View Full Details of Riverside CourtMum continues to have wonderful care and support at Riverside Court. By living here we are both able to have a better quality of life. Mum is safe, well cared for and loved, which means I can feel more relaxed knowing she is so well cared for. Mum recently celebrated her 90th birthday and it was so heartwarming to see the fuss the staff made of her. I cannot thank Riverside enough for all they do for mum and I, it is very much appreciated.
Many thanks for continuing to give my Father the best of care. Having lived with you for over three years, his care needs have increased greatly, and you have risen to the challenge with great care, respect and good humour. It's reassuring to see the same staff who have cared for Dad during all this time and who have got to know him well.
My mother is into her third year at Riverside Court. She continues to thrive on the friendly and considerate support that she receives. Undoubtedly, the consistent kindness, care and social interaction shown by all the staff are major factors in achieving this outcome.
I always visit my dad on a Sunday to do the crossword with him. The staff know my routine and make sure the supplement and paper are already in his room. All the staff are very attentive to my dad's needs, which are few relatively. He is always dressed and ready for the day, well fed and medication up-to-date. If he or I have any worries or questions, the staff are always pleased to help, or an email to The manager is usually answered within the hour. I cannot understand why the CQC have not rated Riverside as good if not outstanding. In my opinion Riverside is a warm, friendly, well managed establishment and should be reclassified.
My Mother has been at Riverside for over 6 years. She is very well looked after, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They are so friendly, caring and attentive. She is very happy and content.
Riverside Court embodies the 'caring' part of a care home - which is so important for the well-being of the resident and reassurance of their family. My mum came in at very short notice for respite/convalescence from an emergency stay in hospital. We felt welcome immediately and were hugely relieved to find somewhere where she could recover properly. Despite her considerable resilience, she needed both physical and health care and some restoration of her spirits. The warm, kind, friendly ethos of the home, shown by every member of staff, got her back on her feet and back to an independent full life again - in just a few weeks. We're hugely grateful.
Absolutely brilliant care home... run by absolutely brilliant people... cannot thank you enough for looking after my dad... it was so reassuring to know he was cared for 24/7 by lovely, friendly staff... thank you so much for everything.
Very friendly staff and well-managed care home. Mum is well cared for and is as happy as it is possible for her to be now she is so frail and has lost her eyesight. It is good to know she is being well cared for and comfortable when we could not manage to look after her ourselves.
Excellent service from all the caring staff. The staff understand that they have to be patient and understanding when dealing with potentially difficult situations. They are also flexible in providing quality meals for patients who have unusual requests.
My wife was a resident at Riverside Court for 16 months. During this time she never settled or felt like it was her home. I was very disappointed with the overall quality of care and support she received during this time. Placing your loved one in the care of others is a very big leap of faith, as you never truly know what the care home and staff are like until it's too late. Based on my experience I can not recommend this care home. My wife has since moved into an excellent care home that truly put their residents first, the difference is amazing, and my wife is finally happy and settled in her new home.
Mum is well looked after and cared for. The staff are supportive of her needs and also empathise with myself during this difficult stage of life. I’m pleased that the home is not a huge residential one, as it retains a family type home.
We are generally very pleased with the care given to both our parents in the home. Staff are mostly excellent and considerate and we appreciate they work incredibly hard to make our parent's lives as comfortable as possible in sometimes challenging situations. Staff are very cheerful and patient.
Dad moved to Riverside Court at the start of 2024. His health was failing and sadly it was not to be a long stay. He passed away suddenly in February. He was fiercely independent and had always been resistant to the idea of a care home. But Riverside was a wonderful conclusion to a happy life. In the circumstances, he could not have been happier and the warmth and care he received was notable. We will always be grateful.
Excellent care offered and understanding of the resident's complicated and demanding needs. All staff and management are cheerful and caring despite putting up with difficult and at times, demanding residents.
Mum has been at Riverside for nearly a year now. Mum spent 16 weeks without a working toilet or running water in her room. They did supply a commode which was not emptied nearly enough and used to smell in her room. The task of emptying often falling to family members. Her personal care washing changing clothes brushing her teeth just do not happen and mum can be left dirty for hours and days. The lunchtime meal is okay but is lacking in variety. Teatime meal is nearly always the same sandwiches night after night with a cheap dessert to follow. The home does not have any facilities for visiting friends and family, especially in winter months when you are not able to use the garden. Activates are very poor, they do have a mini bus but this has only been out on one occasion all year. The manager made it sound very good, unfortunately, we feel like we have been miss-sold. Most things we were told at our initial meeting were just that, talk.
My mother spent the last year of her life at Riverside Court. It was wonderful, caring, kind, friendly and well-maintained. My mother really enjoyed the good and wholesome food. Prior to going into the home, she had become increasingly anxious due to dementia, the care home seemed to be able to make her feel safe, and the anxiety significantly reduced. The staff were very attentive and kept me very well informed. I would thoroughly recommend this homely care home.
Our father has now been a resident at Riverside Court for 5 years, and they have continually, over that time, provided kind and caring support to Dad. We are kept fully informed of any changes, and they have been particularly fantastic recently as Dad has had a mini-stroke and a fall - both of which they dealt with quickly, efficiently and effectively. Dad is happy and relaxed, and all the staff are friendly, helpful and have Dad's best interests at heart. We're always welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee when we visit, and it's always a pleasure to be there. The home is clean, tidy and well run, and the atmosphere is calm, happy and inviting. Very highly recommended.
I recently moved my 92-year-old relative into Riverside Court Care Home. From the onset I found the team to be friendly and accommodating, nothing being too much trouble in enabling her to settle safely into her new environment. The residents there always look happy and content in the peaceful atmosphere. It is a small family-run business and this is reflected in the caring homely ethos of the home. I have no hesitation in recommending Riverside Court.
Mum recently moved to Riverside Court after a stroke. She was welcomed like an old friend and without exception the staff are absolutely brilliant. They are so kind and caring but also great fun as care homes should be. As it is with every family, it is a very hard decision to move a loved one away from their own home but Riverside Court really is the next best option. I did look at a care home which was part of a large organisation but the family environment at Riverside Court put it head and shoulder above everywhere else. It is beautifully kept, absolutely spotless and the garden is lovely with outside seating and a summerhouse for when the weather is suitable. Visiting, within their guidelines, is never a problem with a call beforehand to book a visit. Moving mum from her own home has been made much easier thanks to the kindness of everyone at Riverside Court.
This care home goes above and beyond expectation day in day out. A family-run home that is run with love, compassion and most importantly dignity. The owners are wonderful and are involved in the day to day running of the home which is just lovely to see- especially nowadays. My nan had a lovely room overlooking the river and enjoyed many day trips with the other residents. She was quite a private and independent lady so I was initially unsure how she would manage in a care setting, but Riverside Court really just felt like home to her and isn’t that all we really want. Thank you all very much for all you have done and continue to do.
