It would be useful if when going in residents were asked to attach name tags to clothing; my wife is missing some of hers and has acquired others (very good ones!) not originally belonging to her. Some items now have a label. There are difficulties with missing sticks and specs. Overall very pleased, as is the family that, during her first year, she has been happy living at the home.
Stobars Hall has proven itself to be as good as everyone says. The place is fabulous, the grounds are great, the views are second to none. The staff and management go the extra mile to make sure that their residents are comfortable and settled. The food Is very good with a good variety of choices. We have only great things to say about our experience with every aspect of Stobars Hall. Thank you.
In my opinion the management are much better on PR than on actual delivery. The induction went well and a lot was promised in the way of activities and baths etc but little was delivered. Admittedly my mother is a difficult character and spent much of her time in her room. She is much more integrated and takes part in activities and even outings in only a few weeks of being in her new home. I feel that she would have received better care if she had had dementia or Alzheimer's because those residents don't complain. Overall I feel let down and disappointed and wouldn't recommend Stobars Hall for this type of resident.
The respite stay has been very good. The staff are always available and are very helpful. I raised two issues and both were dealt with immediately. I have eaten all the food, which is very good and plenty of variety. I enjoyed the entertainment. I feel very safe at Stobars Hall.
My mother was taken in for respite so my sister (full-time carer) could have a break. The care and devoted attention given to my mother was exceptional. My mum was always comfortable and pleased with how she was being cared for. Sadly my mum passed away whilst at Stobars Hall. The support and compassion were brilliant, thoughtful and understanding. I would recommend and praise the staff and the care provided.
She is quite contented and happy at the home. The staff, particularly the day staff, do a good job of being kind and caring. She loves her room and the fact that she is able to have some of her personal furniture in there. The manager and her team always take time to listen, and so I've any problems.
My mother was made to feel so welcome the day she arrived from the hospital. The entertainment is excellent. The staff go above and beyond expectations. They are very caring and attentive to residents' needs and also make visitors feel very welcome. Plenty of food and drinks are provided. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. When we visited, there was lots of singing, and my mother was joining in. It was so good to witness that. The home is beautiful nice antique furniture, and the garden is outstanding. We took Mum out in her wheelchair, and she did enjoy it. I feel confident that my mum is receiving excellent care.
My sister has dementia; she has been a resident at Stobars Hall care home since March 2021. The staff are friendly, kind and patient. My sister has a lovely room and bathroom, and I have been able to decorate it with some of her personal items. My sister is very content and happy living at Stobars.
My mother has been in residence for about 3-4 years now. She has Alzheimer's Dementia and mobility problems. She wants for nothing in this home - she is cared for, left alone or entertained as she wishes, kept warm, well fed and stimulated. Our minds are at ease knowing she is so well cared for!
My brother sadly was diagnosed with an aggressive terminal illness. He moved into Stobars Hall due to his care needs. From the start, nothing was too much trouble for the manager and her team. My brother's room was lovely - large, ensuite and light and airy. He was allowed to take his large collection of books and framed prints for the wall, which gave him comfort and familiarity in the last few weeks of his life. At a very difficult time in my life, the manager and her team were a huge help and comfort.
My mother has received excellent care while she has been staying here, and she has been very happy.
Assessment and acceptance into Stobars are excellent. Care and support are excellent. My mum had an incident in June clavicle; however, this was dealt with by management and the GP very well. My mum always seems happy and settled. Communication regarding my mum is very good from the management. Overall, Stobard is very friendly and homely, and my mum receives good care. Friendly and supportive from all staff. Management is excellent and very approachable, and it's reassuring my mum is in good hands. Thank you.
My sister was sent to Stobars Hall from the hospital, which seemed not to have capacity. She is happy and well cared for, she had company, she does activities, and they take her for walks because she loves walking. I can now visit her and enjoy our time together instead of stressing about what I'm going to find when I go, which in turn gives me peace of mind. The manager and staff are wonderful. In fact, she is the happiest I've seen her for years. I cannot praise them enough.
I am quite happy to see my mum here; she seems very settled and happy. She has only been in Stobard Hall since May 2020. I haven't actually been in the home because of the circumstances we have been in. The only thing I am not too happy about is there is no weekend visiting, which for most families that work, this is the best time to visit.
Happy with my mother's care and recent changes Stobars Hall has made to permit Covid-safe visits.
My brother had been in the hospital for more than three months after a bad stroke, which left him unable to walk. While he appreciated the care and friendliness at the hospital, our family are just so grateful that he was able to spend his last few weeks at Stobars Hall. Not only was the nursing care excellent; above all, the warm, family atmosphere was unmistakable. He had been able to eat very little, but great care was taken to provide nourishing meals and drinks that he could enjoy. And there was a real concern to find out about him as a person. For instance, when they heard of his love of bird-watching; a bird–feeder was attached to his window, and it gave him great pleasure to watch the tits feeding, even on the afternoon before he died. Typically, a small gesture yet richly significant. We, his family also felt included in the Stobars Family: our many phone calls were always welcomed, and any help needed was immediately forthcoming.
Especially in these difficult times, it is hard to see how the staff could have done a better job of looking after and caring for my mother. They have also been extremely diligent in keeping the home clear of the covid virus. They have always been very helpful over the phone and have done their best to facilitate visiting, it is not their fault that this cannot be very satisfactory in these times. The home did an amazing job to celebrate mum's 100th birthday and make a great occasion of it. The staff are extremely caring, the management excellent and the food high quality. My only criticism is that it seems to take a very long time to repair problems with the rooms, my mum has had to move out twice for a long spell which she finds very disorientating. However, I recognise the difficulty of getting good workmen in, especially during these restrictions. Keep up the good work, you are all doing a great job.
The staff have been so good with Mum, helping her to settle in and keeping the family informed during COVID. Such good care, great food and lovely surroundings. We have been so pleased that Mum has been in a safe place during COVID, and to see her relax and be happy again. A big thank you to all the staff!
My cousin has been a resident at Stobars Hall since late last year, and I have visited him on a regular basis in that time. I have found the staff very caring of him, and he has been happy with his treatment and his meals. I have seen him today outside, and everything was done correctly. He has a wonderful room with good views out of both windows. I have always been made most welcome.
Lovely home and grounds are well kept, and the surrounding is in lovely countryside. The new manager has improved the home to a very good standard. The staff are very kind and helpful; it is in a very happy environment. My husband is very happy and is cared for very well.
