View Full Details of Collingwood CourtMy dad has been a resident since October 2024. We could no longer manage to keep him safe in his own home. While it was a difficult time having to leave his house, all the staff at Collingwood Court made it as easy as possible for us all with their friendliness, care and professionalism. The staff are fantastic and the activities for the residents are amazing. My dad has an activity everyday if he wants to be involved. He has thrived making some new friends with other residents and staff. The staff go the extra mile. Two staff members in particular are fantastic they put everything into making residents happy and stimulated with a wide range of activities. Another staff member is very helpful in the office and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are amazing they way they look after the residents including 4 in particular. My dad has all his needs taken care of, our family are made welcome to visit, the home is immaculate, dad gets lovely meals and he is smiling again. Thank you Collingwood Team.
Welcoming, kind, caring and more like a family. Dad is constantly smiling and singing. Impressed with all the staff especially 4 staff members in particular, nothing is too much trouble. Dad had mentioned the food is fantastic, very nice plenty of snacks. Staff are not here for dad, they are a nice support network for the family.
Always had negative opinions about care homes until my dad arrived in Collingwood Court. There is a lovely atmosphere with kind patient staff. The building is spotless and the carers cannot do enough for all the residents. My dad loves it here and it feels like a second family to him. The relief I feel knowing my dad is loved and well looked after is immeasurable and I can now relax and not have any stress knowing that my dad is happy and well cared for and settled.
My mother arrived for a period of respite after falling numerous times when living independently and being in and out of hospital. After 8 weeks respite, she has decided to stay permanently. She has had no falls since arriving in Collingwood Court, is happier, safer and no longer isolated. Staff have been welcoming and supportive. My mind is at ease and everyone is happier. Thank you Collingwood!
Mum has been in for just over 2 weeks. She has had 2 falls but has been looked after. This place is excellent except I would say they could do with a few more carers around, especially at meal times as there always have to be 2 carers in the dining room for meals but that leaves a shortage for those who may need help in their rooms or need the toilet, etc. Apart from that, all the staff are lovely.
This care home is beautiful and the staff have been amazing. Transferred my Mother-in-law here from another care home and the difference is unbelievable. Special thanks to the activities coordinator who was fantastic with helping get my Mother-in-law settled and putting our minds at rest so that she would be well cared for. Also thanks to the senior Carer who was also amazing. Many thanks.
Collingwood Court looked after my grandma for 2 years and all the staff were fabulous and friendly they were so helpful to her and us when we had any queries nothing was ever a bother. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Thank you so much to all the staff that gave my grandma the care and comfort she needed.
Mum was reluctant to move into a care home but she was 93 and had Dementia. We looked at many care homes in the North Tyneside area and found a couple of homes we thought suitable. We took Mum to Collingwood Court and were met by the very friendly activity coordinator. She showed us around the unit looking at the room they had available as well as the day room with the other residents and then the dining room. The atmosphere of the whole place was welcoming and friendly. This never changed throughout her stay. Mum said she could live there. We moved her in within the week and during the settling-in period, she was treated with care and compassion. Sadly Mum only had 6 weeks in the care home before she passed away. But during this time she enjoyed the company of the other residents and the care provided by the staff.
The staff were amazing looking after my mam as well as myself and my sisters and other family members visiting. They bought us food and drink and were so kind and thoughtful during a difficult time. We will always appreciate how fantastic the staff were!
My mum moved into Collingwood Court in December 2023 after a short illness. Prior to this, she had lived alone and been pretty independent with no help in the house. During her time in hospital, we realised there was no way she could go back home. We are so glad we found Collingwood Court, from our first visit we as a family were made welcome. The day Mum moved in she was a bit nervous but knew it was the right decision for her. Six weeks in she is part of the fixtures, happily takes part in the busy activity schedule and has made friends both with residents and staff. We have seen such a positive change in her, her mobility will never be what it was and she knows her limitations but she is really happy. The whole team appear engaged and invested in what they do regardless of role, good, strong, management shines through. I can't thank everyone enough for being there for Mum and giving us as a family peace of mind.
My husband was in for respite care as I had a knee replacement. The care he was given was excellent. The management and staff are brilliant. I can not praise them enough.
As a family, Collingwood was a good choice we made to care for our mother with dementia. None of us were expecting that 2 years later we would be even happier with that choice. The place has just gone from nice, to good, to excellent. The management are absolutely passionate about providing care and happiness.
My husband has been in this care home since Febraury 2021 and has had the best of care. The manager and staff are extremely caring. My husband has Alzheimer's and very demanding. The staff go far beyond their call of duty, they are so caring and cheerful and the ambience in the home is friendly and happy. Cannot fault anything at all. Staff, manager, food - all excellent.
A change in management and an increase in permanent staff (as opposed to agency) has led to a marked improvement towards the running of Collingwood Court. The staff appear happy with the current environment and positive changes that have been made both internally and in resident welfare. There are more activities and interactions with staff and residents. A new chef has brought a change in menu and a selection. My mother is well cared for, warm, fed and happy.
Dad came to Collingwood Court on respite care via a hospital Social Worker. We were very worried about him as we had cared for him at home. The manager was wonderful, putting out mids at rest and assured us her door was always open, and it was, with a welcoming smile. Whatever our concerns were, big or small, she had plenty of time for us, and we never felt unwelcome or a nuisance. Normal practice is to have a care plan meeting when a resident becomes permanent, but due to our concern, the manager gave us an early meeting and explained everything clearly. I must also say all the staff show unlimited care and compassion for the residents and us as family members. Whilst Dad has been here, we have been invited to dine with him, and the food has been delicious. I have already told my friends how lovely it is here.
I was visiting a friend with my mum. We were in a joint community area. I witnessed excellent care given to several service users. The staff had a great sense of humour but was extremely caring whilst making sure the other service users and visitors were also being attended to. I also witnessed fabulous care delivered by all staff I saw. It is an extremely difficult job given in the best possible way by the staff with dignity and patience.
Lovely family feeling and very friendly.
Very happy here.
I love the staff I am very happy here.
Mum was a resident at Collingwood Court for some 4 years, the care home was excellent. From the time of looking to move mum right until her death, the staff went above and beyond and nothing was too much for them. They made us always feel welcome. It was clean, tidy and everyone was pleasant. The food was excellent, care of mum superb, how do you thank a caring team. They work their hardest during covid and got us all through. At the end the staff made us feel so special, the care was amazing for mum. Thank you so much
