Thank you so much for the party in the ballroom. One of my family came all the way from Sheffield to join me for lunch then another friend came to see the magic show, he was a very clever man, good at his job. Then a lovely pony came. The staff all worked very hard to give us all a lovely Halloween day - was one to remember. Thank you.
I like the food and the staff are great. I have unlimited cups of tea.
I found The Granby staff all excellent and cannot find any fault with any of the staff from management to the laundry staff. I would also like to thank all the carers that looked after my wife while in your care for the last 15 months. They could not have given her more care as I know how stubborn my wife was. They gave her good care. Thank you all for everything.
I am happy at The Granby, I have just had my 100th birthday which was very good and a surprise. There are no faults.
Everyone at The Granby is amazing and marvellous at caring for everyone. Right to the fine detail, there is always something going on to suit all. I am happy The Gramby is my home now.
The building is a beautiful building, very old but yet so modern. I am grateful for all the care.
Dad has lived at The Granby for 5 years. His needs have changed during that time but the staff have always looked after him with respect, care and compassion. He has always been happy here and felt secure and cared for.
Very clean and well-structured. Residents are friendly in a nice atmosphere.
Just up my street, I love it, quite relaxing and very good, have made great friends.
There is always people to talk to, great company. I have a nice, bright room. I join in each day with the daily activities. Everyone is lovely and friendly.
It's like home, comfortable, everyone is very nice. I really enjoy all activities and trips out, there is always something to do. Home sweet home.
Beautiful building, bright and clean. Residents' rooms are light and spacious enough for wheelchair use. Food, hospitality and activities first class. Staff caring, efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
This is probably the only genuine review from a resident. Where do I begin? Drinks get stolen by staff, and things go missing from the room. Beds not made properly, rooms not cleaned for days, no respect for your wishes of privacy. Overreach by management into your personal affairs, waiting 30 to 55 minutes for bell to get answered on average, staff not able to make a blended meal for peg users. Incompetency at every level.
A lovely home. Everywhere is decorated beautifully. Very welcoming and all of the staff are extremely helpful and kind. You are always made welcome when you visit. There are plenty of activities that the residents can do if they want to and regular visits from schools and different entertainers. If you have any worries about your relative they always take it seriously and look into it. I’m also impressed with the number of drinks they are encouraged to have as I know how important it is to keep elderly people hydrated. There are lovely outdoor spaces when the weather is good and I'm impressed with the effort the staff put into taking out residents to the shop or just have a fun trip out. It has taken a huge weight off my mind knowing that my dad is cared for and my visits to see him are now about enjoying his company.
Having felt welcome from the day I arrived, I'm happy to be here. The staff are very attentive.
The Granby is a substantial old building, which was converted into a care home and occupied a prominent position overlooking the grassland at the end of the town centre. It was refurbished/updated a few years ago and offers spacious accommodation with impressive public rooms. My mother was a resident for over ten years until she died early this year, during this time she was well looked after by pleasant, friendly and caring staff, who were particularly kind and attentive when it was apparent her health was failing and showed great compassion when dealing with the sadness and emotion experienced at this difficult time when they could not have been kinder or more helpful and supportive.
The food is very tasty. Well looked after by the care team. Very nice room and the staff are very friendly.
My 90-year-old mum was admitted for end-of-life care in June this year. Thanks to the outstanding care of the staff, she has vastly improved physical, has gradually gained weight, and in general, is very different from when she arrived at the home. It has been a pleasure to visit Mum in this wonderful environment, which I cannot praise highly enough. Thank you to all concerned in her ongoing care.
Although our mother's stay was short at The Granby, we couldn't have asked for better care or nursing. She was treated with dignity and respect at all times. The staff were very supportive and guided us through a very difficult time. Highly recommended.
I'm very happy here, I have made friends, the food is very nice and I love to enjoy the games and entertainment.
