View Full Details of Alba RoseI have been taking my husband to Alba Rose for the last six weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays. The staff are brilliant, helpful, caring and remember your name! The activities run by a particular staff member in the morning and afternoon are really good. Clients are not left on their own with nothing to do but sleep!
Having had a fall, I realised I couldn't manage on my own, so went into Alba Rose for a couple of weeks. The care of the staff was 5 star, nothing was any bother to them. I had a lovely room, was very impressed with the care that was given to everybody.
Our relative is extremely well looked after. When she was unwell recently, the doctor was called promptly. The staff seem friendly and kind. The food seems very good, and although it is a small home, they appear to have activities most days.
I cannot praise Alba Rose and every single member of the team highly enough! My 93-year-old mother was reluctant to leave her own home, where she was struggling to manage, so we eased her into Alba Rose gradually with daycare and then onto being a full-time resident. Every single member of the team helped make this a fairly easy transition, and now Mum would not like to be anywhere else. She looks forward now to each new day and never feels lonely or isolated anymore, and, more importantly, for her and her family, she is and feels very safe. Who would have thought that at the age of 93, you can have a new lease on life... Alba Rose has made that possible!
I have been very pleased and impressed with the care and thoughtfulness shown towards my mother (Who passed away in Alba Rose in October 2022) and my father (still a resident and 95 years old) since they called Alba Rose home in December 2020. The management and all of the carers have shown wonderful patience, love and understanding to both of my parents. They have also shown tremendous respect and thoughtfulness and been helpful, without complaint, to both myself, my sister, and other relatives and friends who have visited Alba Rose. Communication is brilliant, and the attention to detail is faultless. My parents really could not have been in a better place.
My mum, who lives with Alzheimer’s, moved into Alba Rose at fairly short notice, in January, and from the initial contact to today I have had nothing but admiration for the staff and management of the home. They are kind, caring, efficient, and helpful. The house and mum’s room are always spotless, tidy and fresh-smelling. The food and snacks are freshly prepared by a wonderful kitchen team and served with courtesy and an awareness of personal preferences. Activities are offered every day and include trips out in the home’s own minibus to (amongst others) coffee shops, gardens, the moors, and more recently a weekly singing therapy session. Relatives are invited to meet up with their loved ones on these trips, which makes them into more of a treat for the residents, and a nice relaxed way of spending time with family. I feel so blessed to have my precious mum close by and to know that she is content, safe and being well cared for and that I can see her whenever I choose.
My grandma has been a resident in Alba Rose since January 2022 and it was unsafe for her to live on her own after living a very independent life. It was a huge change for her (and me) but the management and staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and understanding. She receives fantastic care from all departments including, housekeeping, brilliant home-cooked meals, medicinal care, daily activities, and organised trips and events all overseen by a great management team. Grandma is not the easiest sometimes but the staff do their upmost to keep her upbeat and bring the best out in her. At 91 I hope she has many more years to come at Alba Rose. Thank you to all the staff.
My mother has lived at Alba Rose for several months now and I honestly cannot think of a single area for improvement. There is a great team of staff who are professional, cheerful, and caring. Staff turnover seems to be extremely low so they get to know the residents (and relatives) very well. My mother's quality of life has improved enormously since she started living at Alba Rose and staff are proactive in identifying opportunities to improve it still further. The food is brilliant and there is a broad programme of activities to appeal to all tastes and abilities. The grounds are lovely (but secure) and residents are encouraged to take advantage of them. Any medical issues are acted upon promptly. The management team is very hands-on and approachable; they know the residents as well as any of the other staff. Alba Rose is a small care home where all the staff, no matter what their role, interact with residents and relatives - nobody walks past without at least saying hello.
I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving from Alba Rose. The pleasant atmosphere in this home is very uplifting, the staff seem very caring and happy in their work. The residents have lots of activities to look forward to throughout the day as well as many outings. My mother has settled in very well and it is a joy to see her so happy. Well done to all the staff and thank you for the care you give to my mother.
Mum has now lived in Alba Rose for 4 years and during this time her care has been excellent. The staff are caring and aware of Mum's individual needs and wishes. She was very ill recently and their treatment of both Mum and I during this time was very kind and professional. Thanks also for the trips out arranged for the residents where their families are welcome to join them. We even had an afternoon in a local pub playing dominoes last week! It is lovely to see the residents enjoying a slice of normal life and it is also a boost for their families to join in.
My mother-in-law was only with Alba Rose for a week, so I only had three or four visits myself. But it seems like an excellent care home.
Everyone showed such kindness, care and patience with Dad when he reluctantly arrived for a week's respite care. Always seemed a happy and homely atmosphere when we visited, especially over the Coronation weekend. Dad says everyone was kind and pleasant. Thank you for being so flexible and helpful when were trying to sort care out in a hurry.
Reluctant resident transformed into a happy resident due to caring staff!
All the staff have been and are exemplary in the care of my parents. My father recently passed away and the care for the family and particularly my mother was sympathetic. kind and caring.
I could not wish for better care for my mother. The staff are marvellous, so caring with all residents. They keep me informed on how Mum is doing and nothing is too much bother, whatever I ask. The home is very clean and well looked after and all meals I've seen are excellent. I have no worries about recommending Alba Rose to anyone. Well done!
The care my mother and father receive is excellent.
The standard of care is brilliant. Empathetic and caring, very professional, and well organised. The staff and management have been fantastic from day one.
Our cousin who has special needs went to Alba Rose as an emergency placement when I as her main carer suffered a heart attack. She was there from July 2021-May 2022. The Team at Alba Rose were wonderful with her during with was a difficult and uncertain time for her. The support they gave her was second to none. Spending time with her and reassuring and supporting her. This was certainly a challenging time for them which they rose to and met well. We cannot speak highly enough of the care given to her as the home is not for clients with LD but for the Elderly and specialising in Dementia Care. What should have been a short-term placement became a prolonged placement lasting 9 months partly due to Covid and no available places in the area for clients with special needs. The manager and the team did all they could to ensure her needs were met to the best of their ability. We thank them for all their hard work and kindness to ourselves and her. She is now in her forever home. Thank you all.
We could not have wished for a more wonderful place to put Dad in his final years. The care and attention of all staff is exceptional. They are always smiling and so dedicated. Nothing is a problem. I was delighted on my first visit to him to see him looking so well, happy, and putting on weight. He has settled so well and praises all the staff and loves the food. He is provided with anything he needs night and day. They keep us informed about everything. They go above and beyond their duty.
The carers are very good with Mum. Alba Rose have done as much as they can to keep covid-19 out of the home.
