Made Mum at home as soon as she moved in, it was initially only for a weeks respite while I went on holiday, she booked herself another weeks stay. As luck had it was able to stay full-time and she loves the place, she does have favourite staff though but I have found them all very nice and they appear to go well above their job titles, well done the manager for her training and getting the correct staff, nothing is too much trouble for guests safety, especially with Covid regulations.
The care staff is amazing. The residents are made to feel they are at home and not in a care home. Great communication with family. Cymar is relaxed and personal which is more important than fancy furniture etc. The staff makes the place a great place to be. I feel safe knowing Mum is so safe and well cared for and most importantly, she is happy.
Since my sister came into Cymar Castleford she has been treated really well ready to help and considerate. The care is absolutely fabulous couldn't ask for more.
The staff are very friendly and get on with the residents. They are constantly busy. The rooms are good and residents can customise them. The cleaning staff are very good and friendly. There is good entertainment with singers, bands and Salvation Army in to entertain. Doctors and nurses are always on call and very polite. Overall an excellent home. Like all homes, just wish there were more staff. Good variety of food.
We needed a secure EMI facility that could accommodate my Mum - she has Vascular Dementia and had been sectioned under the mental health act. We visited a number of care homes and were not impressed by any until we saw Cymar House. The home was clean (it smelt nice too) and management and staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and down to earth. Cymar really does offer excellent value for money. The food is good and plentiful (my mother often has 'seconds') and they have a regular drinks/snacks trolley service between meals. There's an enclosed garden which is lovely during the summer. The home employs an Activities Manager who ensures there's always something for the residents to get involved in (they have outings too). The staff know their residents really well and nothing is too much trouble for them. When Mum began to exhibit challenging behaviour, staff and management worked with doctors to find a drug regime that helped my Mum continue to enjoy a good quality of life.
