View Full Details of The Hall Residential Care HomeThe Hall offers great activities for their residents. Today I attended the Coffee Morning, the residents had made biscuits and there were lovely cakes on offer too. The was live music and lots of people enjoying it and singing along in the garden room.
All staff are super friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble. The staff have made my Grandma truly welcome and have supported her transition superbly. My family and I have been well supported too, as it is a difficult time for all of us. My Grandma's room is beautiful, the care home is clean and the food is amazing, according to Grandma! The vast amount of activities have really helped my Grandma settle in and I can honestly say Grandma has done more there in three months than she has in years. Grandma has made some lovely new friends in the care home and it is so nice to see her sitting and laughing with them. I simply cannot speak highly enough of The Hall, it is a truly outstanding care home.
Mum came here for respite and she has been very happy with all the care and attention given to her. The activities that are available are wonderfully organised and she thoroughly enjoys them. All the staff are so kind. Thank you to the hall staff for their help.
My Mum is very happy at The Hall. Plenty of activities for the residents. The staff are very helpful. I am pleased that she is in good hands. The location is fantastic, the grounds are beautiful and the residents can enjoy them especially during good weather. The activities are good and they try and involve residents' families. The fun days are good and raise money for charities and are very stimulating for the residents. Thornton le Dale is a lovely area and the staff often take residents out to enjoy the area. Facilities are good at The Hall, good outdoor area, nice lounges and a nice orangery. The bedrooms are so comfortable and cosy. Communication with the staff is good, if my Mum needs anything they will speak to me. Thank you The Hall.
The Hall is a fantastic home. The staff are extremely friendly and committed to caring for all their residents. Mum loves the varied and fun activities and always has a big smile on her face. The staff work very hard to keep everyone entertained and engaged. Social media posts help to keep me very well informed of what's going on. I love the photos. The food and standard of cleaning is exceptional. I can't recommend it more highly.
I'm writing again to give another review on the fantastic care my grandmother has been receiving whilst at the hall care home situated in the picturesque Thornton le-dale. Today I would like to personally thank two staff members in particular who provide exceptional care ranging from very pleasant trips out for my nan and are very kind and supportive. Thank you to everyone who takes care of Nanna. You all deserve so much praise. Thanks.
The level of care given to my mum in her final few weeks was exemplary. They treated her with dignity and like a human being, which in her hospital stay before was not the case. Lovely quiet location, with plenty of outside light. The lounge attached to her room was great for younger family members to be while visiting.
All members of The Hall Residential Care Home team provide care of the highest standard at all times. It certainly was our lucky day when Dad ended up there after a fall. His final months were spent with people who showed him love, compassion and respect. He seemed to relish life once more with the constant companionship and he truly blossomed. He was encouraged to take part in numerous activities, which he not only loved but also had a real positive effect on his dementia.
Everyone very helpful and caring, dad really made to feel at home, he's always encouraged to join in and does if not asleep as that's what he does best. He especially enjoys the school children coming he connects with one in general.
Payments! Despite paying every invoice, we do not seem to get it right and the statements are difficult to understand.
Mum was in The Hall for the last year of her life. The care she received was second to none, and all the staff and carers were extremely caring and professional, making sure that Mum was comfortable at all times. As a family, we are all grateful for the love and care Mum received in the last months of her life. Thank you to all at The Hall.
My mother-in-law was transferred to The Hall following a 4-month stay in hospital, following surgery on a fractured leg bone. When the hospital wanted to discharge her, she still required specialised care and was not ready to return home. She was transferred to The Hall from the hospital and the staff were absolutely great. They encouraged her to become more mobile and got her dressed every day. They helped her to return to a more normal everyday routine that enabled her to return home, which was her greatest wish. Although she still needs more additional professional care and assistance than her immediate family are able to provide, I have no doubt that without the help of the staff at The Hall, she would not have been able to return home.
We were so fortunate to find this amazing Care Home. The staff were wonderful and cared for my mother-in-law with care, dedication and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble, we live a distance away and they were in constant communication, updating us on everything. At one point, she was admitted to hospital having suffered a stroke and the hospital advised us that she survived thanks to the prompt action of the staff at the Hall. Sadly, she passed away recently and to the end was treated with care and dignity.
Highly recommend. Lovely home, staff welcoming and they even stayed covid free that really says it all. I haven’t stopped talking about this home - my experience of it has been nothing but second to none.
A close relative was a recent resident of The Hall, the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly doing everything they could to make her stay as nice and easy as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend The Hall.
Mum moved into The Hall in February 2021, with dementia and end-stage kidney disease. I cannot sufficiently express my gratitude to the management and staff for the care and love they gave to her under difficult conditions (Covid) and when she was quite new to them - they showed her so much patience, understanding and real care during what turned out to be her last few months and weeks of life. In addition, they were extremely kind and caring for my sister and me. To be honest, the choice of the care home was a bit of luck on our part - it is so difficult to make a choice during Covid especially, but also, because so much online information is out of date (particularly fees!) and tedious to read through. However, we were very, very fortunate with our choice, and feel we could not have chosen any better. The Hall itself is lovely, it feels more like a lovely old house than a care home, and is so clean and well looked after - not clinical and characterless.
Dad has been at The Hall for over a year now. He settled in quickly with excellent support from the staff. The Hall is homely and relaxed. The interaction between staff and residents is genuine and the staff obviously care about them. There are plenty of very well run activities to motivate the residents. Hygiene is spot on and the food is excellent. Would recommend without a second thought.
Aside from being generally delighted and impressed with the levels of care, comfort and cleanliness at The Hall, this review specifically relates to my lockdown experience. I have not had any contact with Mum since February. As an asthmatic myself, I have been careful since lockdown and was very pleased that The Hall took immediate action to secure the safety of their residents. So whilst it was personally sad that I couldn't visit, I completely understood the reasoning behind it. The fact that there has not been a single case of COVID at The Hall demonstrates that the level of care has been exceptional and also shows the sacrifices that the staff must have made in keeping themselves safe and socially distanced in their private lives. My visit on 6 August was an absolute joy. Whilst feeling secure in following their stringent procedures, I was able to visit Mum (coincidently on her 87th birthday) and have the most lovely visit that was full of laughs and love. Thank you all.
My mother was a happy resident here for four years. It is a very friendly home and whilst visiting I got to know many of the other residents. When Mum passed away I did not wish to leave The Hall and so became a Volunteer (being doing this for six years now). The care is still great and the facilities and activities just keep improving.
My mother has been a resident for over three years and has a lovely set of rooms overlooking the beautifully maintained gardens and the fields beyond. The staff are all so kind and caring, making every effort to accommodate all the different residents’ needs. Their friendly approach has always been a great comfort to the family but I have to commend them on their exemplary vigilance during the lockdown due to COVID-19. The Hall shut their doors to all visitors a week before the official lockdown but the manager has come up with some innovative ways of making sure that the families can keep in touch with their loved ones. This includes time slots that can be booked on a dedicated mobile, a video call or a face to face through the glass of the conservatory using the mobile to speak to the resident. The look on my mother’s face when we saw each other for the first time for over six weeks, albeit through that glass, was a joy to behold. I would certainly recommend The Hall to anyone.
