View Full Details of Barchester Boroughbridge Manor Care HomeI visited my father just before lunchtime. I apologised for the bad timing. The staff made me feel welcome and suggested perhaps I could eat with my father even at such short notice. The wonderful staff sat myself and Dad down together and set a table in the conservatory lounge area. It was incredibly generous to allow us to experience this precious quality time together. Moments like this mean a lot. The food was delicious too. Many thanks.
My friend was increasingly needy - requiring all physical care including feeding. She always looked clean and tidy, well dressed and cared for. She was usually up and positioned so she could interact if she wished. With more qualified nurses or physiotherapists care could be improved - my friend developed foot drop and contractures. Overall the staff were kind and gentle in their interactions.
Fantastic place for people to call home. We didn't have chance to look round Boroughbridge Manor before my mum was taken there. We cannot believe our luck, Mum loves it there. The staff are so very kind, always a lovely warm welcome for families visiting.
Mum has Alzheimer's Disease and has been resident at Boroughbridge Manor for 2 1/2 years. Over that time, and certainly since the last CQC Assessment, there have been changes. The Management Team have been working hard to improve procedures to improve quality of care and experience for residents. Staffing is an issue everywhere in the care sector, but also the quality. All staff I have dealings with are kind, caring and work extremely hard to provide the best environment possible. All Care Homes are dealing with challenges at the moment, and there are always improvements to be made, but overall I think that Boroughbridge Manor remains the best Care Home in local area that is able to meet Mum's needs, and I cannot thank all of the staff enough.
re Value for money - I have no other care home experience to compate the fees for self funding with.
Emergency Respite was prescribed by mums district nurses and organised by the Council Adult social care team. A place was found at Boroughbridge Manor and mum has been there for a week now. Communication with the staff is excellent, they are all well presented, very helpful, kind and caring towards my mum, and other residents. I have noticed a massive improvement in mum already.! The rooms are kept immaculate, it's lovely and warm, mum is enjoying the lovely food menu, visitor drinks are readily available, even fresh cake. All the staff seem very happy in the hard career they have, so I'd also like to take this opportunity in thanking them all also.
Mum has been resident for 2 years now, and I am so pleased that I moved her to The Manor. During the last 12 months there have been issues with staff/management changes but throughout all the upheaval the staff continued to be caring, kind, and helpful. They treat Mum with dignity, and engage with her regularly in passing. I should like more interaction from the carers with her, but they do not appear to have enough time to sit and chat. The food is very good, and the numerous activities keep Mum occupied. It appears that there may have been a head office directive recently, which has reduced the number of social media entries each day, relating to daily activities. Social media is an exceptional way to keep on top of what Mum does on a daily basis. The photos not only give me peace of mind, but also help to remind Mum of activities that she has undertaken. I would highly recommend Boroughbridge Manor, the new management team have made noticeable improvements and the staff are amazing.
My father is well looked after. Good facilities. Staff are always helpful. The only thing that could improve is the gardens. This lets the home down. Also, better internet.
The care staff are gentle, kind and caring. They display endless patience. The only thing lacking is that they do not seem to have enough time to just sit and talk to any resident who is sitting along and in need of contact with someone.
I found this home to have a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff: smart, efficient, courteous and seemed happy in their work. High standards of care, hygiene and comfort apparent. The gorgeous 'scottie' dog, an essential member of the team, making it feel so homely. My brother was treated with dignity, humour and always kindness. Staff always went- the extra mile, to make life comfortable or happier. For example, taking the trouble of bringing the phone to my brother to chat with him; keeping a Christmas cake aside until family came after it arrived in the post. Switching football matches on television at the time for an important game. This despite being overworked and under paid for caring for such vulnerable people as my lovely but challenging brother. Thank you all so very much. I would rate this home to be the best on offer in the locality!!
