View Full Details of Springfield Care HomeMy wife is very well looked after. She is attended regularly. The staff are fantastic.
My husband moved here in January from another care home. The difference in him has been amazing - he is much happier, alert and enjoying all the activities on offer (something sadly lacking at his previous home). All staff from management to carers, domestic staff and cooks are friendly, approachable and professional. There is a great camaraderie between the staff. The food is excellent and plentiful. Activities are many and varied and well thought out and planned. The home is kept spotless. It has given me peace of mind knowing that he is so well cared for and I would wholeheartedly recommend the home.
Springfield Care Home is an immaculately clean and well-decorated home. All staff and management are extremely helpful, and friendly and are willing to go the extra mile to help both residents and family members. A lovely caring environment with an abundance of activities for loved ones to join with. So much planning thought and preparation are put into these activities and they are delivered with care and compassion is second to none. It is a joy to see via social media loved ones participating in activities! Overall a fantastic, pleasant, caring, friendly and happy home.
The care home has totally changed my opinion of the care system. The love, care and respect that my gran has received is second to none. The communication on anything relating to my gran is excellent.
I cannot praise the care home highly enough. Without the care, love and devotion to my mother, she would not be with us. Nothing is too much bother, regardless of the time of day or night, and the manager of the home and her deputy know the names of all her residents and family members, which is not always the case. One of my best decisions for my mam.
My grandma receives exceptional care from every member of staff. They treat her like family, and I am so grateful for all they do.
We find every aspect of Springfield House Care home outstanding. We have observed staff supporting and caring for residents in a genuine way who have no visitors present. All of the team are approachable, pleasant and hardworking. As it stands, we have ticked every box excellent and are pleased to have this opportunity to express this.
My sister has lived at Springfield Care Home for over 2 years now. The team there have provided an excellent, sincerely caring home for her. It is such a well-managed home with the highest of standards and a wonderful ethos, which permeates down from management to every member of staff. The food is very good, home-made fayre and offerings at tea breaks are varied and plentiful. The snack trays distributed around the home are such a lovely touch for the residents. The rooms, with en-suite are very well kept and regularly updated. We have been amazed at the number and variety of activities on offer. Another plus are the many themed days (and meals) on special occasions. All management and staff are very approachable, readily available, always supportive and very professional. We have absolute peace of mind, knowing my sister is having the very best of care from an amazing team.
Equipment to meet care needs wasn't available on arrival despite manager having carried out a care needs assessment. No raised toilet seat /frame and the chair in the room was too low/narrow. Senior staff were using an assessment which was out of date re continence, transfers and mobility. Concerns raised by family on arrival, by telephone later that day and the following day were met with an uncaring attitude and no effective action. Staff weren't walking the person and they were unable to use the toilet despite information provided by family leading to distress due to incontinence and regression of mobility. Referral to therapy re mobility and podiatry was delayed by 2 weeks despite manager stating they would refer shortly after admission. Prior to signing family queried a clause in the contract. Management terminated the residency with immediate effect despite receipt of £8000. Management repeatedly threatened family with legal /police action after they contacted company directors to update them and also pressured family to remove the resident. Feedback sent to the CQC including copies of emails and contract as evidence.
Outstanding care provided. Friendly staff and amazing activities for the residents to take part in. The staff are always on hand to go above and beyond and make families feel reassured that their loved ones are cared for.
My mam was placed in the care home initially in May for respite, her condition deteriorated very quickly during the pandemic, and because she was so well cared for during this week, we felt that this would be the best place for her on a long term basis. The home is lovely and clean. The rooms are a good size to enable the residents to make them homely. The staff are fantastic with the residents, they have lots of social activities and a Facebook page for families to see their loved ones.
Mam settled after a few days. I am really happy with the care she is receiving. I enjoying seeing photographs of her on the Facebook page. It helps me keep up to date with all of Mam's activities. Staff are always keen to help and are very friendly.
Mam moved into Springfield House at the beginning of April and settled in really quickly. She enjoys most activities and is happy to join in. Mam speaks highly of all the staff whenever I visit. The staff are very approachable and are happy to help with any queries.
Service provided is absolutely first class.
Springfield offers excellent care for my mam, and she has settled really well into the home. This is due to the dedication and hardwood of the caring staff. I'm very impressed with the level of stimulation the residents receive on a daily basis. Thank you very much!
My mother-in-law came to Springfield from a rehabilitation facility to which she was admitted after a short stay in the hospital, having previously lived in her own home. She has found the transition quite difficult, but the friendliness and compassion of staff have won her round. When we visited last week, after a negative Covid test, it was so wonderful to be able to be with her in her room, to meet the welcoming staff and to experience the attractive surroundings. Many thanks to all concerned and especially the Manager and another member of staff who has guided us through the whole process.
I’ve been visiting for the last few years, and last March when visiting had to stop due to the pandemic, I was obviously really upset, but the regular updates and FaceTime calls made me still feel connected and really involved. The staff have all been lovely and so kind. The regular live music streaming events have also kept me entertained over the long months of isolation. More recently, being able to come back to the homes visiting area, and be tested and handed a warm drink on arrival, is just amazing!
This home has provided excellent care for many years and all staff care deeply about all in their care. The communication during this awful time has been impeccable. This has been both stressful for staff and residents as they have had limited communication with families, and the introduction into the relative viewing pod is amazing. The residents are always happy and exceptionally well cared for. All nutritional needs are catered for and they are always implementing new ideas to ensure residents maintain good hydration. During the pandemic, staff have entertained the residents and many live shows have taken place, come rain or shine. It is so nice the residents smiling and I would have gladly, have Springfield house care for me and my family if ever we require it. Would definitely recommend to anyone who requires care in the future. Thank you Springfield House.
My father was only at the home a short while but contacted Covid and died. We were not told that the Home had Covid issues. He was extremely unhappy during his stay there and died alone during the night despite needing constant care. The police told us of the death. When he died no one from the home contacted us for 6 days and when asked by the undertakers where the body was we were unable to tell him. We asked for two items of my father to be kept for us to collect - a mobile phone and a family photo album which was very precious. When we arrived we were told that these items could not be found and after a lengthy search, they were deemed to be lost. My father kept his financial information on his mobile phone and so the funds in his account could not be accessed to pay his outstanding bills and funeral costs. The photo album contained all our memories of my dad. A total mess from start to finish and I would urge anyone thinking of sending a loved one here to think again.
I'd like to thank the staff at Springfield for their dedication and care shown to my Aunt and everyone else during 2020. Although we haven't been able to visit directly the visiting booth is a most welcome addition and the regular photographs, video and calls have kept the family fully informed (and entertained) throughout the year. My Aunt has made many new friends and looks so well it's so heartwarming to know that she is surrounded by such lovely caring people. Happy New Year.
