View Full Details of White Rose Lodge Retirement HomeWe came to visit our landlady on numerous occasions and always treated with respect as, our landlady was treated. We found your care home to be one of the best we have been in. Food excellent as we, that is myself and my husband, had dinner on many occasions. We thank you for making us welcome.
The setting is absolutely outstanding. Nice grounds and lovely views. Staff efficient, kind and helpful. The food and choice are wonderful. It's assuring that she's being well cared for.
I have always found their care and attention to detail excellent, nothing is too much and they always have treated both my mum and myself with respect and professionalism. I have always felt Mum was in a safe and caring environment. I feel I have always been involved in Mum's care plan.
I would highly recommend White Rose Lodge. All the staff including carers, nurses, chefs, property maintenance, administration and management are all equally easy to communicate with and treat Mum with care and respect at all times. The home itself is kept in immaculate condition. All rooms and public areas are spotless and smell wonderfully clean. Having personally eaten in the dining room I can also state that the food served is of a very high standard.
This is five-star plus care. The home is clean and safe. The carers are excellent as are all the staff. My room is ensuite with TV and Wifi furnished to a high standard. It is cleaned daily with clean towels provided. Activities provided daily. The food is excellent with residents having a choice. With a garden overlooking the sea and a summer house, all your needs are met. A lovely pleasant place to be. Perfect for respite, more so for long-term care. I will be sad to leave when I get back to independent living.
I had a very pleasant two week's respite care in White Rose Lodge Retirement Home. My only complaint was the fitted bed sheet came loose every night. This was resolved the second week when a mattress cover was fitted. Many thanks.
The food is good. The staff are pleasant. Enjoyed my stay because I cannot look after myself.
I remember the relief of a comfortable bed with a duvet after several weeks in hospital, and just warmth. My window looked out over the sea and on a nice day, my son and I sat outside! My ensuite room was so convenient too. I soon got used to joining other residents for meals in the dining room and a fellowship meeting once a week.
I have been a resident at White Rose Lodge for approximately three years and nine months, after just under six years at another care home. This is a lovely place and we are very well looked after and entertained. As in other places, at present, we inevitably suffer from a shortage of staff due to a lack of government funding for social care, the increasing pressure of twelve-hour shifts, combined with more and more elderly residents who are more physically frail, often suffering from a degree of dementia and needing more nursing care.
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at this facility. The place was light and fresh, ad there was a very friendly atmosphere all around, especially from the staff. It's easy to imagine such places to be sad or perhaps dull, but not only did I encounter a lot of laughter and friendship, I also felt it was very homely and colourful, certainly a nice place to live for anyone. Hearing from my grandmother, it seems she is in agreement.
My auntie was very happy at White Rose Lodge Retirement Home. She always spoke very highly of the staff. We didn't see her that often but spoke to her on her mobile. You kept her family updated with any concerns and this was appreciated.
The staff are friendly, especially the receptionist who is always pleasant.
As ever a lovely home, good food and care. The only problem is the lack of ability of the staff to keep track of residents' belongings. As the resident, in this case, has incontinence I left him 11 pairs of trousers. Initially, 4 were returned, on query, another 3 were found. The other 4 were never returned.
White Rose Lodge has been such a lovely home for my mum. A quirky building (award-winning) with spectacular views out across the bay and sea. There's a gorgeous summer house at this cliff-top position with people and activities passing close by. All the staff have been so professional, kind, caring, thoughtful, considerate and cheerful. The end of my mum's life was peaceful, calm and just as she wanted. I am very, very grateful.
My mother spent the last three and a half years in the care of White Rose Lodge Retirement Home. My family and I are in no doubt that her life was extended because of the care and comfort on all levels shown to her. She was extremely happy there, what more can one ask for when coming to the end of one's life?
Overall experience is very favourable. The premises, bedroom and bathroom are very clean. The food is very good (indeed exceptional - well-cooked, good range of vegetables and varied menu, meat is tender and not gristly). The staff seemed genuinely caring but I did not personally meet many during my visits. The site itself has great appeal.
Friendly and caring, look after Dad well.
The girls were very nice and helpful, I had help when needed and was grateful.
I have been visiting a resident and taking her out for a few hours each week. My experience at the care home has always been positive. Staff always follow current guidelines appropriately and are professional and welcoming. The resident always seems to be happy living there and has never relayed anything other than positive views.
From the first day my mum went to White Rose Lodge I can honestly say that the staff went out of their way to make my mum feel settled, at home and cared for. I noticed the difference in my mum almost immediately as she was quite depressed before going into the home and within days she was much brighter and cheerful. The home provides excellent facilities, food, activities and a sense of belonging. When talking about White Rose my mum who is 90 talks about the "hotel". After six weeks, my mum is still very happy there and I honestly can't say a bad word about the home or the staff who care for my mum. I wouldn't complain if I ended up there myself!
