My mum resides in Brownlee Court Care Home, Mum seems happy and content with the care she receives. I visit my mother quite often and the care staff are great with her and they have a great rapport. In my view, I feel that Mother is happy and content.
A very friendly, caring home. Professional, friendly staff. Home has a family feeling/atmosphere. Welcoming to everybody equally. Residents have lots of activities to take part in. With music and laughter as the norm.
When it becomes obvious that your loved one is in need of 24-hour per day nursing care, it becomes a very hard decision to have to make. After looking around a number of local nursing homes, we decided on Brownlee Court Care Home and we are so glad we did. My wife has now been a resident there for some sixteen months and during that time, she has received the most dedicated care from all the staff. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire team for their dedication and loving care they are giving to my wife. I'm sure if it wasn't for their care she wouldn't still be with us today. Thank you all.
My dad was admitted to Brownlee Court in 2024 for rehabilitation after a hospital stay. As a retired district nurse I found it difficult to find fault with the care that he received. As his home carer was on holiday over Christmas this year he has returned to Brownlee for a week of respite care. I am pleased to say the standard of care continues to be very high. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the standard of cleanliness is exemplary. I will not hesitate for my dad to return to Brownlee for future respite or long term care.
My mam has been in the care home for two years. She has dementia. Staff are all lovely and treat my mam with the utmost respect. Any problems, staff are really helpful and quick to rectify. Mam loves it in the home, she only went in for a week respite but ended up wanting to stay.
Very good, no explanation. Both Man (ten years ago) and now Dad. I nursed for forty years so I am able to assess the home's abilities and shortfalls. They all have a hard job, even just being aware of the tragedy of the patients'/residents' life changes. Well done and thanks!
I would like to thank you for the care and love you had shown my late dad on the Dementia Unit and Nursing Unit end-of-life care. You all are worth your weight in gold, keep on doing what you do and be proud. Very best wishes from myself and the family.
I visit an elderly lady, a friend's mum. I visit most days and I must say the staff are exceptional, their dedication to the residents is outstanding, they put residents and visitors at ease. They have been fabulous with the care my friend's mum needs and above and beyond seems to be commonplace. The home is immaculate and warm. The manager is attentive and thorough and the carers take their job role extremely serious and never lose sight of the needs of the residents, friendly and upbeat staff have been a pleasure to talk to.
Our mother who is 94 became a respite resident in early September 2023. Unfortunately, she died later that month. My three brothers and I, together with our wives, were all thoroughly impressed with all staff and nurses who came into contact with our mother. The level of care and attention was first class.
The home is currently being renovated to a high standard. The nurses are diligent and on the ball. Care staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is great, though menus follow a pattern. Snacks and drinks are served throughout the day. My family member requires monitoring every hour and I am happy this happens most of the time. There are large showers and assisted bathing facilities and every room has its own bathroom. There are planned activities for residents if they wish to take part. As in every home, there are occasional issues, but staff respond quickly to concerns.
My wife needed a care home with EMI nursing facilities and Brownlee fulfilled all requirements. My family were very impressed from first visiting the home and we are finding that everything is fulfilling all our expectations. The manager and all staff have a very sensitive approach to residents and their families and nothing is too much trouble. The nursing unit is well presented with a nurse and carers available at all times for questions and consultation and great care has been taken to make my wife feel comfortable. The food is of a high standard, served on time and I am always offered the opportunity to join her. Questions were asked regarding her likes and dislikes but she enjoys all food and has a hearty appetite. In summing up I would gladly recommend Brownlee Court to anyone requiring such facilities to care for their loved ones.
My brother has been in Brownlee Court since November 2022 on the residential floor. After an initial settling in period we realised the benefits of having 24 hour care and knew it was the best option for him. The regular care staff are fabulous and are always happy to chat and update me on my brother's time there. The care home are no longer needing to take on agency staff which is a massive plus. I cannot praise the manager and her team of admin staff, carers, kitchen staff, domestic and maintenance staff enough. They always greet me with a smile and put my mind at rest that my brother is being well cared for. If a problem arises, I know they will listen and do their utmost to resolve it. Well done Brownlee Court.
Lovely walking into the care home and it smelling lovely and fresh. All modern and decorated to a high standard. All areas are spacious and clean. Tea/coffee-making facilities for family to freely use. Mam's room is a good size and her bathroom is a great size. Staff are always friendly and willing to answer questions if required. Lots of activities for the residents to engage.
Staff are excellent and friendly. Mum was there for respite, staff looked after her very well, introduced her to some ladies who were very friendly with her and made the whole experience less daunting. Staff were really friendly with the rest of the family. Medication was ordered promptly and picked up by staff. Highly recommend. Plenty of activities.
After reading amazing reviews regarding Brownlee court we jumped at the chance to put my mam in here for some respite. Upon Arrival my arrival I was shown to my mam's room 72. We were sat in the room for over an hour only seeing the nurse to discuss her medication and DNAR. No one welcomed us, showed us around or helped settle my mam in. Leaving a loved one in a nursing home for the first time is daunting and family need reassurance that they are going to be looked after but sadly this was not the case. We felt uneasy and unsafe to leave her there. The room was dirty/unkept, I understand that part of the home my mam was staying in was getting a refurb but if the room wasn’t ready it should never have been offered to us, it had stained carpets and battered-up furniture. The manager offered to clean the carpet but we had already made our mind up that we were not leaving her there. We were told my mam would be close to the nurse's station as she was a falls risk, this was also not the case.
All the staff are good, the kitchen staff, carers and housekeeping. I have had to come back to Brownlee because I was falling a lot - I couldn't cope.
My mother was a resident until her death last year. She was looked after by wonderful staff who were lovely to family as well as Mam. Since her death my friend has gone into care, so now I go and visit her. She loves Brownlee Home and the staff. The food is always amazing, the cleaners do an excellent job and the staff, well, I can't explain how wonderful they are.
Mum has been at Brownlee for seven weeks now after a sizweek stay in hospital with a broken hip and her previous care home unable to meet her needs due to the progression of her dementia. I was very apprehensive about the move but the change in her has been incredible. The staff here are absolutely wonderful and for the first time in any care setting mum has built relationships with them and I genuinely feel like they care, it’s so much more than a job to them. Hearing a staff member say they have hugged your relative when you can’t be there yourself makes such a huge difference to the weight we all carry having a loved one in a care home. Mum is always clean, warm and has gained almost a stone in weight which is a miracle. Although her dementia can sometimes be challenging it is recognised as an illness not an inconvenience. The staff always have time to speak to me when I call which living 70 miles away means a lot to me. Just a lovely place, just wish you were closer!
I am the daughter of one of the residents in Brown Lee Court, the care given to my mum is excellent, mum is very happy living in Brown Lee Court, she is always well dressed and clean, she is also beginning to join in some of the activities which must of been difficult for the activities coordinator to coax mum as she likes her own company, so it’s lovely to see mum joining in and enjoying herself with the other residents, it amazes me how she has gone from being very anxious ,when she first went into the home to being settled, the carers all take time to talk individually by name to all the residents. The cleanliness of the home is exceptional, friendly staff and always happy and smiling, all mums care needs have been met and she has gone from sitting in her room when she first arrived to being in a lounge and dining room with other people, well done Brown Lee Court.
