View Full Details of The SycamoresAwful. My mum went into hospital severely dehydrated. Her legs were a mess. Hospital couldn't believe it. Thought she was going to die. New home now can't believe the care she gets now, how much better she looks. Not once as she asked to us throw her a window. All time in that home she said it. She's smiling all the time and speaker loads to us again. They was reported to CQC and social direct, with photos!!!
My mum has been in Sycamores for just 3 weeks and the care she is receiving has been excellent. So far I have nothing but praise for the care staff. Plus mum has settled in well and loves the staff.
The manager and the care team at The Sycamores have helped to nurse my mum back to health after a bad fall in hospital. She stayed in the home for 9 weeks until her shoulder fully healed and she has improved a lot since she went in for respite care. By adjusting her medications and getting her appropriate medical help they helped her to get enough rest and nutrition to help her heal from her accident. The carers are lovely. I feel that maybe her clothes could have been washed more often and she could have been encouraged to do a bit more physical activity.
My mum has been here for four months, she is happy and very quickly made the decision whilst here on respite that she wanted to stay permanently. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Mum came to The Sycamores in February 24 after a long stay in hospital due to a broken hip. This became her final home before she passed away. The care the staff gave to Mum was outstanding. They catered for her needs and even provided her with lovely home-cooked meals that were gluten-free. The staff went above and beyond in making sure Mum was comfortable and even providing an onsite hairdresser. It was lovely to see Mum smiling while she was there with the friendly sycamore team. I will miss seeing everyone now my mum is no longer there. Thank you for being there for Mum.
My mother was in the home for a short time in an assessment bed. She became very ill and died unexpectedly. My sister and I were able to be with Mum to the end. The staff and management were exceptional, kind and respectful to my mum and my family at all times. My mum passed in peace and in a caring environment.
After an extended hospital stay and after many years of ill health, Mum came to The Sycamores on a respite basis. From the very start it became quickly apparent that this was a very special place, managed and staffed by an exceptional team of people who had the care, dignity and well being of the residents at the very core of their souls. My family and I will forever be indebted to the Sycamores team who treated us as well as Mum with kindness, respect and genuine care. Thank you.
Have always found the staff very welcoming and pleasant.
I am very pleased with the care my mum is receiving at The Sycamores. They look after her really well and tend to her needs. They are quick to take action when it is needed and contact the necessary people when there is a problem.
My aunt was placed at The Sycamores for temporary respite care. Oh wow. I was so grateful, so taken aback at the support. Kindness from everyone who works there. Not only does my aunt want to stay there permanently, they have agreed to a full-time place for her. After only a short time, my aunt is living not existing. The care and dignity she is treated with is outstanding. I cannot thank them enough.
Cannot fault The Sycamores at all. Mum has settled in lovely. She's safe and well looked after. The staff are amazing, very professional, and very understanding of Mum's needs. Always a smiley face when I visit. The main thing for me is "Mum loves it here and understands this is her home.". I'm involved in all her needs and the staff notify me of any changed. The food is lovely and plentiful, the home is spotless. !00% in everything in my opinion.
My great aunt was placed into The Sycamores following a short admission in hospital. Not knowing whether she would stay permanently, the staff welcomed her with such kindness, dignity and care. Just after a short amount of time, she feels secure and safe again. She's started to become herself again, smiling and laughing. Thank you for everything you do. Keep doing such an amazing job.
Our mum was a resident at The Sycamores from February 2024 until she sadly passed away there on the 7th of April. As a family, we have nothing but praise for the manager and his dedicated team. He made a difficult time in Mum's life and our lives easier to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble, and he would have moved mountains to get Mum anything she required. We said that the staff at The Sycamores became Mum's second family, and the love they had for Mum was there to see. It is always a worrying time when your loved one becomes a care home resident as it's the unknown and you trust people who you don't know to care for your loved one, but from day one, it was more than obvious that Mum was in good hands. Mum was treated with love, respect and dignity, and we won't ever forget the truly amazing manager and his team for caring for Mum and us.
Just want to say thank you to all the staff and the team for looking after my grandma and thank you for everything you have done for her. It means a lot to me that they are so caring towards everyone and that they are so kind and respectful.
I have to be honest, my biggest fear and that of my mother herself was for her to end up in a residential care home. It was always a case of, “God Forbid!” I must say, I am delighted with the way my mum has settled into the home. She is healthier, and happier and has fewer complaints about her welfare. It is important in our latter years that we have dignity and respect for and from the people around us. My mum is a very sweet lady, (a retired nurse), there is a role reversal now though. I am happy she is happy and the staff are pleasant and empathetic to both friends and family of the residents, accommodating a home-from-home environment as much as possible. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Sadly, my beloved godmother has died, for me, it is very important to review The Sycamores because it became my auntie's home. She was treated very well as a valued human being and despite the severe pain she was in, I saw her happy as could be, even laughing and joking to the end. This was possible because of the home she was in.
The carers at The Sycamores are very caring to my relative. They make her life worth living. She has her hair done every week, nails painted and chiropody, these things make her feel so much better about herself.
Not always dressed properly. Items go missing i.e. dentures lost and never found. Room floor is very uneven.
This care home is very friendly and welcoming. My mum is very well cared for and any problems we have ever encountered have been dealt with in a professional manner. In my mum's words, she is very happy and settled at The Sycamores.
The Sycamores has always been a warm and friendly place to visit, management and staff are always helpful and approachable at any time. A remarkable improvement has been made in the overall cleanliness and freshness on arrival. Keep up the good work. Well done.
