View Full Details of The Gables Care HomeAll staff very friendly and approachable. Mam's always clean and tidy. Always get a update on Mam's medication and her wellbeing. Everybody is professional with their attitude, gives me and my brother good peace of mind Mam is in good hands.
We used this care home as the only one available for emergency respite when we needed it, the reviews were not good, but we decided to give it a try as we are a hands-on family and would be there quite a lot anyway, I would urge anyone to give this home a chance, make your own mind up, the staff here are fantastic and go above and beyond to look after the residents emotionally and physically.
The smile on my Mothers face when any member of staff approaches says it all. I call in every day and my Mothers always clean and tidy. All the staff are approachable, polite and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. I will never be able to praise and thank them enough.
My mam is very well looked after by the staff. All the staff are very helpful and caring. I would recommend The Gables Care Home to anyone.
Staff are fantastic and go over and above for residents. So nice to be able to get to know the same faces which makes all the difference for us and Mum. The social calendar this year has been much improved with lots going on to get Mum out of her room. As regular visitors we are also made to feel very welcome.
My nan was placed in this care home for rehabilitation and she spent around 5 weeks here, staff were amazing, always kept me updated on Nan's progress when I visited. Nothing was ever too much to ask, always went above and beyond.
My brother has resided in this care home for some time now. Throughout that time he has been well cared for and all needs attended to satisfactorily. Even though he can be quite stubborn and fixed in his ways, he has received excellent care with care staff going above and beyond his needs. Never hesitating to contact me as Next of Kin when needed.
Staff are lovely, very caring and get to know residents. New management have made some great improvements. Decor of rooms is tired but I have been advised this will be addressed shortly. My Mam is safe and well cared for at The Gables.
Very happy with how happy and settled my mam is since arriving here, has a good bond with all the staff. Mam is fed well, enjoys her food always.
My husband has only been in The Gables Care Home for three weeks, he seems happy. I can see they keep him dressed good and he seems happy with the food.
I am very happy with what staff have done for Mam. A great bunch of people. They went above and beyond to help Mam. You only have to ask and they do their best. I like the way I am greeted with smiley faces on a morning when they let me in. I have not given a rating for activities and management due to not meeting them properly.
For my short stay here, I have been happy with the way I have been looked after, from the food to people looking after me in care. Constructive criticism: night staff not being mindful of residents sleeping e.g. proceeded to tuck my leg in and take my socks off really frightened me (I do not take my socks off and have bad feet/highly sensitive). A particular night staff male (young) is gentle, thoughtful and outstanding in his approach to his job. I do not like to be woken up in the early hours asking if I am alright and need help.
I have been happy with the care home. The staff I met could not do enough for my mother. Very friendly, approachable and kind. The food was lovely and good communication between Mam and the cook, who is very friendly also. I haven't put a rating for activities as I have not met her and I haven't put a rating for manager as I only met her for a few minutes. Constructive criticism: staff to ensure used gloves are put in bin, I found four in various places e.g. sink, floor, etc. Overall, I go home reassured that Mam is looked after.
All the staff are lovely and friendly. Makes Mam comfortable. The kitchen staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for Mam.
My mam has settled well since going into The Gables. All staff have a caring attitude. My mam suffers from anxiety, and the staff always reassure her when she is getting worried. The home is always welcoming and clean. Any queries I have are answered straight away, either over the phone or by email.
When trying to place parents into safe accommodation, the home's manager put our minds at great that all would be ok. At a stressful time, this caring was what was needed to help things along. We felt happy leaving our parents for 24-hour care, something that was a hard decision to make.
I needed some help with my father's claim for funded nursing care. I called the home and spoke to the area manager. She was extremely helpful, making sure I had all the correct rights of access to information, which really assured us that my father was being treated as an individual and his rights were being safeguarded. Everything was sorted out very quickly and she even made sure my father was kept informed, every step of the way, even though we were keeping him informed ourselves. The staff in the home were helpful with relaying messages to us and I cannot fault the care they are giving to my father. Thank you.
Lovely home and lovely staff. I like that pets can come back to the care home.
We were very pleased and grateful for the level of care my father received during residential respite and then end of life nursing care. All the staff were professional, considerate and caring both to my father and the immediate family. The nursing staff (both day and night) were exceptional in their level of care and compassion. Communication was excellent, from the first contact with the manager to day to day contact. I would recommend the home without reservation.
My husband loved the first two weeks, then as his health deteriorated the food/drink/activities did not apply. The home was well managed and all the team were caring and polite. He had to go into hospital for tests and was dehydrated. He returned back to the home where nursing care was available. The word 'care' really applies to The Gables. The family and myself were also tested very kindly.
