The Green at Ellerker were very helpful when my father who has dementia fell at home and broke his leg and required 24-hour care. The staff were all extremely helpful and kind when he went in for respite care till he was back on his feet again. It was so satisfactory that he is now staying there for the immediate future or even permanently. The rooms and quality of food are extremely good. We cannot thank them enough as we now have peace of mind.
I cannot praise "The Green" highly enough. I spent five weeks there following discharge from hospital prior to being able to return home. The care was exemplary, every member of staff treats each resident with care, consideration, dignity and love. The building is light and airy without that institutional feel and the fresh, home cooked food is really first class. There is an overall impression of calm with each resident allowed to decide how to spend their time, there is no pressure to conform. When the weather allows, there is a lovely, enclosed garden to enjoy. The rooms are comfortable with views over the garden, the surrounding countryside or over the green of the delightful and peaceful village of Ellerker. If necessary, I would be very happy to return.
My Dad needed non-weight bearing bed rest for 12 weeks after breaking his pelvis in the hospital. We viewed several homes before we found The Green Care Home. We were so happy when we found it as it was so lovely and clean and welcoming. No horrid smell or sadness which we had experienced when searching. My Dad settled well and the staff are wonderful and kind. From the kitchen staff to the cleaner, the carers and district nurses all lovely hardworking staff who are dedicated. The food was lovely and the staff had time to sit with the residents and there was lots of laughter. My Dad had to go back into hospital and sadly died 3 weeks ago but he really enjoyed his time in The Green and would have liked to have gone back if it had been possible. He had fond memories of the staff and mentioned them often. I am truly grateful to everyone at The Green for taking such good care of my Dad and making his time there happy and settled. Thank you x
I have found the staff at The Green to be genuinely caring and compassionate people who are able to establish and build up very good relationships with the residents. My impressive is the staff work together as a team, including the cleaners and cooks, to meet the needs of the resident. I have found the manager to be professional in carrying out her duties and were thorough in their care planning and paperwork. I feel the staff have a good understanding of dementia and treat residents as individuals with respect.
My mum likes the home and is happy here, she said if we're happy she's happy.
I am always happy to be here when my daughter is away. I am happy with the room whichever it is. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The food is very good and tasty.
Staff are always very friendly and welcoming.
