View Full Details of Church ViewI feel my nana has the care shes needed! Cant thank everyone enough.
Not enough fluids given throughout day, relative forgets to ask. Lack of visitor chairs. Kind and friendly staff will do anything for mum in law when can.
Its the hardest decision for us to make, but mam being in Church View is the best decision we made, the rooms are big and well maintained the staff are friendly, kind and considerate. We as a family couldn't be happier with the care shes getting.
The best care I could ask for, for my nana. The girls who work here go above and beyond for my nana.
Mam has been in Church View Care Home for about 5 months. She was first upstairs and now downstairs. Mam needs 24 hour care and I must say the staff are great. She likes all meals and eats very well (better than when she was at home) If I did have a complaint it would be about clothes going missing from the laundry room - but I'm not complaining because it is very difficult. (Mams clothes are all labelled up)
The home is very welcoming staff are really nice and helpful. Mam has settled in well and improved since hospital. Feels very homely and warm like a hotel. We feel safe leaving mam in their care.
Sadly due to dementia mum needed 24 hour supervision for safety and admission therefore arranged. As a family, we were made very welcome on the admission day and staff understood my upset and anxiety. Staff are always helpful, polite and come across as very caring. No permanent manage in post at present but told one starting end of October, which I feel will help everyone, staff, residents and relatives. Areas of the care home probably need some decorating and basic maintenance of doors, paintwork etc.
Been here 2 years so far. Things ok, I like it.
I have lived in Church View Care Home for eight years now and enjoyed most of the time here. The staff and carers are very nice, helpful and considerate. I like watching television. I am a supporter of Newcastle Football club. I like music and join in all the activities. I find it annoying when I have to buy my own soup, ginger biscuits and flowers.
My husband stayed for one week respite. All staff members I observed treated him very well, some were quite exceptional. I have some reservations regarding changes of clothes from day wear to night wear. During his stay, I'm not sure of the routine regarding shaving but I did shave him as needed! With his dementia there can be periods of anxiety but he seemed settled during all my visits. If necessary I would use Church View for future respite.
Very disappointed with the level of Care my mam received! Multiple falls over the last year, the last one leading to a broken hip, faeces under her fingernails, food all down the front of her clothes, on numerous occasions faeces running out the bottom of her trousers and family having to change her, and the worst, mam lost her teeth so they thought it okay to put another person's in her mouth (perfect oral hygiene) and then we come to things going missing from her room, perfume, body sprays, clothes still with labels attached, and clothes in general! Then the horrific smell especially on the second floor! Stay well clear!
My father has been in Church View now for 6 months. Initially, there were a few 'teething troubles', however, these were resolved after speaking to the manager. All the care team are fantastic and have a great, friendly relationship with my father. He loves it here, and is really settled, and has no complaints at all. The care team do try their best, even though they are always extremely busy. I am happy with the care and support my father receives in the home.
There are always areas that can be improved, however, given the pressures they are under - staff/patient ratio - all grades of staff perform to a very high standard. Overall, I am pleased with the care my sister is receiving.
I turned up unexpected to view the care home as a possible permanent home for my mam. I felt welcomed and immediately felt the community spirit. The lady who showed me around was very helpful. I got talking to one of the residents in the lounge and nothing but praise was said about the home and the staff, so that was the decision maker for me. My mam has been in almost a week now. The moment she got though the door she was made a fuss of and brought a cup of coffee. I knew she was going to be ok there. The staff are down to earth and have good relationships with the residents. I would highly recommend.
We moved here from another care home, can't believe the difference in my brother, he's so happy and talkative to family. On arrival at the home, we received a welcome from all staff we passed in the corridor on our way to his room, made to feel very welcome. His room is lovely and bright with fitted carpets which he didn't have in his last home although I did offer to pay for one because he is at risk of falling. They assessed his need before we arrived and had everything in place. The staff are great, popping in for a chat and making sure he's ok which is very reassuring for me. They do have lots of activities but haven't tried them yet as he's still settling in, they have a Halloween party next week which we are looking forward to.
My aunt has been at Church View Care Home for two weeks (and could be more depending upon her health). I and our family are very pleased with the standard of care given and excellent facilities. We are always welcomed by friendly staff, shown to my aunt's room (which is spotlessly clean and tidy). My aunt is very happy here and enjoys conversations with staff as well as taking part in a variety of activities (she only complains about the food but she's a fussy eater!). Thank you to everyone at Church View for your continued excellent hard work.
The staff are brilliant, will try to do anything you ask, my brother-in-law who is there is very happy to be there and hopefully will be there for a long time.
The carers and staff were very pleasant, they went about duties in a professional way, my mother seemed happy at the home. The rooms were very clean and tidy, I would highly recommend Church View Care Home.
Staff always pleasant, home always clean and welcoming.
When my nan first went into Church View I was disappointed that each time I went in to see her she didn't have her own clothes on (yet she has plenty of clothes), her nails were full of faeces and they never put her hearing aid in. However, now that there is a new manager the personal care has improved and I am happy.
