Organising meetings so I can see and talk to my Mum whilst I'm spending a significant time away from her out of the UK. Don't like to single out staff but three in particular you are invaluable. Big thanks to all the staff at Guisborough Manor.
Took care of my mother for two weeks to help give my father a break. She had a great relationship with the staff who treated her with dignity and care as she suffers from severe dementia.
I have enjoyed the staff are good with all the care to help me get on my feet.
Very welcoming and homely.
We reluctantly had to put my dad into a care home due to his falling over and dementia which changed him from a very gentleman to an angry man. My dad's care was a very front of Guisborough Manor's staff and any issues were sorted very quickly when Dad was dying there. Palliative end-of-life care was amazing not just to Dad but to us as a family, making sure we had everything we needed kept us going. Sandwiches, drinks and lots of heartfelt words. I do think the rooms need some updated, small matter in the scheme of things.
My mam has been a resident at Guisborough Manor for the last year. The care she is given on a daily basis is first-class. The kindness and respect from all the staff (even at stressful times) have been a real comfort to me. I know Mam is being looked after and is safe each day and this helps me cope with my daily life. I can't praise the staff enough - from the admin support to the cleaners. Thank you.
Overall my mother-in-law had a satisfactory stay. She made some new friends, however she was disappointed that there were not many planned activities. She missed her trifles and doughnuts in the afternoon and hot milk in the morning for her cereal biscuit. Overall the staff are friendly and helpful and she would be happy to stay again for respite care.
Excellent care for my father before he passed away. The staff are kind, compassionate and above all caring. The home is spotlessly clean and the staff are always interacting with the residents. Would highly recommend Guisborough Manor, this care home is not just a care home but a real home.
Mams care is excellent, she is happy here. The staff are excellent. Feel better knowing Mam is here and I can come and go as I please to see Mam which she loves. I feel part of the family. Very friendly staff. 100% couldn't ask for more. Management has an open door, always happy to chat.
Guisborough Manor is a fantastic place. Clean and tidy. Staff are wonderful, kind and caring.
Since Mam was admitted to Guisborough Manor for respite, we have seen such a change in her, she is so happy and content here. The staff are all really friendly, helpful and polite and Mam gets on with them all so well. She is really well looked after and provided for here.
Since Mum has been here I've noticed a huge difference in her. She's happy and feels at home, that's down to the staff. They all take the time to chat and have made her feel welcome and safe. Everyone has been amazing and should be very proud of the care they give. I can't thank them enough.
Lovely caring home and care provision that we are happy to entrust the care of our Mum and Dad. Caring staff who genuinely treat our family members with support, comfort, care and compassion.
My mum has been resident in this care home for a few months and has been happy and well cared for. The staff are friendly and caring and look after my mum really well. The home is clean and the facilities are excellent. My mum loves it here.
Right from day one the staff have been excellent, caring, and professional in everything they do and Mother-in-law has everything she needs.
Guisborough Manor is a homely place with a calming atmosphere. My mam was given the very best care right up until her final days with ultimate dignity. I believe the communications from the home were exemplary, so I was always in the loop.
Cannot thank the staff enough for all the care that was given to my auntie while she was in the home, also for the help and information the family received and for compassion when needed.
The residents are bored as there is nothing happening here at all. Staff vary, some are kind but others are rude and not particularly pleasant. My mother has become very depressed here as there is no stimulation. She sits all day in a bleak lounge falling asleep in front of the tv. Another resident was amazed when a carer played darts with her last week, saying that had never happened before. A noticeboard displays activities; these include visitors and tv!! One activity is pampering, which means a carer cutting nails with clippers! I do fear for the mental health of the residents. The staff use the resident's dining room to do paperwork, which I don't think is appropriate. There could be up to 4 carers in there at a time; surely this time could be better spent with residents. The home is on a plot of land with nothing but a fast food or a grocery store to visit. It is too far to push a relative into town, so why was it ever built there?
My father-in-law has been here for a year now and during this time has presented as difficult at times. Staff have always been respectful, polite and tried to engage him. His move up to the dementia floor has been smooth and his care up there has been excellent. Management and seniors have always done their best for him and us and communicated with us to the best of their ability.
My experience of Guisborough Manor, previously in management myself in health and social care, is that there is great management. You can see that in the safety procedures when entering the home, to Covid restrictions and further the residents' belongings and rooms are safe and secure. The staff are warm, welcoming and fully trained. There is always some activity going on whenever I visit and the residents and staff are always happy. It is evident that the residents are stimulated and feel loved and safe.
