My mother-in-law has been a resident for just over a year and I have to say that the care and services provided by The Millings continues to be of the highest standard. All the staff I have met have been caring, helpful and attentive and always make me feel welcome, as have the friendly residents! There is always someone around and plenty of activities going on. It's also great to be able to keep up to date with all the fun the residents are having via the frequent updates on a messaging app (for family and friends). My mother-in-law loves the social aspect, superb ambience and surroundings. Full marks from me!

My mother is approaching her 102nd birthday and has been a resident of The Millings since June 2022. She is very comfortable and extremely well looked after, and has formed excellent relationships with the dedicated staff who show her great kindness. The family are delighted we chose The Millings and remain totally reassured she is happy, safe, and receives the best possible care all round.

It is always a pleasure to visit Mum in The Millings where she is so well cared and catered for. The staff are key to her being so comfortable and so content. Each and every member of staff are friendly, helpful and caring, and keeps The Millings spotless.

My dad couldn't manage on his own at home after my mum passed away and The Millings was recommended to us. He has been a resident there now for almost two years. The whole team have been lovely with him and always treat him with great respect, good humour and gentle care. It is never an ideal situation when a parent has to go into a residential care facility - but I honestly think The Millings is the very best we could do for him. Myself or one of my sisters visit dad every day. We are always made to feel welcome by the Millings team - and they are all always very approachable and happy to address any concerns that we may have about how dad is doing or how his needs have changed. I am very happy to recommend The Millings.

From the moment I went to see The Millings as a possible care home for my dad, I was blown away by the coziness, the attention to detail to make it feel homely, and the friendly, helpful staff. My dad has been a resident at The Millings for about 16 months now and tells us "he's glad he picked The Millings, that he had seen it in a brochure and it was the place for him." Perhaps it was guided by the family, but he always says he's happy even to this day. Hearing him say that takes the pressure off the family, knowing he is in very friendly and professional hands. I highly recommend The Millings who always strive for the best care, always friendly and smiley. I say 10/10 for everything they do.

Mum has been in the Millings for nearly 12 months, her care has been excellent. The regular activity programme is varied and stimulating. Mum has really benefited from the encouragement and support given by all staff, her confidence has grown and therefore her desire to participate in social activities has greatly improved. When necessary, emergency response has been excellent and Mum feels very secure in her surroundings. Staff are always busy and occupied with the residents but make time to listen and offer help when needed. Their sense of humour, patience and understanding has been greatly appreciated. The overall atmosphere is very positive and caring, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Millings.

The Millings is a very warm, welcoming, and happy place. I knew it would suit my father as soon as we entered and he has been very content. The staff are so approachable and helpful. They seem to make genuine, meaningful relationships with the residents. They provide appropriate activities and have encouraged my father to join in, which although initially reluctant is now enjoying. He has really benefitted from the routine and good care he has received and thrived from the company and stimulation.

My mum stayed in The Millings after a spell in hospital at the start of 2023. We found the staff there to be kind, caring and understanding. They made her stay there a pleasure and made the transition back to her own home very easy. There was always someone present to answer any questions I had or put something in place to help Mum. I would have no worries about recommending The Millings to anyone. I know Mum really enjoyed the varied food menu and the activities provided were amazing.

My grandma has been living here since December and she absolutely loves it! It’s such a lovely and friendly place with beautiful surroundings. The staff are all very friendly and attentive, the rooms are beautifully decorated and always clean and tidy and the residents seem really happy. There’s always something going on, lots of activities as well as the freedom to have your own space. As my grandma says, “you really can’t fault it!”.

The Millings have offered my mother a safe and caring environment over the past 5 months. This was whilst Mum transitioned into a new apartment after wanting to leave her own home after 28 years. She became very settled, happy and engaged from the very commencement of her stay. This enabled my sister and I to concentrate on her next move knowing there were attentive and caring people looking after her. The range of activities was just what Mum needed to ensure she remained active and made friends that will remain in her life into the future. Mum loves Bedale and the area was familiar to her helping to ease the move. The staff are friendly, loving and professional. The Millings is a happy place, in beautiful surroundings, Mum looks forward to visiting her new friends and the warm welcome she will receive after she leaves.

The Millings have offered my mother a safe and caring environment over the past nine months. She is settled, happy and engaged. In her own understated words, 'I have nothing to complain about'. The range of activities are brilliant, including the use of local community amenities. The staff are friendly, loving and professional. The Millings is a happy place, in beautiful surroundings.

This is the first time I have had to help a relative to leave their home and move into a care home. The arrangements with The Millings were clear and straight forward and now my sister is really happy in her new home.

Extremely clean, well-presented facility with approachable, friendly staff. Generally, activities are provided on a daily basis to keep residents busy. Beautiful gardens and surroundings and just off the high street. The home is in a beautiful setting.

My dad has been a resident at The Millings since October 2022. The staff have been so caring with him as he was a little unsettled in the first few weeks. They have provided reassurance for my dad and also to us and Dad is now looking and feeling happier and settling in well. There is always plenty going on, with a great activities calendar every week, so lots to do for residents. The team are amazing and we are thankful to have Dad in such a great place.

The Millings is perfect. It has the feel of a country hotel, the staff are fantastic and my mum has settled in well, especially with a few home comforts around her in her room. I know she is safe, well cared for and happy, which is all I could hope for.

From the start of our enquiry (July) and up to the present day (where my mother has been a resident for 2 months), I have to honestly state that our expectations have been fully met. The home is well furnished, maintained and is very functional. It is in an excellent location in Bedale which really helps when one can take Mum out and have a change when we visit - whether that be in the nearby park or enjoying a cream bun from the local bakers! The staff are excellent - always willing to help, engage and be available (sometimes at short notice) to discuss my mother's welfare or address my questions. Everything is transparent and having had Mum stay in a previous residential home, I am absolutely confident that the Millings gives Mum a comfortable, safe, friendly and enjoyable environment. All credit to the manager and the staff team.

My mum was very fortunate to have the opportunity to start her temporary care at The Millings, following a move from hospital. She is very happy and has decided to make a permanent move here. The friendliness of all the staff has helped her decision. A huge thank you to everyone.

My father has been a resident at The Millings for 10 months now and since his arrival he has received wonderful care. The home is kept extremely clean, tidy and decorated to a high standard. All staff treat him with respect ensuring all his needs are met. I am always made welcome when I visit and updated on Dad's health. When there has been any correspondence received by Dad that required my action, the staff have contacted me promptly so things can be sorted quickly. I am kept well informed of all activities that going on at the home on a weekly basis that vary from watercolour painting and singalongs to carpet bowls and board games. Dad is very happy and is extremely well looked after.

Our experience from initially enquiring and viewing the Millings right through to the day my 93-year-old mother was received and cared for at the Millings was second to none. The manager and all her team made sure that my mother was welcomed with open arms. It is a great comfort to know that she is now being cared for in a loving, respectful and compassionate environment. The manager and her team could not do enough and went beyond the extra mile to ensure that my mother is comfortable, safe, and cared for. She has everything to assist her in making her feel at home.

My stepfather has settled very well into the Millings now and has been cared for extremely well by all staff he comes into contact with. Although he has several health challenges, he has definitely improved physically now that his medication and dietary needs are looked after. His room and all areas are cleaned and kept pristine at all times, as are the gardens which he enjoys, when possible. Well done everyone at The Millings, you do a fabulous job.
