View Full Details of St David's Residential HomeMum has only been at St David's for just over two months, but in that time, I have seen her treated with respect and kindness, she is taken out constantly to different places which she enjoys, and she told me the food is lovely, recently she had her birthday and the chef made her the most beautiful birthday cake, I was sorry I took her one in. Very thoughtful, the staff who cook meals come around when I am there to ask what mum would like for lunch, dinner, they have a lovely option to choose from, the other lovely activity I saw was the staff helping residents with activities, she is very helpful and takes time to help and listen to them. My mum has dementia and is sometimes unsettled, the manager and the staff have been wonderful since mum moved in August, many thanks to all the staff at St David's, I know mum is safe and well cared for, can't thank you enough.
Mum went into St David's initially for respite care, but settled so well and clearly enjoyed it so much that she has become a resident. Knowing that she is safe and well looked after is incredibly reassuring, as I live over 100 miles away and can't visit as often as I would like to. I am kept updated on Mum's well-being and the activities and trips out she enjoys via phone calls and messages in between visits. The staff are all so compassionate and caring, it's lovely to see. A huge weight of worry has been lifted from the whole family, knowing that Mum is safe and happy at St David's.
I am very pleased with the care that my wife is receiving. I am finding the staff very friendly and helpful. I like the fact that I am able to visit my wife at times that suit me and that I am not tied down to rigid times.
My mum has just returned home from a spell at St David's for respite and although she was very reluctant to go into respite care she can not speak highly enough of the care she received. She found all the staff to be kind and caring and her appetite improved while she was there. They were very helpful in finding her a television for her room and assisted her with her mobile phone when necessary. I found everyone very welcoming when I visited and it was easy to check on Mum's wellbeing. I felt she was safe and well looked after. Mum said she would return to St David's again if she needed care in the future which is a huge compliment to the whole team at St David's.
St David's Residential Home has provided a great experience for my mum. Her care is discussed at length and is of a high standard. She is happy which is the main consideration.
I was only in respite care. In this time the staff were friendly, introduced themselves. Top marks to the chef, adapted menu for me. Manager friendly and pleasant. Deputy friendly. Staff probably saved my life after a seizure.
Since my mum arrived she has been very happy, she has gained weight, which was a concern for us as a family. She is happy in herself. Top marks for the staff and care. Top marks for the manager for everything she has done for her.
My dad is now in this care home. It was a hard decision for all of us to make, especially my mum. Since being there, my dad has had his ups and downs. The staff and the manager have been incredible with him. The home is warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in. They have activities on every day which is fantastic for my dad. The manager was warm and caring, the staff are passionate and very hands-on and thoughtful. The manager keeps up to date with everything. The home is clean and tidy and always smells nice. The food looks amazing and, from what I saw, was a 3 course.
My mum came to St David's in 2022 awaiting a home care package. During her stay there she received the upmost care and attention. She was initially apprehensive, due to it all being new and she was frightened. The staff all went above and beyond to make Mum feel prioritised and at home away from home. Very quickly her fears and worries were expelled as every single staff member, from carers, kitchen staff, cleaners and senior staff, all made her feel welcome. Cannot rate high enough!
My husband has just returned home after two weeks of respite at St David's Residential Home. The whole period has proved such a positive experience; we both look forward to repeating this again in the near future. The staff could not do enough for my husband; their kindness, friendliness, professionalism, and caring were second to none, and that is something all his visitors remarked on. His various medications were dispensed on time which, because he has Parkinson's Disease, is important. He was given lovely, nutritious meals, and there was always a hot drink available to him when required. I can't thank all the staff enough.
Excellent care service. Supportive and caring staff who go above and beyond. Can't fault the communication from the management team. A very welcoming and homely feeling when you visit. So pleased with the care provided to my auntie. Thank you to all the team.
Our lifelong friend came to St David's recently for respite care. We found the process to be simple and straightforward, and we were supported regularly by St David's management team. The home has a lovely atmosphere and is very cosy and welcoming. The staff are very polite and friendly. We visited our friend just before lunchtime, and the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen reassured us that our friend would be well fed and looked after here. Thank you, St David's, for all your care and attention
Whether respite or residency, St David's can provide the care required for your loved one, and often at short notice. It speaks volumes that some of the staff have their own relatives in care in St David's, and there are certainly some very able and caring staff working for them. With a quiet location next to the promenade, St David's is well placed for a walk and ice cream on the prom, a quiet period in the memorial garden directly across the road, or even in the garden of St David's itself. If you are considering a care home option in the area, St David's is certainly worth considering.
I enjoy being here. It is comfortable. Friendly and helpful, and so peaceful.
I am very happy my mum is looked after at St David’s. After a bout in hospital, I was determined to get her back to the home, as knew she would get better care and attention there. This, I am pleased to say has proved right. Mum has been at St David’s for at least 2-years, and in that time, has been having fun, inclusion in games/singing etc. It is the happiest she has been in a long time. Her hair is cut regularly and kept tidy, and she has her nails painted to look smart and well kept. The staff are very caring and considerate. The home is always very clean and tidy with lovely rooms and garden. It is run very professionally, and I would recommend it.
Since my mum has been in St David’s, she is very settled and is looked after well. The care staff are always friendly and helpful. The admin staff answer any queries in a timely manner. My mum seems to be very happy here.
Our mother has been with St David’s since May 2021. We have found her to be cared for so well. The staff are so good with her and always friendly and helpful. Mum seems to be settled there, although it’s been so hard leaving her there initially and especially after visits or outings. There have been some emergencies, which the staff have also dealt with professionally and had Mum's best interests at heart. The staff try to involve Mum in activities as much as possible. It’s been difficult at times to see her during the Covid situation, and I commend the managers and staff for how well they have handled it. Thankfully, visiting and outings have almost returned to normal, so we can see our mother more often. I would highly recommend St David’s care home to anyone wishing to find a safe, kind and caring place for their loved one.
My mother was accepted into St David's at short notice at the beginning of the year. Despite the fact, it was the New Year's holiday, the staff at the home could not have been more helpful. My mother has settled into her new life very quickly and is adamant that she will not be returning to living alone which, at the age of 92, is a great comfort as my brother and I live in the south of England. The fact that she has settled in so readily is again down to the support she has received from the staff at St David's. Thanks to you all for making all our lives that much easier.
Happy with everything that’s going on at the home, but not been able to visit because of my age and this Covid. Thank you for all you are doing for my cousin. When the virus is easier, we would love to come and join you all there. Many thanks to you.
It was with a heavy heart that my brother and I made the decision to place Mum who is ninety nine years old into care last November on the advice of her Doctor. As I live in Australia, all the responsibility fell on my brother’s shoulders, making the decision even more distressing. Initially, she kept on asking when she was going back to her own home. Eventually, after receiving such wonderful and compassionate care from the hard working and dedicated staff at St David's Residential Home, she has settled in far better than we had anticipated and quite frankly, she has never looked better. She is now having her hair done weekly which we can see when we chat to her on Skype every Saturday. She also has her nails painted regularly which is a constant source of amusement to us all. She enjoys the wide variety of meals that the head chef prepares, as she delights in telling us. Full credit and thanks must go to the management and all the wonderful staff who have made Mum’s life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
