View Full Details of Darlington ManorCaring, loving, dedicated, professional staff as often witnessed by myself and family during many years, but particularly the last few weeks of my cousin's life.
The staff are wonderful. The staff are what makes this care home truly different. They are always so pleasant, cheerful, and quickly helpful and always make me feel a very welcome visitor. I am welcome at mealtimes and was warmly invited to a lovely two-course lunch. The food is very good. On one visit I witnessed the chef going around talking to residents about the menu items and references of residents. The building is always spotlessly clean and tidy. Care home work and management is very difficult. Darlington Manor management enables all the staff to come together and work not just as a good team but as a family. The result is a home, where all the staff are willing to go the extra mile with a pleasant smile and cheerful voice.
Only positive feedback. The staff and Managers are so polite and friendly. My friend loves all the daytime staff, especially the three carers. The room allocated to him is especially homely, comfortable and clean. Always room for improvement but 100% happy with his care. Always smells clean and the bathrooms are spotless. Well done to the Manager and her team.
My review covers the three years my dad spent at the care home, daily telephone conversations and weekly visits. The consistent care continues right to the very end. Dad always told us he was well looked after and very content with the home. (Apart from being very frustrated at times that he wasn't allowed out on his own!).
The home is well established, clean and cared for, the activity team work very hard for the residents. The manager goes above and beyond for the care of both residents and staff. It's the best move we have made for our dad.
Fantastic manager and staff make this a wonderful place, giving genuine loving care to residents. Our mother-in-law has been a resident for nearly 4 years. She has advanced dementia and complex behavioural challenges. All staff treat her with respect and dignity and genuinely like her and care for her brilliantly. The manager leads her team by displaying all the caring qualities one would wish for. Cannot recommend Darlington Manor Nursing Home highly enough.
The love and care given to my nanna was exceptional. It was genuine, and they made her feel at home. Thank you.
We found Darlington Manor to provide excellent care for my mother-in-law. It totally changed our opinions on care homes. From daily care to providing an extensive range of activities for the residents was amazing. My mother-in-law loved living here and that helped put our minds at rest knowing she was so well looked after. We would recommend Darlington Manor to anyone looking for a care home. The staff were all amazing!
I was unable to visit Darlington Manor prior to choosing it as a home for my mum, due to Covid. Several friends recommended it. I can honestly say that all of the staff from housekeeping, catering, management and care staff are totally caring and go over and above for their residents. They treat everyone as though they were family. Mum's dementia made her distressed at times and the staff always tried everything to calm her. Mum deteriorated and died in early March and the staff kept me informed to the end. Ringing me on an evening to reassure me even when I had been in twice that day. They always treat me so well, remembering my name, making cups of tea and looking out for me. Thoroughly recommended, a diamond of a care home.
Only one word for the caring staff from the top to the bottom, excellent.
Excellent care, good food, happy, friendly atmosphere. All staff caring, helpful and friendly, making my stay pleasant and I came out after three days feeling better than I've felt in years and as if I was leaving friends and family.
My mum was staying at Darlington Manor from January to March 2021 for respite and rehabilitation. Unfortunately, her health deteriorated and she sadly died on March 17th. During her stay, we were only allowed to visit her in a pod due to Covid restrictions until the last two weeks of her life when we were able to enter her room to be with her. We found the staff to be very caring, dedicated and professional. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble. On a couple of occasions, I commented that the staff appeared to be very nice and mum's reply was 'all the staff are nice here'. My partner and I would like to say a very big thank you to all the staff who helped us get through a very sad time.
I am very happy with the care and attention that I am receiving at Darlington Manor Care Home.
I enjoy being in this home. I am well looked after. The staff are very good and the meals are very good.
I, and I am sure all the residents in this care home, would like to say a big thank you to all staff for the way we have been looked after during this difficult time of Covid. The staff have come in every day and night, and nothing has been too much for them. They have been wonderful, and I would recommend this care home to anyone.
My elderly mum with multiple health issues spent nearly 3 weeks in Manor Care Home and throughout the whole time, she appeared very well cared for especially with respect to being dressed and having her hair and nails done. We (dad and I) were fortunate enough to be able to visit mum due to the Covid secure pod which was a real bonus as we hadn't seen mum whilst she'd been in different hospitals. From the first day mum was in Manor Care Home (Darlington) communication was great, staff answered the phone after a couple of rings and the same with the door when we were visiting. All the staff I spoke to or met couldn't have been nicer, very professional, friendly and caring. Mum said she enjoyed the meals and activities provided. The standard of cleanliness seemed very high.
Staff are caring, considerate and friendly. Going to miss them when I leave. The home is kept extremely clean by cleaning staff that takes pride in how clean they keep the home. The food is good - home cooking and hot when it comes. I had no problems with any meal I had. Two caring activities staff had plenty of fun and varied activities for all residents. Thank you all for being lovely.
I would recommend the Manor to anyone. All the staff; carers, cleaners, kitchen staff have made me feel welcomed and part of the family. They all work hard especially in the difficult time with that covid pandemic. They are lead by an excellent manager. The staff are all very caring and friendly. My family are made to feel special too; recently we have had a visit pod built which has been great for me to see my family.
My mam has been in the Manor for a year now and if it wasn't for the staff in the home being good, caring, professional in all they do and keeping all residents safe and well, I don't know how my family and I would have coped in the last 12 months. They are also at the end of the phone and do their best, especially when understaffed.
My wife - in her eighties - was found to be suffering from a urinary infection and surgery doctors recommended Darlington Manor Care Home in preference to hospital treatment. Such a condition can require time to heal. It very swiftly became apparent to both of us, and to our mature son and daughter, both happily resident in Darlington, that the efficiency and planning in all areas of treatment and care, not to forget comfort, left really nothing to be desired and as patient and visiting relatives we enthuse to pay tribute.
