don't check my dad for things like cellulitis it goes undiscovered. I’d like to thank the good staff for their hard work, as caring for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s is hard, but also rewarding.
My uncle needed to go into care due to his dementia. I had a very bad experience with a care home before Rievaulx House and was really worried, both about having to move him at the age of ninety years old and knowing very little about this home. I honestly had nothing to worry about. The management are fantastic and this shows with their staff. They made both Uncle and myself really welcome from day one. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always happy to talk to me. They are happy and friendly and l often hear them talking to other residents, not knowing l am in my uncle's room, with so much kindness and compassion. I can not give this place enough stars, they have taken so much stress and worry off my shoulders. If you are looking for a care home for any loved one, please go and visit for yourself and meet the manager and her team. You will be made welcome and l am sure you will not be disappointed.
I have been at Rievaux House for about 4 weeks. I have settled really well with help from staff and family. Staff are friendly and welcoming and reassuring for me. The staff are patient and supportive.
Throughout December the staff encouraged my uncle to get into the spirit of Christmas joining in on various games, Christmas movies and Christmas Party. Everyone taking part had a fantastic time with family members and supported staff. Live entertainment ensured a lot of dancing was encouraged and enjoyed.
I come every week to see my friend and she is very happy and settled. She has made friends with other residents. I know she is well looked after and safe. Her memory is so much better with being with people and company. I would recommend anybody to Rievaulx House it is friendly and caring to all.

My mum has been a resident of Rievaulx House for several years. Over that time she has always received the best care from the wonderful staff at this home where nothing is too much trouble. Her room is large with an en suite bathroom and is kept spic and span by the hard working team. As are all the shared public areas. She has a great choice of meals which she really enjoys and they do crafts and games on a regular basis. Before the pandemic, there were regular visiting entertainers and trips out. Hopefully, these can be started again when safe to do so. It gives my sister and I massive peace of mind to know that our mum is so well looked after 24/7 by such caring people. The staff at Rievaulx House have done an amazing job over the last 18 months during the most difficult of times and we can't praise or thank them enough.
My mum has been a resident at Rievaulx House since October 2020. During this time we couldn't be more delighted with the care she receives every day. She is very well looked after by the amazing team with every detail catered for, nothing is too much trouble. Communication with us is excellent, we have always been kept up to date with developments during the very challenging pandemic. Mum is very happy, she absolutely loves the home-cooked food and is very content in her day to day life, which we as a family are extremely grateful for. Her room is spacious, light and airy and the facilities, in general, are excellent. Each and every member of the care team we have met have shown kindness, professionalism and a genuine desire to make Mum's stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Someone recommended Rievaulx House to our family and we are very pleased they did, we can't recommend Rievaulx House highly enough.
My mum has been a resident at Rievaulx House since March 2020. This has been a very stressful time for all the family, it is comforting to know that Mum is safe and well looked after by all the staff. Video calls have helped ease our fears. Visits are now being allowed via the testing system, so we cannot wait to visit Mum in person.
