View Full Details of Normanby HouseMy mum recently moved into Normanby House on the 1st of October. We were made to feel very welcome in the relaxed environment. It is very accommodating with flexible visiting. My mum's room is clean and comfortable, the staff do an amazing job and I'm confident that my mum will get the care she requires.
It was difficult to say the least to have to realise that my Mum needed more care than I could give, but I was so glad that Normanby House, which my research had shown me was the best choice, was able to find a place when we really needed it. I'm in a good position to do a review now as I'm there every day, and have got to know the excellent and lovely staff as they've got to know Mum, and I can see that they're taking great care to do the best for her. The manager and her deputy are diamonds, anything is actioned without fuss. I'm never made to feel I'm in the way, quite the opposite, no matter how busy all the staff are. Always welcoming. Very clean everywhere, and all up to spec., a lot of attention is paid to make a good and safe environment. The food is excellent, a great chef and kitchen team. I've always been impressed with the way St. Cecilia's group go out of their way to attract the best staff and run their homes, so I'm glad I was right!
Wanted to say thank you to all the staff at Normanby House for all they do for my mum. She is so happy there and loves the trips out they have. I would highly recommend this home to everyone. Thank you.
I looked at many care homes in Scarborough before choosing Normanby House as the most suitable for Mum. She is well cared for by all members of staff, who treat Mum as an individual and treat her with kindness and respect. The staff have taken the time to learn about Mum and what they can do to make her feel more settled and relaxed. I visit the home most days and am always impressed by the staff, who are friendly, well motivated and seem happy in their work. The staff are patient and gentle with residents, speaking with respect and taking time to find out what they can do to help. From housekeeping, catering, care workers, activity and management team, they make me feel welcome when I visit and if I mention something, however small, I am confident that it is actioned without delay. It was very emotional reaching the decision to place Mum in a care home, but I felt well supported and guided throughout the process.
Used Normanby House for three weeks respite for Mum who is 83 with Alzheimer's. Staff were friendly, helpful, happy and looked after Mum well. The Manager was very informative and assisted me with any questions I had and ensured Mum settled in. Would definitely use Normanby House again.
I am so impressed with the care my Mum receives, from my first contact with the home till now they have been wonderful. My Mum is so well cared for in a lovely environment, she takes trips out which she enjoys and there are lots of activities happening for her to be a part of. She always looks lovely with her hair done and often has her nails painted. She has only gone there recently but has settled in really well, she is always treated with dignity and respect by the staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home for your loved one.
