The staff at Glenholme look after our mother wonderfully. Everyone knows her and what her needs are, they do everything they can to ensure Mam leads a happy and healthy life. Staff contact us regularly with updates on Mam's wellbeing and any changes to her medication and care needs. Glenholme is spotlessly clean and Mam is always in freshly laundered, coordinating clothes. Visiting Glenholme is a pleasure, the staff are cheerful and welcoming and there are activities for residents every morning and afternoon. The care and dedication of the Glenholme staff is clear, they treat every resident as an individual and we feel lucky that our mother is in their safe hands.
We had to place my dad into care only 2 weeks ago, and Glenholme was by far the best choice we could have made. Two weeks isn't a long time, but this review is absolutely well deserved, and probably would just become more glowing as time went on! All of the staff are so friendly - nothing is a bother to them and they're always happy to answer any questions or put our minds at ease, even when we think we're being pests! It is obvious just how much they care about all of their residents, you can tell nothing is forced or fake - they are genuine, lovely people. He's settled in so well and is clearly happy there. The activities are amazing - so varied and enjoyable, and we love seeing pictures of him on their social media page. The home itself is bright, spacious and clean, there's nothing that we can fault. Every time I go to visit I'm reminded of how fortunate we were to have been able to have Dad live there. Thank you all for taking such good care of my precious dad.
My mother has a good quality of life at Glenholme, and I am always impressed by the number of activities there are at the home. The staff are really friendly when I visit or see Mum weekly by video call. It is great that I can speak to her weekly and she obviously gets on well with the staff who help her video call. She has been there a long time and they talk like old friends. I live some distance away so the ability to talk by video call is really important to us.
Mum has started to have moments/days of extreme depression and confusion due to her dementia. The staff are always extremely kind and caring towards her and do their best to comfort her. They also keep us very well informed of any issues arising from Mum’s dementia.
Cannot thank Glenholme enough for the care and attention they show to Mam and also our family when visiting. Keep up the excellent work in what is a very challenging job.
Mam settled very well at Glenholme House and the staff have been brilliant with her. Everyone is always friendly and very caring about my mam. I would recommend Glenholme to anyone without any doubts. They do a fantastic job.
My dad is quite new to Glenholme House, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The home is very clean and lots of activities to take part in. The management are excellent and approachable. Lots on offer for meals but home-cooked food would be nice. Dad's care plans are up to date and reviewed regularly. I have witnessed incidents where first aid was needed and the staff were very calm and efficient. Definitely recommend to others.
My mother-in-law went in for several weeks after a hospital stay. I can honestly say that all the staff were amazing. All are friendly and caring. I was amazed at the activities they did every week. My mother-in-law came on leaps and bounds. Thankful to you all, a wonderful team.
The staff at this care home are just amazing, mam has just had a wonderful Christmas despite being very poorly, her presents from the staff were just hand-picked for her and exactly what she would have worn. Each and every member of staff from the manager to the domestic staff and admin are all so caring and person-centred. Not only is mam looked after they are looking after us too in such an extremely difficult time. Thank you so much Glenholme staff who we now class as family. God bless and never change the care and attention you give to every resident who is in your care.
Happy with home, Dad likes it. If got problems it gets sorted. Like the home, love to see them all out on day trips. Always doing things with them. Thank them for all they do. One thing about Dad's clothes going missing, socks, vest, it's a nightmare, sick off buying them.
All staff have been really welcoming, helpful and supportive. Dad previously attended Glenholme for daytime activity before COVID and loved his time with staff and residents. In March of this year, Dad become a resident at a particularly difficult time for our family. Within forty-eight hours we saw a difference in Dad's appearance, personal hygiene, demeanour and this was purely down to the care, attention, stimulation, nutrition, hydration, support and a sense of belonging and being safe. In six months, Dad is so very happy. He loves all the activities and staff and only this week told me 'I have a lovely life'. Glenholme is a brilliant example of what good care can achieve.
My mother-in-law is well cared for by the lovely staff at Glenholme. Many thanks for their hard work - they deserve a pay rise! The staff are kind, patient and empathetic to her needs, which are many.
Our Mam has been a resident at Glenholme for just over 2 years and as a family, we feel that she is settled and safe. The staff situation appears more stable with a calm friendly atmosphere. There are lots of opportunities for socialising. Mam's room is always clean and tidy. The only criticism I would have would be in ensuring Mam is always in clean clothing and has help each day in choosing nice outfits.
It is a very difficult time seeing the parent you love slowly slipping away both physically and mentally. So it is a great comfort to know she is somewhere, like Glenholme, with a safe and caring environment to support her needs. Whenever I have a question I find the staff very approachable and kind in their responses to set my mind at ease.
I am very pleased with the care that Mum receives at Glenholme. I do not live locally but I have peace of mind knowing she is settled and well looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend Glenholme to anyone looking for a nursing home for a relative.
My mum has been with Glenholme House Care Home for just coming up to a year. After being so independent, I was worried she would not settle but she is so happy and content living there. All of the staff are excellent, caring and professional, I can’t thank them enough for the care they provide. The home is always clean, well-run and secure for residents. The home provides a huge variety of day activities, tailored for everyone and creates a great social environment. Individual care is also evident and when my mum needs extra support it’s there for her. I now have peace of mind my mum is safe, happy and well looked after.
Highly recommend this care home. We moved Dad here after a bad experience at another care home and the difference was amazing. The staff are brilliant, from the carers to the cleaning girls to the chefs and the wonderful activities they provide. Dad sadly passed away, we requested that he spent his final hours here instead of in a cold clinical hospital and we were so grateful for the care and love we received as a family at this sad time. Thank you, Glenholme House.
My mum had a short stay at Glenholme House. Fabulous staff and home; she was so well cared for. I couldn’t recommend this care home enough. The daily entertainment schedule would rival any holiday camp, and my mum said the food and choice were beautiful. The amazing care my mum received got her back on her feet in no time. Immaculate, well-presented surroundings, with a lovely garden and a great location.
The team at Glenholme work extremely hard to provide a safe and caring environment for all their residents. As a family we have been welcomed and supported when visiting our Mum. There are many activities organised for the residents and relatives are well informed about everything that is going on. It has been an extremely difficult time having our mum in a care home, but we know she is safe and well cared for. The staff are very responsive to both Mum’s needs and any information we ask for.
