My downs syndrome sister has been in respite at Kirklees several times over the last 10 years and has now been made permanent since February this year. The home itself is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The people who live there are looked after very well.
My brother has been in Kirklees for 4 years now. He is treated with respect and dignity by all of the staff and they are very patient with him. It is as near to a family environment as possible and for this, we, his family are extremely grateful. I am kept updated on all aspects of his care and decisions which need to be made, are made together. The manager is excellent and I am always made to feel extremely welcome when visiting Kirklees to both see my brother or to discuss his care.
All the staff and managers are so helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond to help the needs of all the residents and their families they can never do enough so friendly. They are always doing something with the residents taking them out and having entertainment for them. They will be getting ready for Christmas now, they never stop, so so pleased with the care and attention they put in, thank you so much.
Was worried when my sister was moved from her long-term care home to Kirklees as she was settled at her old place. But I had no need to worry, as she has easily settled, and is very happy there. The staff are very caring, friendly, and understanding, and as visiting is difficult for her family, they supply transport for home visits, which is very kind and considerate. It's a weight off my mind that she is so well cared for, and my sister talks enthusiastically about her life, residents and the staff, and can only thank them for making the transition so easy for her.
Our daughter receives excellent care. She is always happy and content when we visit. The staff are wonderful. We are always made welcome and can visit any time. The other residents are always happy to see us and have a chat. The home is always clean and tidy.
Very high standard of care. Staff are all excellent. Our daughter is always treated with dignity. During the pandemic they have done a wonderful job keeping the residents safe while still giving them a a fulfilling time.
The manager has been extremely helpful in answering all my questions surrounding the support my brother needs. The manager very kindly assisted with family visits supporting the transition to Kirklees. I have no doubt about the excellent quality of care that my brother receives at Kirklees.
My sister has been a resident at Kirklees for a number of years and in recent years has experienced a few problems with her health. The staff have met her needs with the utmost care and consideration.
The staff and managers are all exceptional. Great team, warm and welcoming. Very high standard of care, making sure each service user has individual care for their specific needs also putting safety, health and hygiene for most.
My brother has lived at Kirklees for over 3 years. He has settled very well over this time. Staff are excellent, caring and friendly They try very hard to engage with my brother and are there for his every need. He loves his food which always smells good when I visit and he is kept clean and tidy.
Staff are always in uniform so service users can identify them. My daughter is always clean and looked after how I would look after her when she visits. They always try and make sure my daughter has something to eat as she is an awkward eater by going out of their way to cook her something different.
My brother has lived in Kirklees for 25 years since our mother died. He is well looked after, and the staff are friendly and helpful. He is liked and respected by the staff. He has his own room with en-suite, tv and radio where he can relax when he wants to have time to himself.
My brother-in-law has been a resident full time now for coming up to 2 years. Before that, he came for respite for the odd weekend. I've always found the staff very friendly and helpful. If toiletries are needed or pads they ring in advance. During COVID the staff have worked extremely hard and have always allowed me to see him through the window. The staff must be finding it difficult to wear PPE constantly but they are always smiling. They do try and involve my brother-in-law in activities although he's not always keen. The food and standard of hygiene is excellent. I have no concerns with my brother-in-law's care.
My sister has been a resident at Kirklees for a number of years and the care and consideration of the staff is second to none. They frequently have activities to interact with residents especially music nights when a local duo go in to sing which they all love. The food is also excellent. If any questions arise regarding care the manager will do her utmost to resolve. My sister is very happy living at Kirklees.
Happy with the care given to my sister by all the staff and management. They try really hard to get my sister engaged in activities which is quite difficult. My sister has required different types of special equipment to meet her needs that includes a special chair. This has made a huge difference to my sister and is also helping to prevent her legs and ankles from swelling. They provide good food and are quite happy to accommodate the type of meals that my sister will eat. Overall I have confidence that my sister is being well cared for.
From moving into Kirklees my brother was shown kindness. The staff welcomed him from day one and he settled in straight away. Kirklees have cheerful staff, they give the home a warm atmosphere. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care of my brother.
I like living at Kirklees, the staff are good.
They look after my sister very well. She is always happy when we collect her.
As a personal friend of the service user for 80 years, I know that he is very happy with his accommodation and is settled in very nicely. He has lived here for 7 years and feels very confident that he is happy which is the only thing that matters and this makes me happy.
My son uses Kirklees for respite (special needs and 1:1 care needed). All seems well. Happy to stay. Clean, kept safe, variable diet. Staff very nice, caring and friendly. Room clean and well equipt. So very happy and reassured to leave him and he enjoys his stay.
