View Full Details of Norwood HouseMy own personal experience is that my father has been treated with the upmost care and respect by all the staff. Due to his current dementia I feel they now know him more than myself which after I have been his sole carer for five years was a challenge for me. To address the food, bearing in mind dietary requirements I have witnessed meals that I would be pleased to eat that are of a consistent standard. The standards of hygiene I have never questioned there is no smell and yes windows are open but it has never been cold. All interaction with residents baths etc is recorded. Most importantly there is an open door policy of communication.
I can't recommend this care home enough. Always a very personable, friendly environment - the staff always go above and beyond and see that my mother-in-law is always happy and comfortable. It really is like a home from home. A big thank you to all the staff!
This is one of the worst care homes I've had the unfortunate pleasure of visiting. The staff was very ignorant and the level of care was shocking. My aunt stayed there and they did things like put her false teeth on a dirty cloth and put them straight back into her mouth and did not clean them even after being told this is unacceptable, yet they did this again and again. The food was disgusting and not fit for purpose. We know people who actually worked there and they bought the cheapest of the cheap to feed to the residents. No heating in the bathrooms and gave her strip washes in a freezing bathroom with the windows open and totally ignored our requests for things to be done. The staff just did the bare minimum they could and just did not care. All the things they list on the site they do not have but are still listed on the site. If you care about your loved ones do not put them in this care home as all they want is the money and do not care in the slightest.
Management and staff are very helpful. I felt that my husband was in a safe environment.
Mum has been in Norwood House since the end of October 2019. We couldn't have chosen a better care home for her. All the staff are fantastic and do a great job. No matter how busy they are, they make time for everyone, the residents and their families. Our family has a great deal of respect and admiration for everyone working at Norwood House.
The staff here are all very caring, and nothing is too much trouble for them. My mum needs a lot of care as she is bedridden and gets in a lot of pain frequently, but if she presses her call button, they come to her as quick as possible and get her the pain relief she needs. I would recommend Norwood House as the best home in the area to come into, everyone is treated with respect, resident and relatives.
Norwood House is amazing. I would recommend to anybody who needs someone to look after their family member. The service is impeccable and the staff are very nice. The events that occur in the care home are very good and thoughtful towards the residents. Altogether I love the place and will go there when I in need of looking after. Keep up the great work!
Lovely personality takes an interest in my mum. Kind, attentive.
The staff at Norwood House are wonderful, always cheerful and positive. The house has a very homely feel - residents can have a cup of tea and a snack when they want and the dining area is set up like a cafe. My sister and I both leave overseas, so knowing that mum is safe and cared for is really important. The staff are like family for her and they keep always us up-to-date on how our mum's going. Thank you everyone at Norwood House!
Lovely staff, always time for residents and visitors. The care home is always clean and tidy. All the food and meals are good. The management always has time to talk to us. No issues at all well pleased with everything.
Norwood House is a truly homely place to stay and to visit. The philosophy of the Norwood family is truly borne out in the way that staff interact with the residents, their families and each other. Knowing my dad is being cared for with such kindness means the world.
Very satisfied with everything. Carers are wonderful to mum.
A big thank you to everyone at Norwood House for all the care and dedication shown to both of my parents whilst in the home. I would highly recommend Norwood House to anyone looking for additional care to meet their needs.
During a four year period between 2014 to 2018, my uncle was a resident of Norwood House. During this time the home provided excellent care of him, staff and management were always friendly and efficient. I would fully recommend Norwood House to anybody looking for care.
During the time my uncle resided at Norwood House we were highly delighted with the standard of care from management down to staff. The cleanliness was very good and the food was very good. During the final weeks of my uncle's life, the staff went above and beyond what was expected of them. They maintained his dignity and treated him with respect and tenderness, and helped him and the family through a difficult time. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for respite or residential care. I would like to thank the management and their team of highly skilled staff.
Sincere and heartfelt thanks to all staff involved in the care of my dear friend. He was always treated with utmost respect and tenderness. The staff kept him clean and comfortable during his stay. It really was a "home from home". Bright rooms, spotlessly clean and fresh. All residents were looked after and staff available at all times with encouragement and activities every day. Excellent meals and family support.
This care home seems to employ good caring people. It has a good friendly welcoming atmosphere within and is well run. I think a firmer focus on activities designed to fit with each and every resident where possible, on a routine basis, would further improve this caring home. Thanks for the care and support over the many years.
Norwood House was chosen for my dear dear friend for several reasons. It was clean and efficient, the staff were extremely friendly and patient with everyone and they made you feel so welcome and part of their home. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is having to leave their loved one in the care of others.
My mum was a resident for 2 and a half years up to her passing on the 19th of October. The home is friendly and inviting, I was made to feel part of the family as this is what it feels like. I visited most days and could whenever I felt the need and still do. Mum was very happy at Norwood House. I would recommend Norwood to anybody. I had to travel every day but it was worth it.
My mother spent the final years of her life at Norwood House and was always treated with great respect and friendliness. She did not have dementia but had restricted mobility and partial sight and the staff encouraged her to be as independent as possible. She died in April 2017. My sister and I spent the last 2 weeks of her life by her bedside. During that time all the staff were fantastic, including the cleaners! They regularly checked on her even though we were there and often just came in to say goodbye when they finished their shift for the day. There were issues over medication and the staff went out of their way to sort it out with the doctors and make my mother's final days as comfortable as possible. The staff also treated my sister and I like friends rather than just visitors and they have stayed in touch. In addition, the house is always scrupulously clean and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated to provide a stimulating atmosphere. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
