View Full Details of Abbey DingleLoved this outstanding residential home, set in picturesque grounds in North Wales. Only a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive from town. The owners of the home opened it up to share with the residents, creating a very caring, warm and hospitable home. Always making time for each resident and very aware of their changing needs. No two rooms are alike, each has individual style and shape, with residents able to furnish and decorate as they wish.
My relative was looked after at the Abbey Dingle after discharge from hospital. The staff and management were all delightful and the home itself warm and homely both to those staying there and to visitors. We were always met by a cheerful and helpful member of staff and plied with hot drinks, biscuits, cakes and sometimes meals. The residents are treated as extended family both by managers and staff and a sense of well being pervades with all staying there treated very much as individuals and their likes, dislikes and personal foibles all known and accepted. Sadly, we visit homes more often to see friends and relatives. Many are more modern but with a lack of personality and a certain sterility. All the facilities are kept scrupulously clean and every attempt is made to stimulate those staying there, with social interaction encouraged and talks and events on a regular basis. They encouraged and helped with the exercises prescribed to help recovery and his return to family.
Cannot fault Abbey Dingle at all. My Grandma moved there recently after it was determined she would need residential care due to her vascular dementia. This place has such a welcoming, homely feel and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The staff are all incredibly polite and friendly and the various activities are fantastic for the residents. My Grandma is happy with the food and facilities and has settled into her new home very quickly. I love going in to see her every day, I can go in anytime I like to see her and even get involved with the activities. Just to see my Grandma smile, it makes the world of difference.
When the time came and my husband had to go into a care home, due to his early onset Alzheimer's, we were so incredibly fortunate to already know where he would be most happy. In the two months preceding, he had been spending a couple of days a week at Abbey Dingle and our sons and I knew he was well looked after and enjoyed his visits there. This meant that the move from being at home and his being cared for at Abbey Dingle was far less of an emotional upheaval for all of us. We really could not have hoped for a more caring, approachable and friendly staff. I particularly loved the way that everyone was treated very much as an individual. Nothing was too much trouble. I have very happy memories of a recent special afternoon the home laid on for everyone with an excellent singer followed by a lovely buffet tea in the sunshine. The owners and staff showed their caring commitment to my husband and ourselves right until the end and we can't thank them enough.
The staff always cared for my mother with dignity and a sense of fun. She settled in quickly and made friends with the other residents. The staff organised outings of coffee mornings, lunches, shows and also in house entertainment which was thoroughly enjoyed. In my mother's last weeks I couldn't have wished for better care for her, the staff were always attentive and kept me informed.
