View Full Details of CraghallFather-in-law has been in Craghall for about 3 months. He has settled well and is happy. Staff are fantastic. He is always clean, well dressed. The home is very clean in all areas, rooms, communal areas. Staff are professional in their tasks but are approachable and happy to spend time talking to family. I now do not worry about my father-in-law's safety and well-being.
Mum has been a resident since September and not for one second have I had any doubts about her placement! Where do I begin! Any establishment/institution is only as good as it's staff and my goodness they are excellent, caring, thoughtful, hard working and very proactive. My mum has never looked as well dressed, clean and physically healthy! Carers style her hair, and choose her clothes with care and thought. Activities are varied and include crafts, keep fit and singing. The lead up to Christmas included visits from local schools, beavers and nursery plus adult singers. Every residents door was decorated with a unique homemade decoration (beautiful!). Families are also supported as staff offer support and advice. I could go on!
Our family undoubtedly made the right decision choosing Craghall for our 98-year-old Mother, from day one she has been welcomed and cared for by the most amazing team who never cease to amaze us with their compassion. The location is beautiful and the lovely period home is a home from home. The level of cleanliness is first class as is the food and care, literally, nothing is too much trouble they do go that extra mile for residents and families.
My 98-year-old mother has moved into Craghall after breaking her hip. She has a beautiful en suite room at the back of the building overlooking trees and green space. As a family, we were very nervous about this move but we have been blown away by the fantastic levels of care and dedication of the staff team at Craghall. Mum loves her new home and enjoys all of the food and the person-centred approach to her care. There is a comprehensive programme of activities and we are free to come and go on our visits. Nothing is a problem for the staff and we are always given the warmest of welcomes and encouraged to chat about all aspects of Mum's care. As a family we would have no hesitation in recommending Craghall - it's a beautiful home with a fabulous team, delivering first-rate care.
Very pleased with the care my Mother receives. Mum loves the food.
I find everything fine here. My friend is well looked after. Being a lady who was very thin when she arrived here. She's actually put weight on. All of the girls are very friendly and helpful. A great thing is they actually know and remember your name. Very unusual in this day and age.
My mam has been a resident since December 2024. After being very nervous about mam going into care I knew instantly this was the perfect one for her. The support we’ve received from all the management and staff has been outstanding. I knew after my first visit she would be well cared for by all the amazing staff who work very hard. They have regular activities and outings which the residents love. I know my mam is safe now after many months of worrying. I highly recommend Craghall to anyone who wants the best care for their loved ones. Thanks to all the staff, you all do a fantastic job.
Our mother had almost 4 years at Craghall. She was very happy and regarded it as her home. Could not fault the staff as they treated her as if she was one of their own family.
My mum has been a resident of Craghall for five years. The care and support she has received from all the staff has been exemplary. She is very happy and enjoys taking part in the many varied activities when she is able. As a visitor, I am always made to feel welcome and find the atmosphere friendly, relaxed and homely.
I am very satisfied with the care and attention my husband receives at Craghall. The staff are very understanding and concerned about my husband and he seems very contented living at Craghall.
My great auntie has settled well thanks to the care of the staff. Despite initially being nervous and spending a lot of time in her room, their gentle coaxing and encouragement now has her front row for most of the enriching activities that take place. From sing-a-longs, to trips, to movie days and crafts there is always something going on to keep my great auntie busy. It’s a huge weight off the family’s mind to know that she is well cared for and all her needs are met.
Almost one year ago I had to choose a suitable care home for my mother who suffers from advanced Alzheimer's disease. After many visits to others, I arrived at Craghill and was immediately struck by how caring and professional the staff I spoke to were. I no longer worry about the care my mother receives here compared to her previous location. She is looking a picture of health now. In fact, we joke she has a better social life than us due to regular trips to and activities.
My mother was a resident of Craghall Care Home for just over two years. She sadly died on 29/11/2023. The care and love she received, and indeed our family, was exemplary. The care team are a dedicated, cohesive and hard-working group of people. The support we all received made us feel part of the Craghall family, and we are very grateful.
Choosing the right care home for a loved one can be a very emotional and daunting experience yet from our very first meeting with the manager, we knew we’d chosen the perfect place for our beloved mum. The environment and the quality of care provided at Craghall are, we believe, second to none and during the final four weeks of her life there the entire team proved to be utterly outstanding. End-of-life care is truly a vocation and every single member of staff from domestic and catering, through entertainment, daily care and management afforded both my mum and us, her family, the utmost respect, kindness, compassion and love. We truly cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make her last days the most comfortable they could have been and for taking us all under their wing during this time. Nothing, however small, was too much trouble for them and we will never forget this or them. They are an absolutely outstanding group of women.
My mum was a resident at Craghall Care Home for almost two and a half years and throughout this time she received exceptional care and support. She sadly became quite poorly in November and we as a family opted for her to remain at Craghall until she passed away as she had created such a strong bond with the wonderful team of carers and staff. My mum suffered from Dementia so remaining in familiar surroundings with loving and caring people was very important to her and provided immense support to myself and family during this difficult time. I can honestly say I have never felt so truly grateful to a group of individuals from domestic staff to kitchen assistants, carers and the whole management team. Every person showed the utmost care and respect to not only my mum but to our entire family. I will remain truly grateful to Crahall for making my mum's final years and days as special as they possibly could be and recommend them to anyone looking for a care home specialising in dementia.
Craghall staff are always very caring and have the interests of the residents at their heart. Everyone is very friendly and very accommodating to visiting relatives. The setting of Craghall is lovely and in the summer we enjoy going into the grounds. I would recommend Craghall to anyone.
My mum has been in the care home for five months. She has dementia and has settled in reasonably well. She is treated with dignity and respect and is given good care from all staff. Mum engages with the activities and is encouraged to do so. The staff have a good understanding of my mum's likes and dislikes and tailor activities accordingly. She is always happy when staff engage with her. She gets frustrated and upset at things and wants to be home, but this is more to do with her diagnosis rather than care she is receiving.
It was decided by family, that after over three years of looking after my wife, my health needed a break! The staff are super, always cheerful and there to lend a hand. The senior team were very helpful and informative and kept the family up-to-date and informed at all times. My wife spoke very highly of those caring for her.
Craghall is a lovely care home with lovely grounds for clients and visitors to enjoy. There is always something being organised for residents-day trips out, special lunches, entertainment and crafting sessions. The staff are always happy to update on individuals' welfare and advise on any needs they may have.
We are very grateful to all the staff at Craghall for looking after Mum. When it became clear Mum could no longer look after herself, it was a traumatic time for our family but we were so reassured by the care, love and attention of all at Craghall. We would have no hesitation in recommending Craghall to families seeking a place to live for their loved ones.
