View Full Details of Brompton Lodge LtdBrompton Lodge is a wonderful care home. You cannot fault the kindness and dedication of all the staff. The care staff do a tremendous job keeping the residents occupied during the daytime including afternoon films, activities and craft. The support staff also play a big role, the standard of food and cleanliness is first class. As a family, we are delighted to have found Brompton Lodge for our mother's care/residence and always look forward to our visits.
Mum has dementia and could no longer stay in her home. We found Brompton Lodge on a recommendation of a friend. She moved in in September and was very unsettled. The staff were amazing with her, helping to calm and settle her in. It will never be home to her but she is now comfortable and well looked after by lovely staff.
Mum and Dad went into Brompton Lodge in December 2021. They were fortunate to have a double room. Sadly, Dad passed away nine days later. We thought Mum wouldn't cope without him but she thrived. She refused, point blank, to mix with any of the other residents, she'd always preferred the company of younger people, so she stayed in her room, which she loved. She called it her "pink bubble." The girls looked after her like a member of the family, she had her hair and nails done, she always looked clean and smart. She had her brandy and cream liqueur next to her and started every day with a brandy coffee. She loved hearing about the girls' lives and listened to their problems. There was always a happy feeling when we visited, the home is spotlessly clean and welcoming. Sadly, just before Christmas, she started to fade away but the care she received, before she passed away in her sleep, was wonderful. I'll never be able to thank the management and their team of wonderful carers for looking after her.
The team at Brompton Lodge made, what my mum found, or so she told me, a difficult time in her life as pleasant as it could be. She felt safe, she made friends, and she knew she'd made the right decision to come to you (didn't stop her having a moan though, but that was mum). My mum had limited mobility and increasing challenges with dementia and she was looked after with love and attention. Coming to stay with you in the summer of 2023 gave her the opportunity to flourish and recover some of her spark. I saw the team do wonderful work, not just with my mum but all the residents, and it was humbling to see. As a family, our increasing stress worrying about Mum left us when she was in your care. In her final month, I cannot praise enough the level of support for us as a family and the love, care and dignity you allowed my mum.
My mum moved into Brompton Lodge in December 2021 and lived there until she sadly passed away a few weeks ago. She was extremely happy there, had a beautiful room and loved all the staff. Everyone from the manager and carers down to the catering staff and cleaners were all lovely and Mum was looked after very well. I would recommend Brompton Lodge to anyone looking for a home that cares.
The standard of care at Brompton Lodge is outstanding. It is a brilliant home which welcomes its residents like members of their own family. The staff are wonderful - they are very patient, extremely kind and considerate and have supported my family as well as my mum. My mum spent the final years of her life at Brompton Lodge and she felt very happy, safe and cherished. She knew that the lodge was 'her home', she loved the food - especially the tea and fresh cakes and biscuits every afternoon which I also enjoyed! Her room was lovely, very clean and full of photographs of her family which made it feel just like home. My mum was born in Italy and the owner even brought in homemade spaghetti sauce which was so kind and hugely appreciated by our family. I looked at many different care homes before I chose Brompton Lodge and I sincerely believe that I could not have found a better place for our mum. Thank you for treating her with such kindness and compassion during her final weeks.
Our 97-year-old mother lives alone and needed respite care after a fall. The home was unbelievably helpful and within a day had visited Mum, assessed her and enabled her to move in. Her care was superb: all the staff were kind, considerate and respectful to a proud, private lady who had not been happy to leave her home. Personal care, e.g. bathing, was done sensitively and other services, like hairdresser and chiropody, provided. They catered for Mum’s every need, from meals in her room to allowing her to have a main meal in the evening instead of lunchtime, nothing was too much trouble. Content was personalised to the individual and she called it “good home cooking”. Whoever we spoke to knew of Mum and could tell us what her day had been like. The home was clean, never smelly and visitors were welcomed. Most/all the staff had been there long term and they worked as an effective team. Mum is back at home but the home was understanding and would welcome her back if need be.
Brompton Lodge is a beautiful home, the manager is always warm and inviting, the staff are amazing and extremely kind and caring. My mum is very happy to be here, the food is all home cooked and with fresh ingredients which is very important to me. There are lots of activities ti keep the residents occupied, the cleaners do an exceptional job in keeping all areas clean to the highest of standards. My mum's room is beautiful and so are the grounds which are kept to a very high standard.
