View Full Details of The Grove Care HomeOver and above for Valentines day lunch.
The Grove is a beautifully kept home. Warm and comfortable. I'm told the food is good. But the best thing about it is the staff. They are kind and generous with their time and without exception seem happy in their work. A wonderful thing in this day.
Mum moved into The Grove Care Home in November. I cannot put into words how much improvement there has been in mum. She is talking to us, interested in things around her, thoroughly enjoying the activities, mum is always encouraged and included in things. Mum looks smartly turned out, all the staff treat her with dignity and respect and they are always around to answer any quires we may have. I cannot thank everyone but this starts from the top. Thoroughly happy to leave mum when we have visited.
We arrived to visit my brother-in-law at 1030 and found him still in bed, needing toileting, unable to find his call button and unable to reach the wall-mounted pull cord. I pulled the cord, a carer arrived to acknowledge the call within 10 minutes and others arrived at 1055. Shortstaffing as usual, profits before care.
Joined my sister to celebrate her birthday, which I had been approached about by two particular members of staff earlier in the week, offering the coffee club as a location for family and friends to join her in a private location within the care home. We were greeted by another member of staff who had prepared a decorated table and room and served us a beautiful meal. We couldn't have had a better venue - first class.
We celebrated Mum's 97th birthday as a family in the 'coffee club'. We were extremely well looked after by our hostess and had a delicious meal, a main course, dessert and tea/coffee. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed and Mum really enjoyed it. It was a lovely way to celebrate. The staff, as always, were wonderful.
We visited Mum to celebrate her 97th birthday and had lunch in the Coffee Club. We had a super time - the new refurbishments are excellent, the hostess and all the staff were top class, the food and service were superb. Mum had a really lovely time. Thank you to all at The Grove.
Had a lovely evening meal in the cafe with Mum and her close friends plus my brother who was visiting. This was a 'private dining experience. The food was wonderful and so was the service. The chef was a lovely hostess who looked after us beautifully.
Dad is settling and enjoying all the Grove has to offer. Found him on Monday sitting outside with a sombrero and a long cool drink after having a great BBQ. Often will find him enjoying various board games, card Dominoes with a friendly group of residents, a quiz or game, and some physical. The Grove has a nice feel for this type of socialising for those residents who want or need these interactions. There is always the tea trolley with cheery staff who deliver and cater for each resident. All the while in the background the staff are efficiently doing the day-to-day home caring, cleaning interacting. I have found all the staff happy to help and aware of what’s going on with Dad. Feel lucky we found this place for him.
The important thing is that my partner seems to be settling so quickly and has nothing but kind words for the staff and her surroundings.
This care home is truly amazing. My mum has settled so well and the staff are caring and kind. The food is nothing short of amazing. Hairsalon is a reasonable price and every aspect of daily life is catered for. The rooms are immaculate which is a credit to the cleaners and most of all unlike other care homes the place doesn't smell of urine. Well done to you all.
Mum has been happy at the Grove for over 2 years now. We have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and we are confident that she is being cared for in a caring and safe way. When we go and visit we are always made to feel welcome and when we are taking Mum out the staff make sure that she is in her wheelchair, ready and waiting.
Would have thought 5 star rating would say it all. Having started with a different care home can definitely recommend The Grove. Always staff on hand should they be needed. I no longer need to deal with her laundry as previously. She is very satisfied with her meals and snacks. Tea and snacks being something that didn’t happen previously.
My father was recently admitted to The Grove for permanent residential care. He has reached the age of 94 and, much as he would have liked to continue living independently, he realised that this was no longer an option due to his failing health and mobility problems. Both he and our family were naturally apprehensive about the move and how he would settle. I cannot thank all of the staff enough for the time and effort they have all put in to ensure that Dad has coped with the move and integrated as well as he has. Nothing has been too much trouble for them and they have answered our questions and addressed any concerns we have had quickly, professionally and, most importantly, in a lovely, kindly manner.
It is not an easy decision to have to go into a care home. We would all rather stay in our own homes. But as circumstances change and things are sometimes beyond our control we have to face reality. The care and compassion shown to my father since he went into The Grove Care Home has been so much more than I expected. He is a very private and dignified gentleman who has adapted to his new life. This is all down to the staff at the home. Nothing is too much trouble, they do everything with a smile on their faces and positive attitude. I feel very lucky to have him close by and in a caring, clean environment.
May I please extend the thanks of all my family to the staff at The Grove Care Home for all the care and attention they have given to Mum during her stay there. We are all sure that she would like to be younger, more mobile and more independent but there only is what is and the carers have given her security and contentment. Just as important they have involved her in many activities which help her both physically and mentally. We can only hope that they are made aware of the great work that they do.
Mum always seems happy and well cared for. The staff are always friendly and helpful and I can tell that Mum has bonded with them. It's a lovely home with nice modern decor and beautiful surroundings.
I sometimes feel that the home is understaffed, especially at weekends and evenings. It often takes a very long time for staff to let you in, especially a problem when I have the service user with me (at weekends and after office hours). I often think my mother isn't encouraged to drink enough as there is often not a jug provided (unable to get a drink herself). Their response to a recent illness was excellent.
My father was reluctant to go into any care homes, but after moving into The Grove and with the help of the staff and manager, he settled in very well. The staff keep me well informed on how he is doing and as I live nine hours away those phone calls are invaluable to me. I was amazed at how well he looked when I visited, he says The Grove has everything he needs... nice clean room and good food. I don’t have any concerns, knowing The Grove will take very good care of him.
My mum is well cared for, staff are kind and very responsive to her needs. She regularly takes part in a variety of activities which she enjoys. I always feel welcome when I visit and the staff I meet are friendly and helpful. When I have had concerns about my mum’s health, the senior carers are very good at contacting the GP and keeping me informed. I have peace of mind that my mum is being well looked after.
