View Full Details of Harwood CourtHarwood is a very homely home. Clean, warm and staff are very attentive, friendly and always smiling. Has a real feel-good atmosphere among all staff including management, carers, cooks and even the maintenance man. Long may it continue.
Mam has lived here for over three years. It's a lovely home, everyone is so caring. A wonderful community - so friendly and homely.
I first came upon Harwood Court when my mother became a resident in June 2023. Prior to that, her health was failing and a number of consecutive falls meant regular visits to A&E. I had never experienced life in a care home before my mother's inception and although it was difficult at first, visiting and then leaving her, not knowing how she was coping with the new surroundings, it soon became apparent she was settling in really well. The carers are very friendly and attentive and always have a smile on their faces. Nothing is too much for them. Her room is always clean and tidy, bright and cheerful. The management have always made themselves available and have been very helpful when required. In short, my mother is very settled and happy with her surroundings and the care she is receiving. I too am extremely happy and have confidence in the way she's being cared for at this time of her life. Thank you to each and every member of staff.
My mother-in-law became a resident of Harwood Court over a year ago. At that point, her health was failing and she had suffered from ongoing falls that had generally led to almost routine visits. Although being naturally anxious at first, she quickly became comfortable and confident within her care setting and the improvement to her health and overall demeanour was a joy to see. Without exception, each and every member of staff have proved to be very helpful and friendly. We cannot fault the Management who have always made themselves available and gone that extra mile to ensure that all needs are met. Her room is always clean and tidy, and she is afforded the privacy and dignity of having her own private toilet and wash basin. The staff continue to support my Mother-in-law in every possible way. From the everyday needs of dressing, bathing, and mobility to a weekly visit to the hairdressers and nail bar, a highlight in her diary. Thank you everyone.
My dad is currently on respite in Harwood Court. I can't recommend this home enough. The staff are extremely respectful to words my dad and friendly. Nothing is a bother. The home has a very homely feel. Highly recommend it.
When Dad needed respite care about 4 years ago we visited other more modern care homes but chose Harwood Court over the others as we got an immediate positive feeling about the staff who took time to introduce themselves and ask questions of Dad. After a week of respite, he asked to stay permanently. He passed away on 30th June 2023 in the home. The staff here are superb and made Dad feel like a member of a bigger family. His care was brilliant and he really loved everyone at Harwood Court. I would certainly recommend this care home and believe that Dad's life was extended as a result of living here.
I am a friend of a resident at Harwood Court. On the occasions, I visit the home I have been impressed with all I have encountered. Through my involvement and connection with the local methodist church, I have a long standing connection - the main advantage I feel is the size of the home which appeals to most.
My father was taken to hospital in May and was in and out after that at the end of August he was put on end of life. We fought to get him home and eventually succeeded. He was delighted! He spent his last week and a half being so well cared for and loved (as he has always been). I could not praise all the staff highly enough - a wonderful home.
It is such a relief to know that my Gran is safe and cared for. Every time I visit there is such a lovely atmosphere. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The residents are given quality care and included in making decisions about what they do with their time, both day to day and in the long term. I am constantly reassured that the decision to move here was definitely for the best. Thank you to everyone at Harwood Court.
What a lovely place it's definitely a home from home. All staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Mum's health appears to have improved immeasurably since she became a resident here. She is happy and enjoys all the activities. Always clean and presentable too. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
When Mam first came to Harwood she isolated herself and was reluctant to join in with the activities, even eating her meals alone in her room. Now she is settled she participates a lot more and is clearly enjoying herself. The staff have been instrumental in this change, being consistently positive and always treating her with kindness. I live in Chesterfield and management have been excellent in keeping me informed of even minor changes. I cannot thank you all enough.
Staff are amazing with residents and family members. Cleanliness of care home excellent, management very approachable. I am extremely grateful for the care provided for my Mam.
My Mum is so happy living here, which makes me very happy. The level of care is excellent and the residents all seem very happy. The staff are fantastic and there are a lot of activities for the residents so they don't get bored. Fantastic staff and care home.
I have always been extremely happy with the care my mum receives after being unsure of a care home in general. I now feel it's been the best choice and as a care home, I couldn't have chosen better! I enjoy my time with my mum when I visit and I am made to feel very welcome, so thank you.
My mother has only been here for 1 month but she is happy and settled already. She is benefitting from the friendly staff and activities.
Mam was only here for respite, but good luck to them getting her home as she loves it here. She loves the staff so much and is dreading leaving. Thank you so much to all the staff for making us both feel so welcome.
It was the best thing for my father to enter Harwood Court, it was also his choice. The care, love and kindness given were amazing. Staff became family to the residents during lockdown when no one could visit. They kept residents safe and well.
The staff are attentive and care for the residents. Also, in all communication with the staff, it is easy to see that they care!
