View Full Details of Acorn GrangeA lovely care home where my mother was loved and cared for in her last years. Always treated with respect and kindness by all of the staff.
All members of staff and carers are very pleasant and polite and if there's a problem they are all very approachable, and it's sorted as soon as it possibly can. Recently I have noticed a shortage of care staff when a member rings in sick it puts more pressure on other staff and makes it harder for them to keep an eye on the residents.
My grandad has been at Acorn Grange care home now for 14 months, he has settled in well and as a family, we are happy with his overall care, the staff are amazing, from management to housekeeping! The care staff never stop, they go above and beyond and always act in the best interests of their residents. The building is always spotlessly clean, my Grandads room is homely, a great size, and suitable for his needs. Any issues we have had as a family have been resolved promptly, communication is good & I'm grateful to all of the special staff, (there are too many to name) they have allowed and encouraged Grandad to be his "old self" he has such a great sense of humour and after the stroke it was lost for a while, but I'm pleased to say it has returned and it's great to see him laughing and causing chaos, something I didn't think we'd see again!
The staff are always very friendly. The bedroom and communal areas are always very clean and odour free. The managers are always very friendly. Always very hands-on and very helpful. Always makes time for the residents and is not afraid to help other members of staff.
My mother has resided at Acorn Grange since February 2023. The family have nothing but praise for the staff and management who have ensured that all her needs, be it health, emotional and social are met to the highest of standards. She is safe and secure in a caring, homely environment, and we cannot thank every staff member enough.
From start to finish, Acorn Grange was very professional, caring and understanding. Cannot thank them enough for giving us the break which we needed.
The staff at Acorn Grange have always appeared very caring to my mother, who at this time has many support needs. Her room is always clean and presented in a way that is comfortable for her (restricting sunlight which she finds painful). Due to her medical issues, she takes her meals in her room, and this is never an issue. As a visitor, the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
During the time my mother has been a resident, she has always been treated with kindness and respect. She is well looked after and always clean and nicely dressed. The staff are friendly and caring. The home itself is always clean, warm and welcoming.
Fab care home. Staff - lovely.
My first time in a care home, and it is a very good experience. Staff are excellent. Room is nice. Food is tasty. Visitors and family are made welcome. Showers and toilets are very clean. I enjoy the activities.
Dad went to Acorn Grange for respite care from hospital but unfortunately it turned into end-of-life care. Under the circumstances, I can honestly say the staff from the manager, admin, carers, kitchen staff, laundry and cleaners were all excellent, caring people, proficient and gave my dad such good care in his last days. They also looked after his family, always keeping us informed of any changes in his condition and giving us comfort too. Some of the rooms could do with an update but that's a minor point.
My wife went into permanent care on 15-2-21 at Acorn Grange, and previously to that for five years for periods of respite at Acorn Grange for four years and other not-so-good homes for this first year. I cannot fault Acorn Grange on anything.
My mother has been in Acorn Grange since the end of July for respite care and we are now changing her status to full-time resident. The care she has been given is first class. The home is very clean with none of the unpleasant smells found in some care homes. The staff are constantly working towards taking care of her needs and ensuring she is comfortable.
Due to Coronavirus, Dad going into a care home has not been easy or normal, but the staff have been great, considerate and helpful. I can't comment about decor or activities as I have not been able to go into the home yet, but hopefully that will change.
I appreciate the care given to my mother and that I am kept up to date on how she is. I am informed of incidents such as falls and changes in medication. A nice touch was a card and photograph of her sent early in lockdown.
Compassionate and caring. Keeping in touch this year has been excellent.
I haven't seen my mam for so long now but whenever we ring up the staff have loads of time for us even though they are extremely busy. They are always friendly and go out of their way to help us and mam in any way they can.
I am extremely happy with the care my sister-in-law receives. The staff are most helpful and very very caring. I would have no problem discussing any problem I had as they are all very accessible to any of my sister's needs. Thank you so much for all you do for her.
I am writing this review because I am extremely pleased with the care my husband is and has received for the past two years. I have POA for my husband. His dementia is server, and he has lost all speech, his sight and hearing are very bad also. When he could speak and he knew me, he told me he was pleased with the care, enjoyed the company of the residents and staff. The staff are very good with him. He is always well dressed and clean. In these terrible times, I am kept informed by the management, reception or staff.

The staff and management go out of their way making sure all of the residents are looked after according to their needs, also they are well-nourished.