My Mum moved in a few weeks ago and I have found the manager and team really helpful not only in settling my mum but in supporting me through the process. I feel that my mum is safe and settling well and that the team really care about her.
My physically handicapped older brother lived alone for over forty years and I was worried he would not settle into Brompton Lodge particularly as he was suffering from dementia but I need not have concerned myself. His physical health improved rapidly and I will be forever grateful for the care, understanding, consideration and kindness he received during his remaining four years.
Mum was only there for 4 months before she sadly passed away in the home but the care she received in that short time from everyone was amazing and it was so comforting to us as a family to know she was in a safe environment and looked after so well by everyone. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and the manager was always supportive and available to answer any questions we as a family had. Mums room was bright and nicely decorated and there was always a homemade cake and cup of tea for us to share with mum when we visited. We would like to thank everyone for their hard work, care and dedication shown to our lovely mum.
My mother receives excellent care from the team at Brompton. After a lengthy stay in hospital this year, my mother deteriorated quite badly, within two weeks of returning to Brompton, her health and responsive ability improved considerably. My mother is always clean and tidy as is her room and all the facilities in the home. The staff are caring and attentive.
My mother was a resident for nine years. She was well cared for during those years. At the end of her life, she was surrounded by people who cared for her and looked after her with consideration and affection. She died with dignity thanks to the staff and management, and I am very grateful.
My mother has been at Brompton Lodge for three years now. We have no complaints, the staff and management have worked exceptionally hard through the pandemic to keep our families and loved ones safe and well. I would recommend Brompton Lodge to family and friends.
As can be seen from the review, I have omitted filling in the activities section prior to today's circumstances. My sister was admitted to Brompton Lodge in 2016 and from then to the lockdown, activities were good. Since then we have been unable to visit as we see her in an outside pod in the garden.
Mum has been a resident at Brompton Lodge since December 2019. The staff and management do a fantastic job at providing a high level of care. They are kind, considerate and very supportive. I like the fact that most of the staff have been working at Brompton Lodge for a long time which is indicative of a happy social environment and the staff are all very familiar to Mum. The home cooking at the home is very good and Mum enjoys her meals and likes the chef and cook who spend time with her. Mum also really enjoys the garden which is well maintained and lovely to sit out in during the summer. COVID has made things difficult for all homes as previously I used to enjoy visiting Mum inside the home. However, provision has been made with a prior appointment to visit in the outside pod and we are also now allowed to bring Mum out to our home. I would recommend Brompton Lodge to anybody seeking a home for a friend or relative.
Brompton Lodge has been a lifesaver for my mother-in-law, with this crazy world we are living in at the moment she was becoming very withdrawn and so lonely as she could not go out or have visitors throughout covid lockdown and restrictions. At Brompton she has become her old self , singing, chatting and laughing. She has put weight on as the food is really good and plentiful, the staff are second to none, she thinks of them as her extended family they are so kind and caring. The home is beautifully clean and so well run, nothing is too much trouble for all members of the team. I would highly recommend this care home.
My mum is in the home and it was very sad that we had to source a permanent place for her, but Brompton Lodge have been fantastic. She’s well cared for, always has her hair done and is very happy. We are able to visit her regularly obviously with covid rules.
We found the home very good it was like home from home. My father was well looked after and given good care and staff very good.
My very elderly mother has been a resident in Brompton Lodge since August 2019 when it was no longer safe to be in her own home although we had a good care package set up. She has had two lovely rooms and has nothing but praise for the staff: "you know, they always look after me so well, I cannot fault them". She especially likes the cooks and never complains about the food. Her couple of special requirements are accommodated. Her medication is complex but is administered with efficiency and genuine care. Whenever she has needed the Doctor or District Nurse this has been arranged promptly. The hairdresser and chiropodist also attend to her regularly. The manager plus senior staff are compassionate and dedicated. Of course, sometimes they are short-staffed and under pressure but that only means the door is not answered so promptly. My mother is checked every hour at night and assisted from her chair to the toilet when needed. I can also add that Brompton Lodge is good value for money.