The Manor had a warm, happy feeling as soon as we walked Dad in through the door. Dad said he thought the place felt "very jolly". My sister and I have both experienced support for us as we hope to see Dad settle in well. Dad has his own appointed carer who closely helps him each day and monitors his progress, as he familiarises to a new 'home' and routines. It is difficult for Dad to accept change at this stage of his life and settling him in can be challenging at times, but all the staff, from manager to activity, catering and maintenance staff, are to be highly commended in welcoming him and helping him to adjust to new surroundings, routines and have encouraged him to join in with the varied activities. It has been impressive to see the numerous and wide variety of activities provided daily and Dad has enjoyed his first group outing on the minibus. We are reassured to see his happy smiling face.
I was very taken with the gentle way my very fragile mum was cared for during my visit yesterday. She resides on the middle floor. She was beautifully dressed and well-presented. She isn't well and after lunch, she was put ti bed, tucked up and looked so comfortable. Her own bed linen had been used on the bed for the first time which again, touched me. The staff are gentle. Thank you everyone. Your tender care is a great comfort to me.
My Aunt was very reluctant to move into 'a home'. However, from the moment she arrived, staff went out of their way to say hello, introduce themselves and help settle her in. She is encouraged to participate in all the lovely events, but also given the chance to sit out should she wish. The regular social media postings show her confidence has built and the beaming photographs comfort us in knowing she is happy and the right choice was made for her own health and safety. All staff are approachable and she enjoys the food and other residents company. The home and rooms are spotless. I would wholeheartedly recommend Barchester Boroughbridge Manor Care home, you could not be in safer hands!
Staff are always pleasant and friendly and always helpful and kind. This is so important when you have to place a loved one in full-time care. Beautiful gardens, activities and events to join in with and contactable anytime. All over the lovely place.
Very friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. The sense of humour with my brother is great. He loves banter!
A safe environment. My sister's physical health appears better than it has been for over 10 years. Her condition is such that she has been difficult to interact with but the pragmatic management of her care minimises the impact of her mood swings whilst supporting her needs. We are reassured every time we visit as to the residence, care package and especially staff group was the right choice for my sister.
In the time Mum was resident at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home her care was exemplary. All staff were fabulous - nothing was too much trouble and any niggles were dealt with quickly and professionally. The management team went out of their way to facilitate exceptional care for Mum, especially after a stormy time of admissions to the hospital. Sadly, Mum passed away very recently but she/we wanted her to stay at the home, and the care the team gave to her and us as a family was loving and supportive, we cannot thank them enough for their kindness at this very difficult time.
This is my first experience of having a loved one in care. I have been astounded at the level of comfort and care that my aunt is receiving. Most of all, I am impressed with the daily activities which take place. I do not need to worry about my aunt's care; it is second to none. I have spoken with friends who have relatives in care homes, but they are not as impressed as I am with Boroughbridge Manor.
After a rapid decline in health and a very traumatic period of time living at home, my mum moved into Boroughbridge Manor care home late last year, from the first day of contact with the wonderful team at the care home I felt so reassured the care and support mum needed would be delivered, and every interaction since has 100% endorsed that early opinion, the wonderful care shown by every member of the team from support staff to nurses to the office team and the manager, the communication in particular on the social media group is great and shows the care and support, the fun and stimulation through activity and interaction is making such a difference to the quality of life all the residents have, it's also so reassuring to see the pictures and the team deserve enormous credit. I can only highly recommend Boroughbridge Manor care home as a place to be when your loved ones need it most, thank you for everything you continue to do, it is always very much appreciated.
I can recommend The Boroughbridge Manor for the highest accolade, they are taking great care of my father and go above and beyond to ensure he has the best care from the kindest, most caring team. The team are outstanding and has a wonderful sense of humour and is always very positive, I was worried about taking the steps for Dad to move into care but he is better now than he has been for some time and I cannot thank the excellent team enough. They are always very welcoming when family visit too and the place is immaculate in a lovely location too.
