View Full Details of HeatherdaleMy father went to live at Heatherdale after a sudden decline in his health meant he could no longer stay in his own home. The staff made him feel very welcome, right from the beginning. His room was bright and clean and had a view over the beautiful gardens. Dad was able to join in activities when he was well enough and thoroughly enjoyed himself, there was always something going on when we visited. Dad loved the food and the meals were always well presented and tempting. I cannot praise the staff enough for their care of Dad. He became very poorly and they always treated him with care and dignity. They always went the extra mile for him. Every member of staff is kind, caring and approachable. They always found time to answer our questions and reassure us. Heatherdale is a lovely home with brilliant staff and I will always be grateful to them for making my Dad's last few weeks stress free and comfortable.
I want to express my deep gratitude to the staff at Heatherdale for their exceptional care of my grandmother. They have made a challenging transition much easier for our family. Thank you to the entire team for your dedication and kindness. You truly create a welcoming and caring environment for both residents and families.
I would like to express my gratitude for the care you are giving my Mam in Heatherdale. All the staff are amazing you can see the passion they have for their jobs and residents. I would like to thank you all for the support you have given me without that this journey would have been so much harder.
Just a great big thank you to all the staff at Heatherdale for making a really difficult decision go smoothly. The care that Mam receives is nothing short of amazing. Nothing is ever a bother. They keep you informed of everything you need to know. From Mam starting with daycare, then respite, and now resident the support for Mam and the family has been fabulous and very much appreciated. Mam has settled well, the activities and interaction with staff has been beneficial for Mam's physical and mental well-being. Thank you the manager and all the staff for your kindness, compassion and dedication, you make all residents and their families happy, cared for and welcome.
My relative has been a resident at Heatherdale for 6 weeks respite care and has received excellent care and support. She has been very well cared for and all of the staff are very kind and helpful. Particular praise for the manager who keeps me very well informed with difficult decisions and navigating the care which my relative receives.
The staff and atmosphere at Heatherdale always give you reassurance that your loved one is being cared for by a professional, caring and kind organisation. Well done to all.
For the two months I have been visiting, the care home and staff have been excellent and made a difficult transition very pain free. They support the resident and family very well and answer questions quickly and effectively.
My mam has been a resident at Heatherdale for nearly a year now, it was the biggest decision I have ever had to make. But from the day I went to look around I can honestly say I knew straight away it was the best home for her. The staff are just brilliant, all of them, totally resident-focused, the kindness, compassion and sympathy they show to the residents and family members is above and beyond what you would expect. Nothing is a trouble to them. We were going to have her come for breakfast and lunch on Christmas Day but they have so much on in the morning we have had to skim it down to just lunch. Absolutely a fantastic place and it's all down to the staff, purely brilliant, thank you all for making Mam's stay with you a happy time, would recommend Heatherdale 100%.
It will be a hard task to write a review which does justice to the love, care and support my father was shown when he became a resident at Heatherdale. From the moment you enter Heatherdale you can feel the warmth and affection between the staff and residents and the sense of community that exists. From the very start, the manager and her staff made the transition for my father from living independently at home into residential care as stress-free and happy as they possibly could. Any request no matter how trivial was answered with the manager's unswerving response that this was now my father's home so of course his wishes would be complied with. The compassion and professionalism shown by the manager and every member of her staff cannot be praised highly enough. The respect and welcome shown by all of them to everybody who enters Heatherdale and the obvious pride they have in their home is a glowing testament to the love and hard work they all share. With my gratitude always for your kindness.
The care given to my friend by Heatherdale was exemplary during his two-year spell until he sadly passed away. Heatherdale is well managed with compassion and consideration. Every member of staff without exception was caring and professional to both their residents and visitors. Well done and thanks to all at Heatherdale.
My mam has been a resident at Heatherdale for around three months now and I cannot praise the staff enough. They have developed a wonderful culture of genuine care and compassion which filters into every aspect of the residents' lives. They have worked very closely with me to understand my mam's needs which can be quite complex at times. My mam really enjoys living there and is always entertained with the many activities that the team works so hard at. This is an amazing place and anyone would be lucky to be placed here.
