View Full Details of Willowdale Care HomeExcellent team of staff who have been very helpful and supportive. They have gone above and beyond to ensure our friend has settled in. The home is well-equipped and provides a variety of activities which are tailored to ensure the residents are happy. Highly recommend the home and the staff.
Mum is happy and settled at Willowdale and always says how lovely the food is. The staff are all lovely. Mum gets involved with all the activities which helps to keep her mind working. She has always been a very sociable person so she's in her element with her friends in the day room and watching TV.
I have nothing but praise and admiration for every member of staff at the home, from the maintenance staff, kitchen, cleaners and caregivers right up to the current manager. They all treat Mum with the dignity, care and respect she deserves on every occasion she needs their support. All staff always smile and welcome our family with welcome arms when we visit, that means we feel that Mum is being looked after wonderfully when we go from there. Recent changes there could have been disruptive to residents and families alike but we have been fully informed and involved in these changes when possible. The new activity coordinator has been a huge asset to the home in terms of keeping residents mentally and physically active where possible. I am aware there are a number of agency staff being used but I feel the home is doing all it can to recruit permanent staff. Thank you to all involved in Mum's care.
Willowdale Home has been a wonderful environment for my mother, she has thrived there and continues to do so. The staff are attentive and friendly and meet her needs well. She is well cared for on a day-to-day basis. The home has seen its share of troubles but is coming out the other side stronger.
Just been to visit my mum for her 90th birthday and she has had a grand day with birthday cake and Prosecco as well! Mum has been a resident for over 9 years now and the staff are fantastic and always take great care of her needs. The place is always friendly and everyone is made to feel most welcome. The home manager and her team do a grand job.
Willowdale is a lovely home, the staff are extremely professional and treat Mum with dignity and respect at all times. Mum is totally reliant on others for all her needs, whilst assisting her the staff will always engage and enjoy hearing her sing. Mum has a good sense of humour and staff are able to use this especially on her most painful and uncomfortable days. Mum's room is spacious and comfortable and has the benefit of a very large window which makes it bright and cheery. There is plenty of room for all the equipment she needs and for visitors on days when she wants to stay in bed. An activities coordinator has recently been appointed and when I've visited I have seen various craft activities, bingo and quizzes taking place. The food is good with a range of dishes on the menu each day, always fresh fruit and veg available. Staff consult the residents about the menu. Housekeeping do a great job keeping the bedrooms clean and tidy and managing the laundry. Communication is 5-star.
Willowdale has been my home for nearly six years. I feel safe and secure. All my needs are catered for. I have a very good bond with the staff and residents, it is a place that I feel at home in. The carers support and encourage me, always trying to make me confident and safe. The food is of a very high standard with excellent choice all prepared with local products. A varied choice and cooked to a high standard. My family are confident that I am well cared for.
Fantastic care! My mother is extremely happy there, and the staff are so friendly. Superb home! Couldn't be happier with her care! Best of all, it's in the area where she grew up, so her friends and relatives can still easily visit her.
Excellent management and staff. Can't do enough for their residents to go above and beyond their duties to help residents and families. Can't thank you enough for the care and compassion you've all shown us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And keep being Amazing.
All staff are amazing, patient, kind, and caring. Food is plentiful and of a very high standard/quality. Most rooms are bright, well-laid out and cheerful, but the odd one could do with decorating (which I believe is underway). The activities are varied, well-thought-out and fun. There is a secure locked front door/sign-in/out process. The dining room and both lounges are up-to-date and comfortable. You always get a warm welcome at Willowdale.
My auntie has been at Willowdale for a few years now and has loved it. Unfortunately, just before Christmas, she had a diagnosis of cancer with no hope of treatment. Her only wish was to revisit Blackpool, but because of how unwell she is, the home brought Blackpool to her, and she had an amazing day! All the staff are exceptional and are true carers. I am truly touched by the care and support to provide to my auntie and also to myself and my family too.
The manager and care staff are very caring and make it feel like a family. My husband has excellent health care and a doctor is called if there is any concern about his health. If there are any problems, the staff ring me straight away and keep me up to date.
I have found the manager and staff very understanding and helpful with regards to caring for my sister and everyone who visits. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we have not had access to my sister's room, but she seems very happy with it.
Mum has been a resident at Willowdale Care Home for seven months. During Covid, it was very difficult to get support for my Mum at home and we looked for the right care locally. I have no hesitation to recommend Willowdale Care Home. Mum has settled well and of course, has good days and bad. The staff are always happy to talk about how Mum has been and to help her with the telephone. I have been made welcome when visiting either indoors or using the visitor's pod. The food is all freshly prepared daily and the cakes at afternoon tea are highly rated by my Mum.
The staff are really lovely and always go out of their way to ensure the residents are happy.
Mum seems a lot safer in falls that she has someone there and not on her own. She is treated with kindness and respect and now it's slowly coming out of lockdown she seems happier in herself. Thanks to all that are concerned in her welfare.
Willowdale Care Home is a lovely care home, very homely which I think is very important. I feel completely at ease knowing my mum is getting the very best care. It's a very friendly place for residents and visitors. The staff are absolutely amazing, so caring and hardworking. The residents are treated as individuals; the staff treat them as normally as possible and have a laugh with them; it's a very cheerful place. Would 100% recommend Willowdale to anybody looking for a care home for a loved one as that's what they'll be there - loved! The cats are a bonus too!
My mother has been a resident at Willowdale for 12 months. She is extremely happy and had made excellent progress socially and emotionally and her mobility has improved immensely from requiring 2 carers to support her, she can now walk fairly independently with her 3 wheel walker. The support/care from all members of staff is exemplary. The rooms are a little dated and living social areas are limited (hence lower score) but overall Willowdale is an excellent care home with outstanding staff and management.
I could not thank the staff and management of Willowdale enough for the care given to my father, that went above and beyond the call of duty on more than one occasion. My family, friends and I were always made welcome. As I live abroad, the telephone service to check up and speak to Dad was wonderful. We are only sad that he was unable to stay with you all at Willowdale. Many thanks.
Mum became a resident in Willowdale at the beginning of September. Having been so independent with some family support, she was very anxious about going into a home. However, from our first day on arrival, the warmth and love from all the staff was wonderful. Mum is always reassured when she is excellent and it is so lovely to hear her speak so affectionately of Willowdale. Many thanks to the manager and all staff.
