View Full Details of Inwood HouseWe looked at a number of homes before choosing Inwood for our dad. We wanted him to be somewhere homely, welcoming, safe and caring and where we could visit freely and all feel at home. Inwood is just what we wanted! Although dad was only resident for a few months before he passed away, dad was really well cared for and mum welcomed to visit and be part of the Inwood family. The home is bright, clean and cheerful and the staff are person centred, treating each resident as an individual.
My mother became a resident on 02/01/2025 she has very quickly settled in thanks to your wonderful team. The whole process for contact, visits and admissions has been friendly and professional. All her needs have been identified and sorted. Thank you!
Lovely, accommodating family home. My uncle is extremely happy at Inwood. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Care given is absolutely fabulous, we enjoy visiting as a family. Fun had by all, the activity coordinators are great and offer a variety of engaging and meaningful activities. Thank you to all at Inwood.
It has been a lovely place for mum taking the stress out of everyday living whilst she got better and stronger. Beautiful room, building, bright and cheerful, very clean in every area and friendly, professional staff. (special note for staff in the office and reception). Mum has loved the food and has looked forward to her meal and put weight on for the first time in many years. "Well done Inwood"
My father-in-law moved into Inwood House on 8 July and in the short time that he's been here I've found the staff to be very helpful, polite and they help with everything. Keep up the good work.
Both my Mum and Dad were at Inwood House from 2018, my Dad passed away in 2022 aged 96 and my Mum in February 2024 aged 99. Since they moved in they both enjoyed their time there, my Dad was always very enthusiastic about the food. I visited regularly and the staff, many of whom recognised me and were always kind and helpful and went out of their way to make the visit meaningful for everyone. Before I chose Inwood House for my Mum, she had been discharged into other homes and when I visited, she usually pleaded for me to take her out. At Inwood the facilities were nice and the staff ratio meant my parents got the attention and interaction when they needed or wanted it, the staff all knew them personally by name. If my time comes when I need caring for I hope I can some somewhere like Inwood House.
All the staff are really friendly and welcoming. My dad has been in Inwood House for a year this month and he is still happy being there. Staff seem to genuinely care about the residents. My dad often mentions the carers do a good job of looking after him and he says that they understand his needs.
I chose Inwood House after visiting 5 other care homes in Wakefield. I knew as soon as I walked in that it was the place for mum. The staff are so lovely and caring, mum talks about the care she receives and how the staff spend time with her. I attended a family event yesterday with the event's coordinator and the community nurse, it was very informative and enjoyable, mum really enjoyed it, she introduced me to her friends and interacted with other residents' families. Mum's room has just been redecorated in the colour she chose and she is thrilled with it. Mum's happy so I am happy.
Clean, comfortable, nice decor, friendly staff.
My mother lived at Inwood House from August 2017 until her death recently in November 2023. She entered with mild dementia and moderate care needs, but over the years, both the dementia and her physical and medical needs increased significantly. The staff at Inwood House were absolutely superb in the levels of care, compassion and love that they showed to my mother throughout her entire period with them. As her care needs increased, and her ability to communicate suffered, they continued to treat her like a person and part of the 'Inwood family'. The account was taken at all times for her frailty and the necessary changes in her diet due to problems with swallowing. During the last few weeks, when she was bedbound and had difficulty even drinking, she received near-constant care and attention. I could not have asked for a better environment for Mum to live with her dementia and, ultimately, to pass away.
We are very impressed and pleased with the excellent care given to my sister at Inwood House, Horbury. You will tell from the options marked below how we rate Inwood House, Horbury. Thank you so much for everything.
The care home is in need of decorating and repair in some areas. The smell on some days makes your eyes water and is unacceptable in this day and age. On the whole, staff are good and caring but basic hygiene sometimes lacking. Staff seen eating residents' meals from food trolley. Buzzers not answered in a timely manner. Overall, not worth the high cost of care.
My mum is happy here and likes everyone who helps her. She joins in with the activities and especially enjoys the singing and the visiting singers/musicians. I am comfortable that she is looked after well, and I find everyone very approachable if I have any queries.
This is my father-in-law's second time at Inwood House Care Home. We had to admit him at short notice due to his wife being admitted to hospital. The management went out of their way to help me sort things out quickly to ensure his care was in place quickly. Whilst he was there, the staff were caring and treated him with great dignity.
My uncle loved his time at Inwood and improved dramatically. It is a testament to the excellent care that he received that he was able to return home after a four-month stay. All the staff were incredibly caring and vested in him getting better. He was treated with respect and dignity. I would recommend Inwood wholeheartedly.
Superb facilities and superb staff. Staff are all very caring and approachable. Mum thought the world of the staff and was always very happy while at Inwood House. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care and attention they always gave Mum.
Inwood House was a lovely care home, my mother really loved her time there. She felt very happy and everyone was so kind and caring. She loved the food and her room. She loved how the staff took care of her. Her end of life care at the home was cared for with dignity, kindness and compassion towards my mother and us as a family. Many thanks
We are happy with the care provided. The staff have shown compassion and care throughout the admission process. The managers have made what we found a very difficult decision a lot easier and have been very welcoming.
The overall surroundings and atmosphere at Inwood are very pleasant. Covid rules are strictly adhered to. Mum settled in quickly mainly due to the lovely, hardworking care staff who I cannot praise highly enough. Mum says they are all very friendly and helpful. She also says the food is very tasty. However, the manager/office staff are rude and unfriendly, such a shame they let the home down. If not for the receptionist, I would have had no help at all.
I enjoy living at Inwood, the staff are very nice and caring.
