My husband was with you for only 6 weeks. However, within that period you gave him all the care he required when I was no longer able to do at home. I had a great sense he was at home and you all made a difficult time easier to bear.
Very impressed with all aspects of this residential home. Well run, very organised, friendly and compassionate and always welcoming. They made the transition from home to care home very easy. The home manager was so kind and helpful and every time I ring to talk to him or a member of the staff they are always so nice. Big thanks to one staff member in particular for keeping me right with all the payments and paperwork. Mum has a lovely room with a great view, she looked so well when we saw her, her hair was beautifully done. Great to see all the events on social media. Thank you very much.
Dad has been a resident here since Oct 2022 and he has been very content. The staff are always extremely relaxed and jovial, they constantly talk to residents cheering them up. The staff ensure residents are kept as active as they can be, encouraging as much activity as possible. Recently Dad has deteriorated and the staff have been totally professional in all they do. Everything is carried out with compassion and dignity always willing to go above and beyond to ensure Dad is safe, secure and comfortable. I am kept well informed about his condition when I am unable to visit him. The cost is average for the category of home but the care is above and beyond what I expected. I was told at the outset that all care would be carried out and all I had to do was visit and this has taken a lot of stress away. I would send my thanks to all the staff at the home for all their care, help and support over the past 14 months and I would highly recommend Hillcrest to friends and family if needed.
I would like to thank the team at Hillcrest for the quality of care they provided my father with. He was treated with genuine care and kindness throughout his time at Hillcrest. He was always treated with respect and dignity, even though he was not always easy to work with. From my experience, the team showed an excellent understanding of my father's needs and his condition. During the last couple of weeks, my father's health declined rather rapidly. I have to say the compassion shown to my father and us, the family, during this time was second to none. I was able to visit whenever I wished and to spend quality time with my father. On Tuesday 31st October, sadly, my father passed away. I cannot thank the team enough for the way they supported us through this very difficult time with respect, warmth and kindness. My father passed away very peacefully and I have peace in my heart knowing my father had received the very best of care throughout his time at Hillcrest.
This place is a godsend. The staff here truly care for the residents, taking the time to get to know their hobbies and passions and dealing with all aspects of care with kindness and dignity. This kindness extends to relatives of residents. The homely atmosphere is apparent as soon as you walk in the door. I am so grateful to all of the staff at Hillcrest Care Home for the kindness and support that they have provided for my mum during what would always be a difficult time. Mum settled very quickly and has had fun here in a safe and supportive environment with every need met.
Thank you to the manager and the team at Hillcrest. From our first meeting with you, I have been able to relax in the knowledge Mum is safe and clean and cared for 24/7 and has the opportunity for being engaged and entertained. I absolutely know that it is not an easy task and I have been so impressed with Hillcrest team members' kindness and resilience and genuine interest in attending to Mum's physical and emotional and social needs. Our first arrival and visit to Hillcrest was in a crisis and we, and especially Mum, were immediately welcomed and made to feel safe and reassured. Every time since then I have visited mum I have felt that same happy, positive, gentle, fun, kind and caring atmosphere and energy. The music events have been a particular hit for Mum. Thank you all so much.
My mother spent just over a year in Hillcrest and was always clean, fed well and well looked after. It was only when our family spent five days with her at the end of her life that I appreciated how caring and hardworking all the staff are. We couldn't fault her end of life care nor the care we were shown through a very difficult time. Thank you so much to you all.
My Dad came to be at Hillcrest on an emergency placement and never left. The manager and his staff team are always on hand to help relatives and put your mind at rest with any issues/concerns. Residents are well looked after, and nothing is too much. My Dad loved to read a paper, so they made sure he had one every day to read. They encourage residents to be in touch with their loved ones and have mobile phones, ipads to accommodate calls, and video calls! My Dad loved his grub and was always well fed. Sadly he passed away recently but again the manager and Team were there right to the end. Highly recommend.
My mum was only in this care home for a short time unfortunately due to illness and her passing. She settled very quickly with the help of the staff who were very caring and most helpful at all times. It was a difficult time for us all but with care home staff and managers kindness and excellent care throughout helped us greatly. Thank you
Great care, understanding for my aunt. Thank you so much for helping her during her staff.
My husband has been a resident at this Care Home for the past 10 months unfortunately he has dementia, but the care he receives is excellent both physically and mentally. I find all staff friendly and helpful when I visit or phone, the home is bright and cheerful plus clean and fresh. A good manager with a good team makes this a very good and caring Home.
The staff gave wonderful palliative care to my husband in his final months with vascular dementia. He was treated with dignity and given freedom to be himself. As a family we recommend this home. On his passing their kindness extended to supporting me and attending his funeral.
My mother was looked after by Hillcrest until recently being moved to another home due to medical reasons. She was treated very well by all of the staff and management. They were very patient with her ever with her complex behaviour. I would like to thank everybody at Hillcrest for caring for my mother.
We are so grateful to the lovely team at Hillcrest for the incredible care that they gave my grandmother in law during her time there. It was obvious that the team genuinely cared about her and took excellent care of her. Leaving a loved one in residential care is always extremely hard, but knowing how well she was being looked after made it so much easier. We are especially grateful for the kindness and compassion that they showed her and our family in her final days and to for the comfort that they provided in her final hours. Thank you so much, Hillcrest team.
It broke my heart in 2019 when I had to put my dad into a care home when I had promised him I would not, but when It became apparent that for his own safety he needed to have 24-hour care, I just thanked God I found Hillcrest. The staff and the manager have been amazing and have been so loving to dad it has really become his home and he has been so happy there, during lockdown they became his family as well. He has now reached end of life and the staff have been so loving and compassionate to both dad and my family that it has amazed me just how loved dad is in the home. I would like to thank the manager and the staff for making this really hard time so much easier for me as I know when I leave his bedside he still has all the love until I can sit with him again. Xx
My granddad has really changed since he has been living at Hillcrest, for the better. His mobility and speech is so much better than when he was living at home. My granddad has got friends and the staff cheer him up when he feels down. They are going to give him a job when the weather gets better. I am happy now.
Mum was very happy with her stay at Hillcrest. She said the food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful and was made to feel welcome. I was pleased with the care Mum had and found the staff very helpful.
My Grandma moved into Hillcrest beginning of December and I feel it was the best decision we made as a family. She was one of the residents who had a positive test but me and my mum at no point were worried as we knew the staff there were looking after her and she was in good hands.
Hillcrest continues to give excellent care and support to my brother, as his dementia becomes more challenging. The staff work hard to keep him occupied and motivated, despite the covid restrictions, with continual good humour and encouragement, which is a great comfort to the family, knowing that he is well cared for and happy. Thank you, Hillcrest.
The staff at Hillcrest provided excellent care to our mother for the last year of her life. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always cheerful and caring. They were dedicated to keeping all the residents safe during difficult Covid restrictions.