If you are looking for a care home for a loved one then look no further than Heatherdale. My mother has been a resident since April and her behaviour (due to dementia and a brain injury) has made her challenging, to say the least. Their determination to keep her calm and settled is extraordinary and I cannot thank them enough for keeping my mum safe. Every member of staff always has a smile and the food and rooms are excellent. I feel very lucky to have found Heatherdale.
Ever since my cousin has been living in Heatherdale I have been very impressed by the care and attention given to him by the staff. He has always been treated with respect and dignity! Heatherdale has a lovely welcoming family atmosphere and he is made to feel part of the family. With many thanks fo all at Heatherdale.
The care, interest and knowledge show to myself and my mother was excellent. The staff were professional and diligent - keeping mne aware of mothers situation. They cared for her and sought medical advice quickly and calmly. An amazing clean, attractive and fun place for staff and residents . Highly recommended.
My wife was a resident at Heatherdale for a two-week period while we relocated from South West Ireland to Northumberland. She was very nervous about the stay but very quickly settled on arrival and was surprised to get her unique breakfast (dry Weetabix, Muesli and Corn Flakes!) I was very impressed at the manager's very professional assessment and completion of the induction, in addition, I had forgotten to bring my wife's medicines from Ireland but she contacted our Irish GP and resolved this quickly. The staff without exception exuded kindness and efficiency. I felt very confident leaving my wife there. I fully recommend this care home and am happy to complete this review.
Just like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Heatherdale. I am a family member for one of your residents and they are always accommodating when we come in. No problems with the care in the home. Staff reassuring every time we come in with health information. She is always happy when we come in.
Mam moved into Heatherdale after a fall left her with a broken ankle, needing help to get around. At 88 mam was very nervous about going into respite care but the staff were lovely and friendly and put her at ease, which helped her to settle in with the minimum of fuss and stress to herself and her family, she is now getting all the help she needs. A big thank you to all the staff.
My aunt is in the mid stages of Alzheimer's. When it was no longer possible to care for her at home we looked for somewhere she would be happy and safe. She is now settling in well, making friends with other residents, having her hair and nails done regularly and joining in the many activities and outings that Heatherdale offers. She loves her garden room and the garden itself of course and has commented on how good the food is! A definite plus from my aunt. The staff are fantastic, respecting her dignity at all times, helping her maintain her independence where possible, and generally encouraging and supporting her in what is, of course, a difficult transition for anyone to make. Heatherdale came highly recommended by professionals caring for my aunt and by people we know who have had relatives as residents here. I would not hesitate to recommend the service in turn to anyone looking for a really excellent placement for their loved one.
My mother had lived for 92 years independently because of her growing frailty and dementia the time came to seek a care home for her. The staff at Heatherdale have helped so much in making that transition as smooth as possible. They are caring and thoughtful and have good routines and procedures in place to support my mother who now, after only a few months looks much more healthier and cared for than she did when she was living on her own. It has been so difficult for her after the last two and a half years of Covid but she is now getting her hair done when the hairdresser calls, enjoying teas in the beautiful garden, regular baths, regular meals in the dining room and help getting dressed and undressed and she looks so much better for it. Thank you staff at Heatherdale.
My mother has lived at Heatherdale for 18 months. Throughout that time she has been very well cared for, in every aspect, in a kind and understanding way to try and ease her anxieties which have come with dementia. The staff respect her dignity at all times whilst letting her maintain her independence as much as possible. Whenever she has needed medical attention they have been prompt to engage the GP and other professionals and have taken her for hospital treatment as well. The team are always friendly and cheerful and work hard to make Heatherdale a homely and happy place for everyone. There is a varied programme of activities for all to enjoy if they wish. Throughout the year special days and occasions are celebrated and birthdays are never forgotten. The family are very impressed with the dedication of all who work at the home and can’t thank them enough for the care and support they give.
